Chapter 190: 190: The Troublemaker [2]

Su Mingyuan stormed out of the Lin Family Hall, his face still burning from the humiliation.

Every few steps, he turned toward the Golden Core guard following behind him and angrily complained.

"Why did you force me to bow my head? You made me look like a fool!"

The guard remained silent and continued following him.

He had already explained himself several times, but the young master was too angry to listen.

In recent months, the Su Family had entered one of the weakest periods in its history.

A mysterious Nascent Soul expert had appeared without warning and not only stolen most of the Su Family’s inheritance from their treasury, but had also crippled their Patriarch and several elders in the process.

With their strongest experts injured and their foundations severely damaged, the Su Family had no choice but to shut their doors and remain hidden from the outside world.

Only recently had they finally reopened their gates.

Their prolonged absence had already caused their influence to weaken considerably, and the Su Family needed to remind the other powers that they were still a Rank Eight family that could not be ignored.

To accomplish that, they had sent their young master to participate in the Winter Harvest, accompanied by a Golden Core expert to protect him.

It was meant to be a simple display of their remaining strength.

And what better stage could there be than the Winter Harvest?

Obtaining a place for their young master in the harvesting team had not been difficult.

As, on paper, the Lin and Su Families were bound by marriage, after all, making it relatively easy for the Su Family to secure a position for their young master.

Unfortunately, the young master was easily angered, cared far too much about his pride, and was constantly distracted by beautiful women.

The guard could not help but sigh inwardly.

In a stage where the Su family should be looking for allies, the young master was more proficient in finding foes.

The young master they were counting on to restore their family’s reputation was instead counting on their family’s reputation to back him instead.

After walking for a while, Su Mingyuan suddenly came to a halt as his gaze had fallen upon another beautiful young girl walking through the estate.

Unlike Hei Bing’er, this girl was clearly a cultivator.

The spiritual energy surrounding her body was obvious even to him.

The girl noticed his gaze and turned her head.

The moment their eyes met, her expression immediately changed to one of disgust.

She simply looked away and continued walking.

Su Mingyuan’s face darkened.

Another person treating him like that?

His anger instantly surged and without thinking, he rushed forward and attacked her.

The Golden Core guard’s expression changed.

"Young Master!"

But he was too late. The girl suddenly stopped and turned around to raised her hand.

Pa!

Her palm struck Su Mingyuan directly across the face sending a crisp sound across the place.

The force sent him flying several meters before his body slammed heavily against a nearby wall.

The guard hurriedly rushed over and helped his young master back onto his feet.

The girl calmly stared at Su Mingyuan.

"Is this how the Su Family behaves inside the Lin Family?"

Her lips curled into a mocking smile.

"With only this much strength?"

Su Mingyuan’s face turned red with humiliation.

The guard sighed as he looked at the girl.

"Young Miss, why must you antagonize the entire Su Family over the actions of one child?"

The girl’s expression remained indifferent.

Su Mingyuan clenched his fists.

His eyes had already become watery, but he desperately tried to hold back the tears.

"You..."

His voice trembled with anger.

"My father will hear about this!"

He wiped his eyes roughly and shouted, "I’ll make sure you pay for this!"

The girl suddenly burst into laughter.

"Hahaha!"

She turned around and looked at him over her shoulder.

"My name is Zhaoxi."

Her smile became even more mocking.

"If you’re really strong enough, then come find me for revenge. Don’t be such a baby."

With that, Zhaoxi turned around and walked away without giving him another glance.

Su Mingyuan stood there in silence, his fists trembling at his sides.

The Golden Core guard could only sigh.

This trip to the Lin Family was becoming more troublesome by the minute.

Long after she was gone he shouted toward the direction Zhaoxi had disappeared.

"That bitch! I’m going to kill her! I’ll burn the entire Lin Family to the ground!"

The moment those words left his mouth, the Golden Core guard’s expression changed drastically.

"Young Master, stop talking!"

But before he could say anything else, a tall figure suddenly appeared in front of them.

The man stood nearly six feet tall, his expression calm as he looked down at Su Mingyuan.

"Can I take what you just said as the will of the Su Family?"

The guard’s face turned pale. He immediately stepped forward and tried to stop his young master from saying another word.

"Senior, please—"

BOOM!

Before he could finish, an invisible force descended upon him.

The Golden Core expert was slammed into the ground so hard that cracks spread beneath his body.

His eyes widened in disbelief as he struggled against the overwhelming pressure.

What kind of strength is this?

He had been confident that, as a Golden Core cultivator, he could protect the young master even if something unexpected happened.

Yet now, he could barely move.

He could not even gather enough strength to escape.

The man standing before them had not drawn a weapon or even raised his hand.

He had simply released a trace of his Qi.

And that alone had completely suppressed him.

The guard’s heart sank.

Su Mingyuan felt as though the heavens themselves were playing a cruel joke on him.

Staring at his guard lying helplessly on the ground made him realise how strong this person in front of him was.

One wrong word and the Su family would actually be done for.

His face turned pale as fear replaced his anger.

Tears quickly welled up in his eyes, and he immediately dropped to his knees.

"I’m sorry!"

He slammed his forehead against the ground.

"I’m really sorry!"

His voice trembled as he continued.

"I was blinded by lust and anger! I made a mistake! Please forgive me!"

He struck his forehead against the ground again, his tears mixing with the dust beneath him.

"I didn’t mean it! I was wrong! It is not the will of the Su family but mine alone! Please take out your anger on me, senior."
