The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!
Chapter 1846 - 510: Both Left Hand and Right Hand Are the Demon King's Guns
The iron hooves of the Lion Heart Knight Order came and went like the wind, with the sunset painting the sky outside Gelang Village blood red.
Scavenging crows landed on the charred fences, letting out excited cries over the corpses.
It was mealtime.
Only after confirming that the steel torrent disappeared at the horizon's edge did the old village chief of Gelang Village nervously peek his head out from his house.
He called several bold young men, holding shovels and sacks, shivering as they walked towards the barracks.
The few surviving Kingdom soldiers also left with the Lion Heart Knight Order. Heigmer needed to take them to testify in the Judicial Court, proving that the Ryan people did not cower in the face of the invasion of evil forces.
They just didn't win.
Now the barracks were empty, with some leftovers picked through by the Salvation Army, including bodies scattered on the ground.
Their leather boots and unburnt coats were considered heirlooms by the country folk.
With good luck, they might even find a few silver coins.
This was not disrespect to the dead; times were tough, and leaving them unattended might turn them into undead.
Or perhaps cause a plague.
The old village chief silently drew a cross over his chest, muttering "dust to dust, ashes to ashes," then assigned work to the young men.
Looking at the corpses lying in disorder, one young man hesitated, shivering as he asked.
"Ch-chief... Are we really okay doing this?"
The village chief glanced at him.
"There's no need for so much nonsense. Do what I tell you to do."
"Y-yes!"
The young man gritted his teeth, stopped hesitating, and reached toward a relatively intact corpse.
In life, this person seemed to be a decent squad leader, and the tall boots on his feet, though muddied, were shiny and sleek.
He just so happened to lack a pair of boots to wear, so he clung to the boots, exerting force to pull them back.
However, at this moment, that damn corpse suddenly twitched, kicking him away.
The young man was kicked and rolled back, not even able to grasp the situation before hearing a scream nearby.
"Damn!"
"By Saint Sis, it's undead!"
"Run!!!"
Undead?!
The young man was jolted as if cold water was poured from head to toe.
He widened his eyes to see the person who had kicked him over suddenly sit up, like a carp thrown ashore.
"Damn, scared me! Why is this NPC stripping people? Is he gay or what?"
"Gay? What is gay?" A nearby corpse also sat up, its head hanging lopsided as it looked around.
"... So cold, am I at the North Pole?" The third corpse seemed calm, but the murmuring, although calm, sounded like a wizard's spell in the villagers' ears.
An undead that can chant spells is not an ordinary undead!
All were scared to shivers, as horrific screams erupted from all directions. Including the old village chief who had led people to collect bodies, all the villagers turned and ran frantically towards the village.
"Hey, don't run! Where's the newbie guide? I'm a newbie, what kind of start is this?!" The first Corpse Ghost to jump up shouted towards the village, its hoarse cry scaring off the crows waiting for dinner.
"It seems we are quite lucky... Born right into the main storyline." The seemingly calm corpse dusted off its pants, standing at the barracks door and calmly analyzing.
In "Catastrophe OL," there are two kinds of starts, one being the conventional panel, where you are born directly at the Newbie Square in the Great Graveyard, with the background of an undead summoned by an Acolyte.
By accumulating merits, one can change careers to other jobs, and it is said that enough points could even turn one into an Enchanting Demon.
Many players came for this reason.
The weird part is here: those who have a "gender" want to experience life without one, and those without want to know what it's like to have one.
However, becoming an Enchanting Demon, one of the High-level Demons, still has its challenges.
Besides the conventional start, there is another kind of start - the "non-conventional start."
This may sound redundant, but it's not.
If players check "accept adjustment" when creating a character, there's a tiny probability of transforming into something other than an undead, such as a demon... and participate immersively in ongoing storylines!
After the first death, players with a non-conventional start will switch to a conventional start, resurrecting at the Newbie Square in the Great Graveyard with Contribution Points and Joss Paper as undead.
As it stands, they are all lucky, though the misfortune lay in the empty adjustment, as Corpse Ghosts are only one level above undead.
[Lonely as Blood]: "... If my understanding of the plot is correct, we should be Holy Spirits."
[Burning Skin Inflammation]: "What is that?"
[Lonely as Blood]: "Last spring's expansion pack, check it on the official website."
[Burning Skin Inflammation]: "What do we do now?"
[Lonely as Blood]: "Not sure, maybe the Salvation Army is nearby? Let's check the forest first."
In the blink of an eye, some thirty "Holy Spirits" had already stood at the barracks entrance, all looking around curiously.
Some were shadowboxing, others taking their pants off, or jumping around.
In short, none were acting normal.
As they spoke, it seemed a figure emerged from the distant forest, waving in their direction.
The players' eyes lit up; the newbie guide had finally arrived, and they jogged over happily.
Some not only ran over but also picked up scattered shovels and firearms.
