The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

Chapter 1613: Do Not Apologise

Chapter 1613: Do Not Apologise

During the Blood Era, Asura committed one of the biggest mistakes of his life.

He had just become the Asura God and had begun leading his warriors to confront the threats plaguing the universe, something all Asura borns pledged to do as warriors.

As one of the few who knew the universe wasn’t safe, he made sure that every action he took worked toward one goal after another, all focused on making the universe a better place.

However, while this was happening, enemies were also scheming behind the scenes. One of these enemies was the Three Elemental Succubus Queen, who had been employed by a high-ranking member of the Elven race, who is also a member of the Heavens Court, to poison Asura.

Exactly 20,000 years after Blood Sword became the Asura God, he travelled to the Elven Empire on a diplomatic mission. He wanted to form an alliance with the Elves to handle threats that the universe wasn’t prepared for.

While there, he had a run-in with a group of seven powerful warriors known as the Chaste Maidens. They were the pride and joy of the Elven Empress due to their unique cultivation technique and unparalleled strength on the battlefield.

They cultivated the Eternal Purity Elemental Art. This cultivation method required only two things: elemental affinity and purity.

This purity wasn’t only about being a virgin but also about having a pure heart, mind, and soul. With pure bodies, minds, hearts, and souls, they managed to become Supremes, seven of the most dangerous warriors the Elves possessed.

However, the night after they met, all seven of them, along with Asura, were poisoned—not with a lethal poison, but with one of the most potent aphrodisiacs ever created.

That night, against all odds and despite every ounce of self-control, Asura slept with all seven of them.

When day broke, and he saw what he had done, he cried.

Why?

Because he recognised the potential of the seven Chaste Maidens and knew that if they could reach the Celestial Stage and fully awaken their Pure Innate Heart, Body, Soul, and Mind, as they had told him, they would have become pillars far more dangerous than any warrior in the Elven Empire.

He wanted that future for them, but with his mistake, he had tainted them. Millions of years of dedication had been destroyed, and on top of that, the Divine Calamity Curse was bestowed upon them, a curse that would plague them for the rest of their lives.

The Elven Empress was furious. She immediately cancelled the alliance with the Asura race and banished all Asura-born from her empire. Aside from that, she also placed the largest bounty on Asura’s head, one that sparked the campaign to destroy the Asura race.

But it didn’t end there.

When the Asura Queen learned of what had happened, she was so furious that she nearly killed Asura. However, she eventually managed to calm down, but for the next 150,000 years, she never spoke to him.

What he had done was vile and deeply painful to any woman.

Later, when the truth came out and Asura was finally cleared of all wrongdoing, the damage had already been done, and there was no turning back.

His credibility and reputation had already taken a devastating hit, and most importantly, the Chaste Maidens had already been ruined.

However, millions of years later, when the Asura race was under attack from the Heavens Court and all other races, they returned to aid them. They had been wronged, but after witnessing everything Asura had endured because of his mistake, they forgave him and came to fight by his side.

They fell in that battle, and the last thing Asura said before he, too, reincarnated was, "I am sorry, ladies."

This regret had plagued him for years, to the point that part of his memories had been sealed. He had no idea what he had forgotten until he laid eyes on General Lythariel today. She was one of the seven Chaste Maidens.

Looking into her teary eyes, Klaus felt something inside him break.

He had just restored her memories, and so the pain of the past had returned to her. However, knowing what he had cost her, Klaus walked back and sat down, giving General Lythariel the space she needed to come to terms with what had happened.

Klaus had brought her into the Demon Bead. Inside it, Icon had built a majestic mansion, and they were now in one of the rooms.

It took her ten full minutes to come to terms with her restored memories. Afterwards, she stood up and walked toward Klaus. Despite being naked, with only her pants on, she didn’t care.

She walked toward Klaus, took his hand, pulled him to his feet, then rose onto her tiptoes and planted a kiss on his lips.

"You do not have to apologise, Lord Asura," she said, a smile filled with both pain and joy appearing on her face.

"But—" Klaus tried to speak, but she covered his lips with hers.

"It is all in the past now, Lord Asura. What happened belongs to the past. We have long forgiven you, so do not apologise for anything." She smiled weakly.

"If we hadn’t forced you to celebrate Kalimi’s birthday with us that day, none of this would have happened. Besides, we weren’t forced by you. Under the intoxicating effects of the aphrodisiac, we forced ourselves on you, so it is okay."

Klaus tried to speak, but no words came out.

Just now, he had thought of 12,045 ways to apologize, and every single one ended with him reaching the conclusion that none of them would ever be enough.

Now, it seemed he had nothing left to worry about. They had forgiven him, so he, too, had to forgive himself. What happened in the past had long since passed.

What he needed to focus on now was whether he wanted to keep moving forward or allow his regrets to pull him back.

---

Seated inside a spaceship with her sisters as they headed toward the Beast Universe, a teardrop fell from Queenie’s eye when, out of nowhere, memories of the past came flooding back.

Within those memories, she saw how she had allowed her anger to blind her to the truth and had nearly killed the one person she loved.

Even more heartbreaking, she saw how she had punished her husband for 150,000 years when she should have stood by his side and helped him uncover the truth.

Recalling the countless moments when she would find Asura sitting quietly, lost in deep thought, sometimes even slapping himself in self-loathing, more tears rolled down her face.

Seeing this, her sisters brought her into Asha’s Insect Domain, where she finally broke down and cried.

The weight of those memories shattered her emotionally.

She knew she should have trusted her man more. While part of her reaction had naturally stemmed from her nature as an Asura, she never should have doubted her husband the way she did.

Even if she had her doubts, she shouldn’t have pushed him away as everyone else had. She should have stood by his side and helped him uncover the truth.

But countless years had already passed since then, and although they had eventually reconciled, she now blamed herself for being too blind to see the conspiracy that unfolded right before her eyes.

Thankfully, her sisters were with her. They did everything they could to comfort her, and after several hours, she finally managed to calm down.

However, they all knew the remainder of the mission would have to be handled by them alone, as the Asura Queen needed time to recover from the heartbreak that those restored memories had reopened.
