Chapter 1219: Grabbing a Bite
Chapter 1219: Grabbing a Bite
Some time later, Klaus left the bank with a smile on his face.
He is fuckin loaded now. And as they say, when the cash lands in the account, spending is the next course of action.
Depositing 2 God Crystals into his account had now given him more than enough to spend on anything.
One God Crystal is 400 billion universe coins or 40 million Heavens Crystals. Klaus now has 800 billion universe coins, and that is nothing compared to what he has left.
Still, that is more than enough for him to spend now.
The senior didn’t just leave him with God Crystals; there are others, too, that he will have to travel to claim.
Of course, Klaus was in shock when he found out about the stash the senior had left him. He never saw him to be that wealthy. But with this grace, he can only be happy.
Now, all he can do is be grateful he had met someone like the senior. Worrying about money is the least of his problems at the moment.
Of course, he is not the wealthiest, but he is not poor either.
He will deposit the rest when he has something he wants to buy.
“I am starving,” Klaus said, looking around to see if he could spot a restaurant.
Thankfully, Icon was a step ahead of him.
⟪I have spotted 12 five-star restaurants within a 30-mile radius of this bank.⟫
“Oh. In that case, take us to the nearest one.”
Icon gave him the direction, and they started walking toward it. It was just 2 km away, so Klaus and Maud chose to walk.
Along the way, Klaus noticed a few more things. He noticed the vehicles on the roads did not have tires. They merely floated inches above the ground.
“This place is awesome. I will bring Ohema here later when she is ready to establish herself in the universal business market.”
Among his wives, only Ohema plans to focus less on her warrior career and instead create a business empire that will help his man and sisters in ways warriors can’t. With an empire, Earth too becomes safe to some extent, allowing Klaus to worry less and go on his adventures.
She has more sisters to help her every step of the way.
After walking for a few minutes, Klaus and Maud arrived at the restaurant.
“Butter Me Restaurant,” Klaus let a smile appear on his lips as he looked at the restaurant’s name. “Looks like sense of humor is everywhere.”
The moment they approached the door, it opened, and they entered.
“Welcome to Butter Me Restaurant. Please have a seat; a waiter will be right with you.”
Klaus nodded and walked toward an empty table. He pulled the chair back for Maud to sit first, then did.
Klaus wanted to say something, but before the words could come out of his mouth, the waiter walked to their table.
“Please, what will be your order today?” She placed a screen on the table that displayed all the food they were serving today.
Klaus selected what he would have, and Maud did the same. Soon, the food was served, and Klaus smiled, looking at Maud.
“So how are you going to eat, considering you have never taken your veil off?”
Maud stared at Klaus for a few seconds, then she picked up her spoon and took a scoop of the food. Then, raising her veil slightly, she put the food in her mouth.
“Convenient, I guess.” Klaus smiled, and then he too started eating his food. Though he was disappointed that his attempt to see Maud’s true face failed, the food at least smells nice.
He can go another ten thousand years without food, but since he wants to live a little, indulging in mundane stuff is good for his humanity, too.
Soon, Klaus had cleared most of his plates while Maud was still on one, eating elegantly and with poise.
Klaus picked a wine from the table and took a sip. Just as he set the glass down, two people walked toward their table and stopped, looking at him with disgusting expressions.
“Eating with a fairy, and you couldn’t even maintain some gentleness. What a waste,” one of them spoke, wearing a frown and disdain toward Klaus.
He was a Verdant Human, mostly called Verdantkin. He had green-tinted skin and emerald eyes.
The second was also of the same race but with bright amber eyes. He also sneered, then turned toward Maud and spoke.
“Such a beauty as yourself should not be seated with a mundane and a disgrace of a man like this loser. My young master over there extends his invitation and would love to have a more polished lunch with you.
Don’t worry, we will gladly take this fool off your hands.”
Maud paused mid-bite and looked at the handsome young Verdantkin who had sent his men to their table. As for Klaus, he took a bite of the meat and started chewing with no care in the world.
This sight further angered the two people. However, seeing Maud take an interest in their young master made them relax a bit.
After examining the young man, Maud said nothing and continued to eat her food. The two humans became puzzled. Nobody in their right mind will be this indifferent toward their young master.
One of them wanted to say something, but Klaus cut him off.
“I may not have the same decorum as you losers, but I know if you hit on a woman and she ignores you, that is her way of saying I am not interested, so shoo.”
Because they were blocking his view, Klaus had to move his head to the left before he saw the young master who sent his goons to mess with him.
He then smiled and gave him a thumbs down while shaking his head.
After conveying his message, he turned to the two humans and said in a mocking tone, “That will be all. You can run along.”
At that very moment, everyone inside the restaurant stood up and began walking out. Klaus didn’t know why, but it seemed they all wanted nothing to do with what was about to happen.
Naturally, Klaus had already seen this coming from the moment they entered the restaurant.
However, dealing with two Empyreans and a Core Formation young master, he knew they weren’t in any way qualified to even stand before him.
In no time, every last one, even the waiters, ran away, some standing miles away to watch the restaurant go up in flames.
“Die.”
Just when Klaus was about to take another bite of his meat, one of the Empyrean stage warriors standing over his head like he owned them attacked with a spear.
However, the spear stopped mid-strike when something extremely dangerous took hold of his body. The second Empyrean didn’t even have the chance to attack since his body couldn’t move.
Klaus took a bite of his food and then flicked his finger, sending the bone flying.
The young master, who was only at the Core Formation stage, was struck in the neck and collapsed into his chair harmlessly.
Maud didn’t even seem to bat an eye.
Before they sat down to eat, Klaus had already spotted these losers and told her about them. Maud wanted to make them disappear right away, but Klaus told her not to dirty her hands.
As a man, he wanted to take out the trash. Of course, he wasn’t about to create a scene, which he knew would create a much bigger problem, so Klaus chose to go the easy way and used his illusion abilities to take care of it.
With everyone frozen, Klaus and Maud continued their food for a few more minutes before they were done. Klaus tapped his bank card on the table’s screen and paid for the food.
He even left a generous gift.
Then he turned to Maud, “Why don’t you wait outside? The next part is not pleasant for you to see.”
Maud said nothing and walked away.
