The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast
Chapter 1981: Trust Without Reason
The Ghost Enforcer Uncle’s mouth twitched slightly: "You’re not short on money, right?"
Little Taotie sighed like a little adult, his expression old-fashioned: "I have to support a lot of college brothers and sisters. The buildings can’t keep up with their housing applications. Now I can’t make movies or commercials, and my income has decreased. I’m a poor little thing now."
"You want to support college students?" The secretary was puzzled.
He was someone with very strong language skills, fluent in multiple languages, including Hua Country language. Although he inevitably carried a bit of an accent and wasn’t very standard, he could still understand it.
Little Taotie nodded and told the secretary about how he was building dorms for those brothers and sisters.
The secretary was moved to tears.
Little Taotie was surprised: "Why are you crying?"
Secretary: "If I were a Hua Country person, it’d be great. I’d get such good treatment and wouldn’t have to follow the boss to do so many unconscionable things. At the end of the day, I’m just trying to get by."
The secretary sobbed: "In my life, I haven’t done much good. Maybe the only good thing I can do is to hand over all the boss’s assets to you for good deeds."
The secretary told Little Taotie the location of all his boss’s assets, as well as the passwords and how to retrieve the money.
The Ghost Enforcer Uncle listened and was shocked by the boss’s enormous assets, "Isn’t this a bit too much money?"
Secretary: "What he does is illegal, and these funds are not clean."
Little Taotie patted his chest, straightened his posture: "Don’t worry, I’ll make this dirty money clean! The best way to clean it is to contribute all of it to the people!"
The secretary bowed deeply: "Thank you."
The Ghost Enforcer Uncle made another "call," and Little Taotie donated a piece of chocolate, successfully marking the secretary on the Ghost Enforcer Uncle’s list.
The Ghost Enforcer Uncle waved: "I’ll take them away."
Little Taotie waved his little hand: "Alright, take care."
Having received a large sum, Little Taotie walked along grinning foolishly, Hua Jinyan shook his head helplessly, reached out to hold her little hand, and gently reminded: "Walk properly, watch where you’re going."
"With you holding me, I won’t fall even without looking."
"You trust me that much?"
Little Taotie countered: "And do you trust me?"
Hua Jinyan nodded: "I do."
Little Taotie giggled: "Exactly, we don’t need a reason, we just trust each other."
Seeing her bright smile, sweet dimples, and curved eyebrows, Hua Jinyan’s mouth curved up as well: "You’re right."
Back at the base, they ran into Lu Yuan hurrying out, Little Taotie shouted loudly: "Uncle Bai Lu!"
Lu Yuan, who had his head down, received some bad news: the place imprisoning the young white coats had exploded. Right now, his biggest worry was Little Taotie and Hua Jinyan; he couldn’t reach them by phone and didn’t know how the two kids were.
He vaguely heard someone calling him, feeling a bit impatient, yet found the voice familiar, sweet and childish. He realized and suddenly raised his head to look over.
"Little Taotie!"
Little Taotie spun around in place and smiled: "It’s me!"
"Are you two alright?"
Lu Yuan picked up the fastest running speed to reach them, looking them up and down, front and back, making sure they weren’t injured, and then he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Where are your phones?"
Little Taotie patted his pockets and shook his head: "Can’t find them."
Hua Jinyan: "Something unexpected happened, didn’t have time to grab them, they probably got destroyed in the explosion."
