Chapter 1187: 1187. More Torturing From The Inside And The Outside Until He Breaks!

Rex could feel it the moment the dam finally broke. The defiance that had made Apollo Brightsoul so infuriatingly resilient was crumbling, not from physical pain, but from the corrosive acid of shame.

Apollo wasn’t just bleeding; he was dissolving.

"That’s it," Rex crooned, his voice vibrating with a dark, predatory triumph. "Let the light die, Apollo..."

"Let the shame consume you... That’s where the truth lives..."

Rex decided to escalate. Physical torture was too simple now; he needed to weaponize Apollo’s own divine essence against him.

He raised both hands, fingertips crackling with a volatile cocktail of Gravity Manipulation and Time Manipulation. The air between them became hypercompressed, screaming as it was squeezed into impossible densities.

VROOOOOOM

"You want to be an Apostle of Life?" Rex asked, his eyes glowing with a malevolent gold and violet light. "Then let’s see how much life you can actually endure."

Rex slammed his palms together.

BOOM.

A shockwave of gravitational force exploded outward, but instead of pushing Apollo away, it imploded inward, wrapping around Apollo’s broken body like a vise made of neutron star matter.

Apollo’s bones didn’t just crack this time; they ground against each other, the sound like wet gravel being crushed in a fist.

CRUNCH SQUELCH.

"This is the weight of your failure," Rex hissed.

As Apollo gasped for air that wouldn’t come, Rex activated the temporal rifts again, but this time he did something worse. He synchronized them.

The rifts began to spin, creating a chronal vortex that blurred the images of Talyra, Aisella, Nerith, Mireya, and Amelia. Their moans and screams of ecstasy merged into a single, haunting chorus that echoed through the chamber.

"MAKE IT STOP! PLEASE!" Apollo’s voice finally broke.

The plea was pathetic, stripped of all dignity, a raw wound of sound that made Rex’s grin widen.

"Make what stop, Apollo? The truth? Or the pleasure they’re feeling?" Rex leaned in, his free hand weaving through the air, plucking at the strands of time itself.

With each pluck, a new sensory detail flooded Apollo’s mind: the smell of Amelia’s perfume as she surrendered, the heat of Talyra’s skin, and the specific way Nerith’s eyes rolled back.

Rex then began a ritual of exquisite cruelty. He used Telekinesis to lift Apollo’s shattered fingers off the ground, holding them suspended in midair.

Then, with precise, microscopic applications of Gravity, he began to increase the pressure on each individual joint.

POP. SNAP. CRACKLE.

"One finger for every lie you told yourself about being a hero," Rex counted, each word punctuated by the wet sound of breaking cartilage. "One for every promise you couldn’t keep."

Apollo’s body convulsed violently. His eyes were blown wide, pupils dilated to the point of blackness, staring at nothing but the kaleidoscopic nightmare surrounding him.

"I... I loved them..." he wheezed, blood bubbling between his teeth like crimson foam.

"Love is just a word mortals use to justify their weakness," Rex countered.

He grabbed Apollo’s throat, not to strangle him, but to hold him steady while he unleashed a concentrated burst of Temporal Decay directly into Apollo’s chest.

SZZZZZT

It wasn’t fire; it was time. Apollo felt his cellular structure aging and reversing in rapid, agonizing succession.

His skin blistered and healed, then withered and peeled, then tore open again. It was a sensory overload that bypassed pain and went straight to existential terror.

"You’re not even a man anymore, Apollo," Rex whispered, his face inches from Apollo’s convulsing features. "You’re just a collection of broken memories and failed ideals."

Rex then increased the gravitational pressure to its absolute limit. The ground beneath Apollo shattered completely, sending him plummeting into a crater of his own blood and debris.

Rex descended slowly, hovering above the pit like a dark god, his cape billowing in the chronal wind.

"I’m going to leave you here, Apollo," Rex said, his voice echoing with finality. "Not dead... Death would be too merciful..."

"You will live in this moment forever..."

"Every second, the rifts will reopen..."

"Every second, you will watch them choose me over you..."

"Every second, you will feel your bones break again and again."

Rex raised his hand one last time, gathering a sphere of pure, compressed void energy. "Welcome to eternity."

Rex descended into the crater like a predator circling a wounded animal that refused to stop twitching. The air in the pit was thick enough to choke on, saturated with the metallic tang of Apollo’s blood, the sulfurous stench of burnt divine essence, and the nauseating sweetness of the chronal distortions bleeding from the rifts.

"You’re still breathing, Apollo," Rex observed, his voice dripping with a perverse fascination. "Even after everything..."

"Your body is clinging to life like a parasite...."

"Tell me... does that make you feel righteous? Does your heart beating against those shattered ribs feel like victory?"

