The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!
Chapter 1931 - 528: The Ripples Stirred by the Bell Sound Reverberate in Everyone's Hearts
The curtain on Queen Street rises and falls, and tonight's darkness is deeper than usual. The mist on the Rushing River not only dampens the brims of people's hats but also moistens the corners of their eyes.
Outside the Colin Grand Theater.
The dispersing crowd hasn't really dispersed, with many standing under the yellow glow of gas street lamps, bidding farewell to companions who watched the performance with them.
At the street corner, a young couple embraces tightly.
The girl's shoulders tremble slightly, her swollen eyes brimming with mist, shedding tears for "Eloise".
The boy pats her shoulder and softly comforts her, telling her that what happens on stage isn't real, and nothing like that would happen in Thunder City.
Suddenly, the girl lifts her head, the streetlights reflecting in her eyes.
"If one day... we face such a thing, please take me away from there."
Her voice is thick with nasal sound, suppressed sobs, and sincere emotion.
"I don't care if the Bell Sound rings for us or whose blessing we receive, I only care about you."
These were words Eloise didn't speak, but she believed they were her heartfelt thoughts... things that need no lines to express.
The boy remains silent for a moment.
He didn't say anything like "that's just a performance" or "nobles wouldn't be interested in us" to spoil the mood.
He just extends his rough index finger to wipe away the undried tears on the girl's cheek, looking into those eyes he treasures most, he said.
"Leona, I feel the same, I don't care if the Bell Sound rings, I only care about you."
"If someone tries to take you away from me, I won't plead for anyone's forgiveness... please remember to place a bouquet on my gravestone."
He doesn't have much money.
But for his beloved girl, he's willing to take up a gun to protect their home.
That heartfelt confession surpassed all the magnificent performances on stage, as they kissed each other firmly; nothing could separate them.
The most skillful "seduction" often isn't sweet talk, but heartfelt words.
Tonight, many kindred souls were immersed in their gentle retreats.
In the entire Demon City, it's probably hard to find such an enchanting demon...
...
The next morning, Thunder City awoke early.
Or rather, the city never really slept last night.
The clear cries of newsboys hadn't yet managed to wake the slumbering people when a long line had already formed at the ticket office of the Colin Grand Theater.
Everyone had heard about that miraculous performance, and the reputation of the Iris Flower Theater Troupe was firmly established by the fictional names of Eloise and Matthew.
Now the whole city heard the theater's "Bell Sound", and the winding queue even covered half of Queen Street!
"Saint Sis above, do these folks not have work?" Mr. Horace, squeezed into a peanut shape in the crowd, couldn't help but grumble.
Looking at the endless line, he couldn't help but complain.
"Parliament should legislate for people to queue at home, write letters for appointments, at least not wander the streets during work hours like this!"
Clearly, they called in sick!
"Enough, Horace! Stop going on about your useless titles."
His wife standing beside him was also complaining.
From her prominent cheekbones, it was clear she'd worried a lot for the family, and the care of several young children rested on her shoulders.
"... Saint Sis above, you're already a parliament member, can't you think of some way for us? Maybe ask Prince Colin for a favor?"
Hearing his wife's sarcasm, Horace's expression became somewhat awkward.
He could see the statue of Saint Sis every day, but Prince Colin was truly out of reach, unless one day Prince Colin whimsically created a statue.
But even if that day came and he really did meet the great prince, he'd definitely not ask for such a trivial favor from His Highness.
How absurd it would be for Prince Colin to have a secretary help buy a ticket... buying a ship ticket to send him offshore seems more likely.
At this moment, his young son looked up and timidly pointed to a notice board beneath the poster, said.
"Daddy, there's a VIP passage without queueing, and also a VIP box doesn't require queuing."
Mr. Horace's eyes lit up, placing a hand on the child's head and crouching down.
"Oh, my little Horace, when did you learn to recognize so many words... tell Daddy, how much is one ticket?"
"100 silver pounds."
How much?!
Upon hearing that clear and pleasant voice, Mr. Horace shuddered unconsciously, his broad hand instinctively moving from the child's head to his shoulder.
He also stood up.
"Oh... my little Horace, that's quite an amount. If it's an 8 PM show with Miss Kaylee personally performing, I might consider buying a ticket for the whole family."
Although the Iris Flower Theater Troupe would still perform during the day, the much-hyped "Kaylee" and "Eagle" wouldn't appear on every stage.
After all, human energy is limited, even violinists take turns, let alone the young men and women jumping around on stage?
All theaters across the Aus Continent are like this.
Moreover, the ticket price for popular shows will also rise accordingly. If it were Eloise herself on stage, 100 silver pounds might not even rent the box that Baron once sat in.
At least, don't even think about it until her popularity fades.
However, Mr. Horace still had to emphasize once more that he wasn't short of those 100 silver pounds, he had plenty of money, he just wanted to make sure every single silver pound was spent wisely.
