The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!

Chapter 1815 - 503: The “Holy Mark” Beneath the Twilight (Part 3)

Regarding the inquiry from Lord Demon King, Sarah naturally spoke candidly, her cat ears atop her head gently swaying as she explained everything she knew in detail.

It is quite apparent.

Mr. Himenes from the Holy City was not working smoothly; the more those soldiers in black robes strove to capture heretics, the stronger the resentment from the lower-class civilians towards the Judicial Court became.

And all of that was hidden beneath a veneer of forbearance. People exchanged glances on the streets, using their eyes to communicate mutual dissatisfaction, yet dared not express it to the priests.

Some discussions about the "New Testament" had already emerged, and although there were many versions, they shared a common core—

That is, "Everyone is a Priest."

Quite a number of people began proactively venturing to the depths of the Ten Thousand Ridges Mountain Range to find remnants of the Salvation Army, seeking refuge from the Judicial Court's suppression… Among them, some were even actively led there by Brennan's subordinates.

Luo Yan was very satisfied with the performance of these pawns, seeing the string of a bow being gradually drawn tight.

The arrow was already aimed at the target, merely waiting to be released.

Now that the main business was discussed, the atmosphere in the warehouse lightened up a bit, the frequency of Sarah's cat ears swaying became relaxed.

Perhaps sensing the change in atmosphere, Sarah hesitated for a moment and suddenly spoke softly, her voice carrying a tinge of caution.

"Lord Demon King, may I ask you a question?"

Luo Yan responded casually.

"Go ahead and ask."

A flicker of joy appeared in Sarah's eyes, barely perceptible, as she spoke rapidly.

"How have you been lately? Without me by your side to take care of you… Have you grown accustomed? Has Taufu been bothering you?"

This didn't quite sound like a question.

Thinking of Vivian still stirring in the yard, Luo Yan's expression was somewhat subtle as he sighed lightly.

"That is truly a long story."

Sarah hesitated.

"Long story…is it?"

Luo Yan nodded gently, summarizing.

"In short, I miss the times when you were around each and every day."

A faint blush appeared on her fair face, and Sarah lowered her head slightly, concealing that rare shyness and satisfaction in the shadows.

Luo Yan also sensed his statement was somewhat inappropriate, as bringing Prince Colin's persona here seemed somewhat like workplace harassment.

But having already said it, he decided not to retract his words; being indecisive and overly cautious was Nanfu's business.

As for the Demon King—

You just do it, the future epic wouldn't write about these trivial things, would it?

Luo Yan swiftly changed the subject.

"How has Princess Erin been lately?"

Though the fiery flush subsided a bit, Sarah's tone remained even, reverting to the meticulousness of reporting work.

"Princess Erin has been quite compliant recently. She spends most of her time in the loft of the inn, maintaining a one-line contact with Theresa and me. She happened to hear about the unrest in the Campbell Duchy, but after hearing your instructions, she soon calmed down and no longer mentioned returning to the duchy."

"Most of the time?" Luo Yan keenly caught a word.

Sarah nodded slightly, "Yes, she occasionally goes out, using the Alchemy Mask and camouflaging Magic Potion you bestowed upon her, assuming Theresa's identity to move around the city."

"What does she usually do?"

"Mainly to relax, as there's nothing else to do besides reading while perched in the loft every day; she's a woman who can't sit still, constantly thinking of her warhorse—"

"Get to the point."

"Cough, she usually just strolls around the square in front of the adventurer guild, but since the guild hasn't opened recently, there's no one in the square. Occasionally, she goes to the market at the city gates, to procure her living necessities, or to listen to the conversations of the citizens there."

Upon hearing this, Luo Yan nodded.

This wasn't a bad thing.

Although Erin is somewhat of a down-to-earth Lord who frequently mingles where civilians reside, she only moves around Thunder City and Campbell Castle.

Those are the wealthiest regions of the Campbell Duchy, not representative when placed on the Aus Continent.

She should see what other places are like before she can have an objective understanding of feudalism.

Sarah paused for a moment, seemingly choosing her words: "Master, she is currently in the city, won't you greet her?"

Luo Yan looked at Sarah, pondered for a moment, and ultimately shook his head.

"No need, continue to look after her for me… such days should not last too long."

Once the little ancestor from Demon City finishes the winter break, he figured it might be time to arrange some new tasks for Erin.

For now, she still needs some contemplation.

One could say that this winter holiday in Demon City is exceedingly long, hadn't he felt it before?

Was it perhaps due to working and studying at the same time…

Representative Luo Yan couldn't help but muse that the Demon Second Generation from Demon City were indeed too relaxed, they must experience the hardships of "Temple Orphans."

Watching Lord Demon King again begin to worry about the future of the Great Graveyard, Sarah respectfully lowered her head.

"As you command."

At the gates of Twilight City, guards holding Long Halberds stood alert, inspecting each person attempting to enter or leave Twilight City.

At this time, a young female Knight approached the gates, presenting a token she held.

"I am Princess Erin's guard, need to go out to procure supplies."

"So it's Lady Theresa…" Seeing the emblem of Duke Campbell on the token, the guards respectfully saluted and stepped aside.