Rex didn’t wait for an answer. He wanted to see the exact moment the light died in Apollo’s eyes, but he wasn’t ready to let it happen yet.

He wanted to prolong the sunset.

Rex raised both hands, fingers splayed, and began to weave a complex web of Gravity Manipulation and Temporal Distortion. He wasn’t just crushing Apollo anymore; he was beginning to manipulate the very concept of Apollo’s physical presence in space time.

VROOOOOO THUMMM

The sound was low, subsonic, vibrating through the marrow of Apollo’s bones. Rex began to twist the gravity around Apollo’s limbs into spiraling funnels.

"Let’s try something different... Let’s see what happens when your body exists in two different moments at once."

With a flick of his wrists, Rex forced a temporal overlap. Apollo’s left arm was suddenly thrust five seconds into the future, while his right arm remained in the present.

The biological dissonance was catastrophic. The nervous system screamed as it tried to process signals from two different points simultaneously.

"AAAAAAGGHHHH... GAAAAH!" Apollo’s scream was torn from his throat as his muscles tore themselves apart from the inside out, trying to move toward a future that his present self hadn’t reached yet.

His tendons snapped like overextended rubber bands.

SNAP. TWANG.

Rex watched, utterly unconcerned with the horror, his mind analyzing the magical feedback. ’Interesting...’

’The cellular regeneration is trying to compensate for the temporal lag, but it’s creating a feedback loop of agony.’

"Look at them again, Apollo," Rex commanded, his voice cutting through the wet gurgling of Apollo’s breathing. "Don’t look away now..."

"The best part is coming..."

The rifts around them pulsed brighter, turning from sickly gold to a deep, bruised purple. The images of Talyra, Aisella, Nerith, Mireya, and Amelia became more vivid and more interactive.

Through the temporal manipulation, Rex made the images bleed into the real world. Pale, ghostly hands from the rifts reached out, stroking Apollo’s bloodied face while the images of the women continued their obscene, ecstatic surrender to Rex’s shadow.

"Feel them, Apollo," Rex whispered, leaning down until his mask nearly touched Apollo’s forehead. "Feel their touch..."

"Feel how they crave the darkness you tried to protect them from."

Rex then activated his Telekinesis to its full, horrifying potential. He didn’t just lift Apollo; he began to pull Apollo’s body apart at a molecular level.

He used telekinetic micro forces to pry open the wounds Rex had already made, widening them with excruciating precision.

SQUELCH. SLICE.

"Every nerve ending is a string on a harp, Apollo," Rex murmured, his hands moving like a conductor’s. "And I am going to play a masterpiece."

Rex began to ’play’ the harp. With precise telekinetic pokes, he would stimulate Apollo’s pain receptors to their absolute maximum capacity, then instantly freeze the nerve signals with Time Manipulation so the pain never faded; it only accumulated.

"This is called ’Stasis Pain,’" Rex explained conversationally as he drove a fist into Apollo’s already collapsed lung.

THUD CRUNCH.

"The pain doesn’t pass... It doesn’t dull."

"It simply stacks... One second of agony becomes two, then four, then eight..."

Apollo’s eyes rolled back in his head. His body was no longer responding to conscious commands; it was merely a vessel for pure, unadulterated torment.

His jaw hung slack, blood dripping in steady rhythm onto the debris. He was trapped in a prison of his own flesh, where every heartbeat felt like a hammer blow and every breath felt like swallowing broken glass.

Rex suddenly stood upright, his aura flaring in a massive, violet-black supernova that pushed back the edges of the rifts. "But you’re still too conscious, Apollo... Too present."

Rex raised his palm toward the sky. "Let’s deepen the hole."

He unleashed a concentrated Gravity Well directly beneath Apollo. The ground didn’t just break; it collapsed into a localized singularity.

Apollo was dragged down into a crushing vortex of stone and blood. As he fell, Rex unleashed a barrage of Temporal Bolts—streaks of chronal energy that struck Apollo repeatedly, each one aging a different part of his body by decades in a millisecond.

ZAP CRACKLE BOOM.

One leg withered into bone and desiccated flesh; another remained young and bleeding; his torso became a patchwork of aged skin and fresh lacerations.

The sensory overload was so intense that Apollo’s brain began to misfire, causing him to hallucinate that he was being flayed alive while simultaneously being frozen in ice.

Rex hovered above the swirling vortex of destruction, his cape snapping in the supernatural wind, watching the spectacle with the detached curiosity of a scientist watching a chemical reaction.

"Don’t die yet, Apollo," Rex called down into the chaos, his voice carrying easily over the howling winds. "We haven’t even begun to explore the limits of your suffering."
