The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 1616: Blood Sovereign

Chapter 1616: Blood Sovereign

[Five Minutes Before the Start of the Battle – Elven Capital]

The elves are known for their grand and lavish lifestyle, so it is perfectly normal to see a palace built from the rarest jade, Diamond Jade, standing tall in all its magnificence.

It was the palace of the Elven Empress, a being who had lived through four Eras and reached a realm far beyond that of most Celestials. She was an accomplished warrior and a benevolent ruler.

Aside from that, in the entire universe, she would undoubtedly be ranked among the top ten most beautiful women and the top five most dangerous female warriors.

However, such a person had been rendered powerless by a mere Demigod-owned domain. The sheer insult alone was enough to put a frown on her beautiful face.

For months, her heart had ached for her people’s lives.

However, while she might have been the greatest Empress her people could ask for, she also knew that letting the Heavens Court learn of the minerals discovered within the Sylvaris Planetary System would bring the Elven Empire immeasurable losses.

So, despite her people being trapped behind enemy lines, she simply couldn’t allow their greatest source of income to become the very reason they would one day become minions of the Heavens Court.

She might be one of the key members of the Heavens Council, but she didn’t trust them enough to let them gain such leverage over her.

This was why, when she learned that the Renegade Hunter, who fit every requirement, had accepted the mission, she was overjoyed.

She knew that if the Renegade Hunter could take down the Ebon Sovereign, then her people could swoop in and rescue the hostages.

Once the demon general dies, his domain would also vanish, allowing gods, supremes and even Celestials to swoop in and save the hostages.

However, judging by the frown on her face as she spoke to General Lythariel, who was projected before her, she was furious.

"Did you just say the Renegade Hunter ventured into the Sylvaris Planetary System without assistance from you and your team?"

Empress Korvaxa asked, her brow knitted.

General Lythariel sighed and nodded.

"Yes, Your Majesty. Instead of coming to Planet Seren as I had planned, so we could all depart together for the borders of the Sylvaris Planetary System, he ignored that plan and went there directly. By the time I reached him, he was already preparing to head in.

"My team still hadn’t reached the border, so if anything happens, we wouldn’t be able to help him."

"That arrogant human. Doesn’t he value Elven lives?" Empress Korvaxa gritted her teeth. Even while angry, she looked as radiant as ever.

She had very long silver hair, cherry-red lips, and purple eyes. Just like General Lythariel, she also possessed a rather large bosom and a slightly heavy, voluptuous figure. Her chest was equally bountiful.

Seated throughout the grand hall, all of the elders frowned, clearly furious that Klaus had ventured to Planet Sorat without first waiting for their backup force to arrive.

"My Empress, I believe we should trust him. I only met him briefly, but I can tell that if we fought, he would overpower me in less than ten minutes."

Empress Korvaxa furrowed her brow upon hearing General Lythariel’s words. She had personally witnessed Lythariel fight and knew she was one of the empire’s strongest generals.

Clearly, she had never expected such a prideful general to admit she would lose to Klaus, who was only at the True Immortal stage.

Of course, if General Lythariel had told her that she had already been defeated miserably by him, she would probably have fallen off her throne in sheer horror.

She sighed and was about to say something when the screens suddenly came to life, displaying Klaus surrounded by thousands of warriors.

For a brief moment, she panicked—not for Klaus’s life, but for the lives of her people, who would suffer greatly if Klaus lost this battle.

However, she saw Klaus grin.

The very next second, her face turned pale.

But it wasn’t just her; all over the universe, those watching the battle had similar reactions. They had clearly heard Klaus declare that he was scarier than the Paragon, and then, with his very first movement, everything changed.

The moment he summoned thousands of spirit weapons, all hell broke loose.

Klaus glided across the air, blood trailing behind him as he sliced one demon after another, killing them as though they were nothing more than bugs. The faster he moved, the deadlier he became.

He took on twenty Immortal Lords and two Demon Gods who surrounded him from all sides. However, Klaus merely raised his scythe and slammed its long handle into the empty air beneath him.

"Blood Appendages."

CRACK! CRACK!

Cracks spread beneath the demons, and from within them, countless crimson hands shot out, grabbing hold of the demons before dragging them below.

The next second, they appeared in a crimson world where a tiny human child with two cute horns and long red hair stood in the air, staring at them.

This child was Bloodwork, Klaus’s weapon spirit, who, despite looking like a newborn baby, was actually an ancient weapon spirit that had only recently awakened.

"You losers are in so much trouble," he laughed.

Then, with a wave of his tiny hand, he summoned thousands of blood-forged scythes that materialised around him before surging toward the twenty-two demons.

"Bugs," he smirked and turned away, knowing those people were as good as dead.

Looking up at the crimson clouds where orbs of blood continued to form, a smile spread across his face.

"Big Brother reaps their lives and harvests more blood for me. After this battle, I will break the second seal and unlock even more of my power."

"You know it, Bloodwork. These fuckers are merely stepping stones for your rise," Klaus’s voice entered his ears, causing the already delighted Bloodwork to become even more elated.

Outside, Klaus’s rampage hadn’t slowed down in the slightest. Regardless of who came after him, a single swing of his scythe was enough to send their heads flying.

"Kill this bastard! Someone!" the Ebon Sovereign shouted, his expression twisted in all the wrong ways.

The battle he had envisioned wasn’t unfolding at all. In fact, he had anticipated a scene where Klaus would try to become a hero, only to be brought to his knees with a spear protruding from his forehead.

Instead, what he was witnessing was a madman with strikingly radiant white hair slaughtering his men as though he had been born for nothing but killing. Compared to most demons he had encountered, Klaus looked more like a devil than they did.

Panic had begun to set in, and to make matters worse, the way Klaus’s white hair whipped behind him every time he swung his scythe only seemed to infuriate the Ebon Sovereign even more.

Three of the Demigods wielding bows combined their power to unleash a devastating arrow, one powerful enough to kill even a True God.

"Die, you bastard!"

The arrow exploded forward instantly, drawing Klaus’s attention.

Yet with nothing more than a casual glance, he turned away and continued his rampage as though he had no regard for his own life, or perhaps he simply believed the arrow wasn’t powerful enough to claim it.

However, before the arrow could reach Klaus, a black dagger adorned with golden patterns appeared between them and blocked the attack with astonishing ease.

Seraya—or rather, the Grim Void Blade—slowly turned its tip toward the three Demigods, and at once, they turned pale.

The dagger vanished into the void.

The very next moment, it reappeared behind them, and all three heads exploded like watermelons.

She paused and looked toward the Ebon Sovereign. But as though amused by his terror, she vanished once more and continued slaughtering everyone else, saving the bastard for her master, who many had started calling the Blood Sovereign
