The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 1886 - 518: The Flames of Conflict Are Burning Beyond the Backyard (Part 4)

To keep the two of them from tearing the house apart, Luo Yan finally came up with a "not really a solution" kind of solution—to use a chess match instead of a quarrel.

The Campbell Duchy's chess is very similar to Earth's international chess. After all, it's something Linte Isaac brought over, just like playing cards and those noble-dueling games.

These days in the Great Laine Region you can hardly find any trace of the Mechanical God's Teaching, yet many cultural products from the Isaac Dynasty have withstood the test of time and been passed down ever since. It's not just Imperial people playing them—Demons from Hell play them too.

However, Luo Yan hadn't expected that dear classmate Mia would be even more of an idiot than he thought—she couldn't even beat Vivian.

Even without delving into their move sequences, just from the distribution of pieces on the board he could tell that "White" was clearly on the losing side, being ruthlessly pinned to the ground by "Black."

But Mia didn't seem to think so. Her curled toes suddenly relaxed, and the heart-shaped pupils in her eyes flared with a renewed light of victory.

"Heh, heh-heh… how interesting. Try this on for size! Watch my Thunderbolt War Chariot one-shot your knight!" She flicked a jade-like finger; a trace of fragrance trailed as the white chariot pressed forward, kicking Vivian's Black Knight clean off the board.

Vivian remained utterly unfazed, merely giving a lazy yawn as her slender fingers pinched and idly wobbled a black Bishop.

"In that case, my Bishop is going to step on your knight. I've still got one knight left; you don't have a single one anymore."

"Uu—" Mia's face froze in an instant. She'd just been obsessed with charging forward and completely failed to notice that her own backyard was on fire.

Watching the Padric family's "fox spirit" stiffen, Vivian let out a chirping giggle, her index finger tracing along the edge of the board.

"Want to take the move back?" she asked in a seductive tone, leaning forward slightly, her wickedly charming face coming closer. "This young lady can magnanimously let you have one move."

Staring into those pupils gleaming with a red light, Mia swallowed hard.

"R-really?"

She kept feeling that the little madwoman from the Colin family couldn't possibly be that kind, but this piece was really important to her.

"Of course, of course! Does Vivian look like someone that petty? Vivian is super generous! Besides, it's no fun if the opponent loses too quickly. Ku ku ku… too weak, you small fry Enchanting Demon."

Seeing Vivian so smugly and confidently give way, Mia, who just a second ago had been all meek and conciliatory, suddenly straightened her slumped shoulders.

The weak and helpless look vanished completely from her face; in those bright eyes, only boiling fighting spirit remained, towering like a hill.

"Heh heh heh, you'll regret this!"

Hearing that villain laugh, Luo Yan already guessed the ending.

In fact, the moment Vivian let out that "chirp-chirp" laugh earlier, he'd already predicted how the plot would unfold next.

Sure enough.

After taking the move back, Mia sent out her White Queen, gobbling up Vivian's Black Bishop in one bite—but in doing so, she exposed her King to the black chariot.

When she saw Vivian's lips suddenly stretch all the way to her ears, Mia's heart instinctively went "thunk," secretly crying out that this was bad.

But it was already too late.

Vivian Colin—who can go all out with a flying kick even against a three-year-old—sprang excitedly up from her chair, planting her feet on the velvet cushion.

"Check! Check!" The long-prepared black piece slapped out with a crisp "pa," sending the white King flying. A pity she couldn't slap it right into a certain fox spirit's nose.

"W-wait a second—" Realizing she'd walked right into a trap, Mia hurriedly pushed off the table to stand, a startled white rabbit springing up onto the tabletop.

"Can't wait even a little! Not even a tiny bit!"

Vivian's face bloomed with the smirk of a petty villain who's finally scored a win, the corners of her mouth flashing silver tiger fangs—and along with them, a paintbrush of unknown origin.

"Ku ku ku! Little brat of the Padric family, the 'adults' world is very filthy, you know. Prepare yourself to accept punishment! Heave-ho—"

This girl's pettiness was really something else.

Clearly, even now the noble young lady of the Colin family was still hung up on Mia's comment about her being a "little brat whose fur hasn't grown in yet."

As the words fell, Mia's face had already gained two round circles like panda eyes.

Apparently still not feeling satisfied, Vivian, caught up in her excitement, waved her little hand and added a full beard to that exquisite "canvas."

That should be ugly enough now!

Mia turned a thoroughly aggrieved gaze toward the "referee" standing to the side, her heart-shaped pupils brimming with watery grievance.

Are you really not going to rein this maniac in?

Luo Yan had originally felt quite sorry for Mia, but once he saw Vivian's drawing skills break through the heavens, he ultimately failed to hold back his laughter.

"Sorry… ah, someone brought a delivery. I'll go to the backyard and get it."

The one who'd come was Mi Xi.

That guy isn't just Qianqian's courier, but also a courier drafted by Luo Yan, normally on standby in the Audience Hall of the Great Graveyard. If there's an express delivery from the Demon City, he brings it over and tosses it in the backyard of Colin Manor.

Actually, Luo Yan could fetch it himself, but the Butterfly of All Things is his trump card after all. Using it occasionally is harmless enough; there's no need to make it common knowledge just to save himself that bit of effort.

Watching Luo Yan flee the scene in disgrace, Mia felt even more wronged.

The Colin Family's Vampire really is rotten to the core!

Of course, dear classmate Luo Yan is an exception.

The Padric family's Enchanting Demon reiterated once more: Luo Yan is different. First of all, he isn't a Vampire. Secondly, he's the best!
