Chapter 1471: Heading Out
Chapter 1471: Heading Out
After Slate was done, they began their journey eastward, where the Immortal Essence Water can be found.
Klaus was more than prepared to face any danger with his team, so as they quickly advanced, he kept his senses sharp, ready to jump in and defend his team from any threat.
They may be immortal lords, but since they had been suppressed, he had to step up and cover their blind spots.
Thankfully, even after moving for 2 hours, no beast attacked them. But they kept moving with their guard up. Soon, they felt the air around them start to heat up.
"Stop..." Klaus raised his hand to stop them.
They stopped, all five of them going on high alert. They all raised their guards and prepared for battle.
Klaus tapped his foot on the ground, and ripples spread out, scanning the vastness of the area.
Using divine sense, he saw nothing. However, the ripple found its target, and it was enormous.
"Rory, take to the air and be ready to open fire."
She nodded and flew up. Just then, a loud roar came from 500 meters away. Klaus smiled and turned to Echo. "Use space magic to augment your ice attacks. It will make them more robust and extremely fast."
She nodded and started forming attack patterns in her head. By then, the beast moved and started knocking down trees as it advanced toward them.
Up in the air, Rory’s eye landed on a large centipede that made her skin crawl, so without any delay, she released an arrow, landing a powerful, piercing attack on its head.
The arrow pierced its thick skin and embedded itself in its body. However, it was incinerated the next second by a green flame, causing Rory to frown.
"It has great flame mastery, so don’t underestimate it." Klaus said and turned to Omen and Slate. "Let’s go. We will go in for close combat."
They nodded and moved.
Omen brandished his sword, flames igniting around it. Slate, however, tapped into the wind and moved with blinding speed. His spear was coated in both scaly armor and poison.
Klaus, on the other hand, extended his hand, and [Bloodwork], his deadly blood-sucking scythe, appeared in his grip.
A faint mist of blood coiled around it, humming with power.
"Soon, buddy, soon we will break the first seal and awaken your soul." Brushing his other hand against it as if to reassure the slumbering soul in his scythe, he vanished into thin air.
The next time he appeared, he was standing on the flaming back of the centipede, his feet covered in ice.
His hand moved, and the razor-sharp blade of the scythe sank into its back, blood gushing out.
Omen and Slate had also arrived and attacked, Omen’s sword cutting a deep wound to its side, while Slate left both a cut and poison. Naturally, the centipede let out a roar that would put even a dragon to shame.
The poison entered its body, corroding it from within. While it might be a Calamity Beast, meaning immortal rings wouldn’t work on it, the situation was different now.
It was only at the Immortal Monarch stage, so an immortal ring from an Immortal Lord sure was bound to have some effect.
So Slate’s attack was lethal to it, and so were the other attacks landing on it.
Rory found her mark again, and Echo also manifested ten deadly spears made from ice and hurled them at the centipede. With space essence augmenting them, they stabbed deep into its body, causing it to roar in pain.
Ten minutes later, the centipede had lost over 80% of its vitality.
While it was a bit devastating to think a bunch of True Immortals could do this much damage, the main reason they were a bit faster now was because of Klaus’s weapon, Bloodwork.
Since it was devouring the blood, the centipede was losing more blood than it could regenerate. This pushed it into a corner.
Due to this, 15 minutes later, yet another Calamity Beast was killed, and Omen was handed the core this time.
Since their second encounter for the day was also a Calamity Beast, Klaus knew they were bound to meet more of them soon. This also meant they would have the chance to harvest more cores.

The 7th Jade Princess and her team also arrived inside the jade nest with a welcome package prepared for them. The first thing they saw when they appeared was a large shadow, filled with thick suppression.
"Huh."
For a moment, the sigh, thinking it was a shadow of a tree. However, Jade Princess looked up, and there, her gaze landed on a large bird, its wings ending in metallic spikes.
"Well, we have to run...like now."
A pair of wings, fashioned from blue colored wind element, appeared on her back, and she vanished, her four teammates following her the next moment.
"Use your immortal rings to amplify your speed. We cannot kill that bird, so we might as well escape." She wasn’t about to act arrogant and think she had what it took to fight a demigod.
Yes, the beast is a demigod-level Calamity Beast. Even if she were at the Immortal Lord stage, the opponent is not a target she and her teammates could handle.
Unfortunately, the opponent is a demigod who specializes in flight and aerial combat.
It took just a few seconds of flying for them to realize they wouldn’t be able to escape the calamity they had found themselves in.
"Princess, let’s split up. At least one of us will be able to lead it away." One of her teammates suggested, seeing the colossal bird coming after them.
Its wingspan is about 500 meters wide. Every flap propels it forward with devastating speed, pushing it closer to them.
"That won’t be necessary, Via. Just keep flying for now."
In her hand, a boat-like item glowed green and kept glowing as they flew forward. Behind them, the bird closed in with every flap.
The boat item continued to glow for 30 seconds before suddenly expanding into a sleek, green flying boat. Three pairs of wings appeared on the side and flapped, causing the void to shatter.
The Jade Princess jumped in at once.
"Hurry, we don’t have much time."
They jumped in, and just when the last of them did, a large metallic beak came stabbing at them. Perhaps the bird saw that its prey was about to get away, so it made a desperate move to stop them.
However, the moment the last person stepped on the boat, the void opened, and the boat vanished inside, and it closed behind them.
The bird screeched loudly, a clear indication that it was furious.
However, there was nothing there to be furious about, so it went after its prey. It also opened a void channel and entered, pursuing the five bugs that thought they could escape it.

Somewhere else, a five-man team appeared in the Nest, their expressions shrouded in mystery. They wore masks, keeping their identities hidden. However, if Klaus were to see the one with the green gloves, he would recognize him.
He was the man who flashed him the killing gesture just when they were about to enter the Jade Nest.
The moment they appeared, they all went on high alert. After a few seconds, and seeing they were in no danger, one of them retrieved a digital map.
After staring at the red-marked location, he put it away.
"We are roughly 72 hours from the location. Let’s hurry and get there fast before anyone beats us to it."
They nodded, and before long, they were gone, jumping from one shadow to another.
