The Lord Demon King is Unfathomable!
Chapter 1800 - 500: Letter from the Academic State (Part 2)
However, seeing the rare determined look on Nanfu's face, Luo Yan ultimately chose not to expose him, and instead gave him an encouraging gaze.
"Not every problem in this world has a standard answer. Go find your answer; I have faith in you."
Little Edward needs a defeat to grow, but little Nanfu really needs a win.
Character lasts a lifetime, whereas values can change; by comparison, right and wrong aren't that important.
This, in a way, is Roxey's fault.
Who knows what that guy is up to every day, isn't this equivalent to not teaching anything at all?
Luo Yan felt like he was playing the role of father again for him, perhaps this is fate's mysterious way.
Receiving his older brother's affirmation, a confident blush spread across Nanfu's face.
"I definitely will! Become a mighty and majestic person like Gutaf!"
He said no more, with the phrase "a man's promise," he walked into the dining room with his head held high.
However, his proud chest didn't remain lifted for long; it quickly deflated due to that silvery bell-like laughter...
...
The atmosphere at dinner was unexpectedly harmonious.
Soft candlelight spilled over the white tablecloth, and the long table was full of exquisite dishes.
There was roasted lamb leg with a charred aroma, tender braised oxtail, herb-speckled bread, Nanfu's favorite creamy mushroom soup, and his most disliked cheese-baked snails.
Luo Yan was initially worried that such a "complex" dinner would fall flat.
However, as it turned out, he underestimated Vivian's "dominance".
This 'invincible in Demon City' Demon Second Generation wasn't good at anything else, but she was adept at dealing with other second-gens like her.
Richard and Alfred had completely regarded her as the boss.
They sat upright, awkwardly mimicking Vivian's dining posture, long forgetting the teachings of their etiquette teacher.
They sliced the steak on their plates with exaggerated and evil gestures, as if dissecting the corpse of the Demon King.
Speaking of which, the world of Transcendents is truly incredible; three-year-old Alfred, unbelievably, no longer needed feeding and could use cutlery by himself.
In their eyes, Prince Colin, who managed to "conquer" Vivian, had become the "boss of the boss", a venerated Lord Brave!
This gave Luo Yan a kind of inexplicable pressure.
As for Lino...
This headstrong little princess ignored everyone else and was entirely glued to his younger brother, Nanfu.
You could see her moving her chair close, sitting beside "Gutaf". Although the oldest one, she was too lazy to wield knife and fork herself, resting her chin and smiling while directing her clumsy "Knight".
Or rather, Unicorn.
"Gutaf, I don't want those beans... right, I want that, ah–"
Nanfu's face flushed.
Under Lino's expectant gaze, he stiffly lifted his fork, fulfilling that heavy masculine dignity.
The stern maid stood nearby, eyes nearly popping out, yet didn't dare to admonish the Princess to observe dining etiquette.
After all, Duke hadn't spoken.
Though the Royal servants commanded considerable authority in matters of etiquette, this meager authority had long been broken by the "White-haired Duke's" fearsome reputation established during the Winter Moon civil war.
Disabling three powerful vassals at once was unprecedented in the history of the Aus Continent.
Though Edward did not intimidate his servants, his natural authority was enough to silence any who wished to speak.
Now, aside from his closest advisers, probably only Prince Colin could converse with him equally and naturally.
Although he sometimes felt lonely because of this, compared with other costs, this was the most trivial one.
Seeing these two harmonious families, Edward Campbell couldn't help but show a gratified smile, raising his glass to toast the deep friendship between the Colin family and the Campbell family.
Luo Yan politely toasted Edward back, but in his heart, his anticipation for the opening day of Hell High School rekindled.
Let it start soon.
Perhaps, he should write to the headmaster of the Demon High School as a councilman, seriously discussing the need for Hell to take a winter break.
The Demon Second Generations of Demon City are the pillars of Hell's future, how can they dare fritter away their time at an age when they should be striving?
Fortunately, the dinner at Colin Manor ultimately ended in laughter and the flicker of candlelight.
Outside, the night was deep, and moonlight bathed the garden paths, so picturesque it was like a poetic painting.
Inside the dining room, the chatter gradually thinned out, as Alfred began yawning, entering a sleepy period.
Lino, upon learning they were going home, looked longingly at "Gutaf", asking when they might meet again.
A blushing Nanfu, with unprecedented solemnity, promised her.
"Surely we will!"
As for Richard, he hollered that "he would return". One day, Richard Campbell would become a mighty Hero, as strong as Prince Colin.
Vivian covered her crimson lips with the back of her hand, hiding the fanged corners of her mouth, chuckling "ku ku ku".
The lazy gaze clearly didn't take this weak proclamation seriously.
In her eyes, humans were like bugs...except for the elder brother she venerated.
However, Vivian, much like her brother, did not mock the young people's dreams.
Whenever, having dreams is a good thing.
