The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!
Chapter 2064 - 552: The Ancient Pact Awakened by the Demon King (Part 5)
Sak Jifeng also put away the fake smile plastered on his face and nodded seriously, cold light flickering in his amber vertical pupils.
"Queen Aisemata was extremely furious upon hearing this; Chaos's shadow returning is not something we'll let pass unnoticed! The Gutaf Kingdom will mobilize a hundred thousand troops to the front line, vowing to leave no scoundrel alive!"
At this point, he paused for a moment and then slowly turned around, directing his gaze beyond the camp.
Where his gaze pointed, a convoy of heavy carts escorted by Lizardmen was slowly entering the camp, and the heavy wheels left deep tracks on the ground.
The peculiar goods on those carts drew odd glances from the soldiers at the camp gate.
"To deal with those numerous rats, we've specially prepared some... interesting little toys."
Everyone followed Sak's gaze to the carts, which were uniformly stacked with enormous beehive-like wooden boxes.
From each hole in the wooden boxes protruded a cone-shaped arrowhead, glittering coldly, densely packed like a porcupine's bristling quills.
Seeing this astonishing scene, Quentin Copper Furnace, standing at the center of the Dwarf Delegation, widened his eyes in disbelief, looking as if he had unearthed an undead.
As a Dwarf Lord who once fought alongside Erin and others in Twilight Province, he was all too familiar with these things!
These were weapons that had appeared on the Salvation Army's front line, vaporizing an entire ten thousand strong Clan Rat force in an instant!
Quentin never expected these things to be the handiwork of the Gutaf Kingdom!
Considering these Lizardmen were summoned by Prince Colin, his heart grew more wary of that Prince of the Empire.
What on earth is this guy's background?!
...
While the Dwarves of the High Mountain Kingdom were shocked by the Gutaf Kingdom's unfathomable strength, the Clan Rats hiding in the deep mountains were equally panic-stricken over the enemy's mysterious power.
In less than three days, the Ratman Clan on Burial Peak had been thrashed by a mysterious force, and they hadn't even seen who their enemy was.
Even more distressing was that now, not only was the enemy's identity unclear, but even the Shrek Warlord guarding Burial Peak was nowhere to be found!
This cowardly fellow had slinked away with oiled feet!
And he'd fled just as the fight began!
Upon hearing this news, Mork the Soul Shatterer almost flew into a rage, hopping and yelling in his Blood and Flesh Royal Court.
"A bunch of useless trash, utterly useless! Worthless!"
This usually conceited Ratman Chieftain was utterly stripped of his arrogance before his children.
His enormous belly trembled violently with each rapid breath, and the gurgle of indigestion echoed clearly in the silent hall.
The fear he showed wasn't an act; Mork was truly scared.
Especially after receiving the latest news from the scouts, he felt utterly suffocated.
The Spinor Earl's Domain's border wasn't just gathering Campbell's human new army; these shameless humans were getting involved with the Ratmen's sworn enemies!
"Edgar! Edgar Kaufman! Get out here!"
Mork let out a sharp roar, his voice quaking with hysterical despair.
When the middle-aged human in a magic robe slowly stepped out of the shadows, Mork charged forward without any concern for dignity, his twisted rat face contorting with rage.
"This is the absolute safety you guaranteed?! The Dwarves' hammers and the humans' firearms are almost at my doorstep! And now I've heard some tongue-wagging lizards are thrown into the mix! If I'm done for, don't expect to fare any better! I'll spill every secret! We'll all perish together!"
The flying spittle landed all over Edgar, highlighting the immaturity of the Ratman, panicking well before the end was near.
Regarding this ugly demon beast, Professor Edgar Kaufman frowned in disgust, his eyes filled with disdain for the filthy creature.
Were it not for the pursuit of truth and the ambition to rise above, he wouldn't have entangled himself with this revolting bunch.
Yet he had no choice.
Throughout the Academic State's surroundings, only Ryan Kingdom could provide such a vast and stable supply of soul donors, enabling him and his boss to implement their theories.
"Enough, Mork, your shouting is more grating than the grindstone."
Calmly interrupting Mork's screams, Edgar adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose, his indifferent gaze devoid of human emotion.
"They're nothing but a rabble. The terrain of Ten Thousand Ridges Mountain Range is complex; as long as you don't foolishly open the gates to welcome them, the secret passages and toxins here are enough to exhaust them. Don't forget, you still have alchemy golems we've provided. Our friends from Ryan Kingdom also won't stand by and do nothing... so what are you afraid of?"
The cold comfort was like a basin of cold water, tempering Mork's madness temporarily, though it did not eliminate the fear feared by the giant rat.
"Just... a rabble? Are you sure they're only a rabble? Do you take me for a fool? That... that existence which has already descended upon Twilight Province was driven away by them!"
Referring to that existence, Mork's rat teeth quivered involuntarily, revealing a deep-rooted terror in his small, fierceness-feigning eyes.
