Chapter 1396: Warrior X Hunter (6)
Chapter 1396: Warrior X Hunter (6)
Klaus stood up, a smile on his face.
Rouni frowned even more deeply, a wave of panic settling in. Seeing the smile on Klaus’s face and the mere fact that he was now on his feet made him even more uneasy.
He couldn’t help but wonder if Klaus had figured out a way to break the formation.
But that was just impossible, so he wiped it from his mind. Entertaining such a thought is an insult to the creator of the technique.
"No need to wonder, I have indeed figured out a way to break your technique." Klaus’s bold words resonated with everyone, and they just couldn’t believe their ears.
"Did he just say he can break the [Beast God Dominion]?" Supreme Engineer Winnie asked, her expression filled with shock.
"That is indeed what he just said," Supreme Scholar Demel responded, also wearing a stunned expression.
"But that is impossible, right? Nobody has ever managed to break the [Beast God Dominion]."
"Yes, it is indeed true. But you are forgetting who is using it now. Rouni has only limited control over it. It can be said that he has just 1% control over it.
So, breaking it if one knows what they are doing would be possible. But the question still remains: has the Renegade Hunter really managed to learn all 1 million arrays Rouni had mastered? And if he indeed learned all, how then would it help him break the entire formation?"
Hearing what Scholar Demel said, everyone was left wondering many things. They couldn’t quite place their finger on just what gave Klaus the confidence to say such words.
However, seeing him standing there with a smile on his face, some of them were inclined to believe him.
"You are bluffing," Rouni said, staring daggers into Klaus’s eyes.
"I don’t bluff, my friend. I have indeed figured out how to break your formation. If you don’t believe me, we can place a bet."
"On what?"
"On the fact that I can indeed break your formation within a minute. If I can’t, I will accept defeat. If I manage to break it, you will accept defeat. Of course, if you don’t want to, then I will gladly show you I can do more than break it."
"I don’t have time for bets," Rouni rejected his offer, but Klaus didn’t seem pissed. He waved his hand, and a rune knife appeared in his hand.
"Then watch carefully what I can do because this is the only chance you will get to see greatness at work."
Just as Klaus said that, his expression changed, and then three more copies of himself appeared. The next moment, they started drawing array symbols (runes) in the air.
Rouni wanted to attack, but he hesitated and stopped himself. A part of him wanted to see if Klaus could indeed dismantle his technique.
After a minute, if he failed to break it, he would resume his attacks. Of course, a minute is enough time to catch his breath.
Everyone wanted to see if he could indeed do it. So as the seconds ticked down, they held their breath, all waiting to see the outcome.
Exactly 54 seconds later, Klaus stopped, and the clones vanished. In the air, thousands of runes hovered. He took a deep breath, and then a smile appeared on his face.
"Now, watch how I break your technique." Klaus pointed toward the formation, and the runes began to move. A second later, they started merging with the formation at random points.
At first, nothing happened. However, just as the last rune merged with it, the formation shuddered, then changed color from green to red.
Rouni, who was hovering in the air, suddenly fell, slamming into the ground with a thunderous boom. A large crater appeared where he landed, causing trillions of gasps to spread across the universe.
"Sorry about that. I wanted to destroy the formation, but before that, why don’t I defeat you with your own technique?" Klaus rose slowly into the air, and when he was high enough, he pointed forward.
At once, 100,000 arrays moved from the formation and formed into a large serpent about 2 km long. Then, under everyone’s stunned gaze, Klaus finally activated his Immortal Ring, transforming the serpent into a real one.
HISSSS
It let out a powerful hiss, causing the air to tremble.
"It is too bad you aren’t a hunter, and I am not a warrior. We would have been a great team." After saying that, Klaus gestured forward, and the serpent moved.
A second later, Rouni’s body disintegrated, leaving not even a bone behind.
The serpent circled around before merging back into the formation. Afterwards, Klaus used his finger to draw one rune.
"Such a powerful formation. If I can get my hands on the complete version, wouldn’t that be good?"
The rune flew toward the formation and merged with it.
"Until next time." A crack appeared in the formation, and soon it fractured, then dispersed into thin air.
All over the arena, everyone became quiet, their eyes widened like saucers. There is just no way they expected Klaus to actually have what it took to break the formation.
Even worse, he managed to take control of it and use it flawlessly to kill Rouni. That is just too much to take in. Even the five Supreme were left in shock.
"That was unexpected," Supreme Scholar Demel muttered. Then he turned toward Supreme Engineer Winnie. "Looks like your academy will be getting an intelligent formation expert soon."
She nodded but said nothing. Inwardly, she was still in shock from witnessing how Klaus managed to take over the [Beast God Dominion].
In the billions of years she had lived, this was the first time she was impressed by someone to the point she couldn’t even speak.
Scholar Demel, who knew just how chatty Engineer Winnie could be, noticed her abnormal behaviour and immediately deduced that something was wrong.
"What is it, Winnie?"
"I don’t know. I just don’t know what to think." She sighed. "You all saw the runes he used, right?"
All four Supremes nodded.
"Those are Ancient Runes, every last one of them."
"WHAT?"
"That is impossible."
"That was what I said to myself, but despite straining my mind to see if I could see something else, it all ended in the fact that he indeed used Ancient Runes, something not even the best of us can do.
Ancient Runes are the bedrock of modern formations, arrays, and artisanship. Throughout history, only one person was able to master them all, and she died several billion years ago."
"The Formation Queen."
"Yes. She is the mother of formations, and she used Ancient Runes in her craft. Nobody knew where those came from, but after her death, we began to derive the modern runes we use from her works.
However, the Renegade Hunter had somehow managed to learn them and used them flawlessly. The Paragon may be a monster among monsters, but not even he could do such a thing."
The five Supremes turned and looked at Klaus, smiling and waving to his fans as they cheered his win. For a moment, a thought crossed their minds, but they quickly dismissed it.
However, since he had just lost, Supreme Elder Juo asked. He was pissed and a bit angry that Rouni lost to Klaus.
"What if he is the Paragon?"
"That is impossible. The Heavens Court has already checked him, and he came out clean. But if you are not convinced, know that we will check him thoroughly when he comes to the academy just to be sure."
Hearing this, he couldn’t help but sigh.
