Luckily, he showed no mercy and hesitated.

Unaware that he had already disgraced the Land of Knights, Sir Dickbin, incensed by the laughter, stepped forward aggressively and continued.

"You fools are still laughing! The Ten Thousand Ridges Mountain Range is within the sphere of influence of the High Mountain Kingdom, as decreed by an ancient alliance from the Second Epoch. Do I need to remind you?"

"Your military gathering at the border will not only cause serious diplomatic disputes, anger our Dwarf allies, but might even provoke warnings from the Empire! For regional stability, on behalf of the King, I demand you cease this folly at once, or—"

"Or His Majesty Theoden will not stand by idly?"

Edward took over the conversation, his tone as indifferent as reading an outdated newspaper, effectively silencing Sir Dickbin on the spot.

After a good while, he finally managed to squeeze out a sentence with a flushed face.

"Well, of course... the Lion Heart Knight Order will not stand by idly!"

He clearly still valued his dignity; otherwise, he would shamelessly say such brazen words without blushing.

The Lion Heart Knight Order, which had stationed in Twilight Province for a year, not only failed to advance toward the Ten Thousand Ridges Mountain Range but instead reversed their direction, triumphantly heading towards Roland City.

Edward chuckled, his gaze growing colder, looking at the neatly groomed knight as if he were observing a bug.

Honestly, he invited this guy in with no good intent, merely to expose the ugliness of Ryan Nobles to the Duchy's new elites, hoping to unite those around... but this man's grotesqueness first disgusted him.

From start to finish, this knight didn't ask a single question about the Ryan people lying on stretchers outside, nor did he mention the atrocities committed by Ratmen in the caves, but instead showed concern for Dwarves in the Ten Thousand Ridges Mountain Range.

Even though, on his way into this tent, those horrors lay right under his nose.

He actually started to pretend blindness.

"Then let your Heigmer bring his knight order to take these people home."

He sneered coldly, bypassed the table, and strode toward the tent's entrance, pulling open the thick curtain.

Swish—

In a clean and crisp sound, the hot June wind mixed with the stench of rotting wounds quickly filled the tent.

Instinctively, Dickbin stepped back and took out a silk handkerchief sprayed with perfume, his brow furrowed, covering his nose.

"What are you doing? Close it quickly!"

"Open your eyes and look, Sir Dickbin."

Edward pointed at the refugees outside the tent, sternly rebuking.

"The citizens enlightened by Holy Light are being corralled, tortured, and massacred like livestock by Ratmen... Those unaware might think they are sardines in a tin!"

"Yet you, a coward masquerading as noble, dare speak of some idiotic ancient pact and Dwarves! Sir Dickbin, I won't ask if you still hold reverence for Holy Light, because even Demons would mock you. I only want to ask where your shame and dignity have gone?"

Sir Dickbin merely glanced at that hellish scene briefly before diverting his gaze as though his eyes were burned by a cigarette.

His face flushed red, not from shame, but because the Campbell people were so shameless, openly exposing his scars.

"Duke, you, do not let rage cloud your judgment! Do not change the subject! I'm addressing your issues now!"

"Once the ancient pact is broken, holy duties unfulfilled, Chaos's corruption will encroach upon our lands! Can you bear this responsibility?"

"As for these commoners... in this chaotic era, the death of a few is common. We cannot ruin good people's happy lives for the sake of these lowly lives. Duke, you are too young; if it were your father, he would certainly not act so recklessly!"

The air inside the tent suddenly quieted down.

Everyone's gaze fell on him; Sir Wesley restrained his raised corners while Sir Bertrand narrowed his eyes.

This pest...

Dare boast shamelessly of the former King of Campbell.

Dickbin seemed to detect the off-atmosphere, his Adam's apple moved with some difficulty.

"What... what do you want to do?"

They did nothing but stare at him as if watching garbage.

Even Sir Bertrand, the most traditional and ceremonious old-school noble, now bore only pure contempt in his eyes.

Lacking morality, devoid of limits, faithless...

Is this the last knight of the "Land of Knights"?

Edward suddenly smiled; that cold smile contained no warmth, only biting chill.

He turned his head, looking at Sir Wesley beside him.

"Take a look, Wesley, this is our Earl Derek's old friend... the backbone the Land of Knights lost, needing me, the least knight-like Duke, to retrieve it."

Sir Wesley sighed lightly.

"Tulips are wilting; it's truly regrettable."

Edward turned back, glanced at the retreating in panic Sir Dickbin, then towards the two guards standing by the door.

"Give this friend a gun, take him to the Mountain Corps' 'Laine Camp'. I think Marshal Wesley is right, Ryan's compatriots should be rescued by Ryan people themselves. He can take the gun and discuss that ancient pact with Ratmen, and maybe head into their caves to look for Ryan people's bones... if any are left."
