Chapter 1210: Void Battle
Chapter 1210: Void Battle
While the battle on the outside heated up, Klaus made his presence known to the immortal…
“Immortal coming after mere mortals, what a waste.”
The immortal turned toward the direction the voice came from. There, his gaze landed on Klaus, who stood calmly holding a long, jagged sword.
“Who are you?” he asked, looking pissed.
“You really are dull. The beautiful ladies told you to run before it is too late, yet you are asking me who I am.”
“So you are the one that I should run from.” He scoffed, looking at Klaus and his weak cultivation level. “I will do you one better. How about you stab yourself in the heart before I’m done with it?”
Klaus smiled weakly… “Looks like now that you have located your prey, you seem to have forgotten how you got here.”
This time, the immortal seemed to have realized something. ’He pulled me into the void. But how? He is just a Life Stage Warrior.’ He thought and tried to say something.
However, before he could say anything, a powerful mind attack slammed into his fragile mind, causing him to scream…
“AAaaarrrgghhhH!”
Klaus didn’t wait for him to recover. He lunged at him, aiming for quick close combat to see how he could contend against an immortal.
His 70,000% boost to agility kicked in, making his speed explosive. He closed in an instant and unleashed a wide swing.
There is a reason why mortals have no business fighting immortals. The gap is too wide… So Klaus, despite being inside the void where he is nearly invincible, is very cautious not to fall into any trap.
Immortals are cunning.
He had fought millions of them before, and so he knew not to slack off.
The immortal blocked the strike with his bare hand, sparks flying as metal met divine skin.
’Oh, as expected, he has already completed his first immortal tempering cycle.’ The force pushed him back a few steps.
’Good thing I didn’t stab him and went for the other guy. My sword would have bounced off his skin.’ Klaus unleashed a few more attacks, further pushing the immortal back.
Suddenly, just when Klaus’s sword came down, aiming for his heart, a kick came from the immortal, sending him flying back.
“A mere mortal dares to challenge me?” His speed exploded as he closed in on Klaus. Just when he appeared before Klaus, a sword came from nowhere and stabbed toward him.
He halted his step and crossed his arms on his chest, defending against the sword. The force of the stab pushed him back a few meters, causing his arms to shake.
Klaus managed to distance himself and rethink his strategy.
’He is faster, perceptive, and strong. I need to engage in long-distance battle.’
Klaus put away the sword, and a bow appeared in his hands. Golden lightning surged from his body, enveloping the bow.
As the Divine Archer who led the immortals in their battle against the Gods during the Divine Era, Klaus has a good handle on the bow.
Aside from that, he is also a Weapons Overlord, so he can wield any weapon he touches.
Klaus pulled the bowstring, causing more of the golden lightning to surge. A golden arrow formed, crackling with lightning.
Klaus applied some void law to increase the speed before releasing it with a powerful pull.
The arrow tore through the void, splitting the air. If this arrow were shot at a mortal, they wouldn’t know where it came from or when it arrived.
However, the immortal casually raised his hand, blocking it with his palm. Sparks burst, sending a shockwave through the void.
Klaus fired again. This time, three arrows appeared at once. Each carried a trail of thunder that burned with fury.
The immortal dodged two, but the third hit his shoulder, burning a hole through his robe. However, while the arrow clearly landed on his shoulder, not even a mark appeared on his skin.
’I forgot how strong an immortal body is.’ Klaus smiled weakly as he fired three more arrows.
He is a skilled archer after all, so merely testing the waters while his brain and Icon do their thing, finding ways to use the void to kill him, is within his grasp.
“You have some skill, mortal,” the immortal said, his tone cold.
“You do know calling me mortal isn’t going to help you, right? I have locked this void, so unless you kill me, you cannot leave.” Klaus fired another arrow. “And as you know, I have no plans on dying here today.”
“On the contrary, you will be the one doing the dying.”
Klaus stomped on an invisible ground, and an arrow burst out of the ground. It was three meters long, lined with several runes.
The moment the immortal saw the arrow, his expression changed.
He formed a hand seal, and a shield formed from immortal energy covered him.
“That won’t save you.”
Klaus locked the arrow in the bow and pulled the bowstring… “First Arrow of Condemnation.”
The void shook, and on the outside, cracks appeared in the air as Klaus released the arrow.
The immortal, perhaps sensing the danger coming at him, formed three more seals, manifesting a three-layered defense to block the arrow.
However, Klaus winked and formed a seal with one hand. “Void Shift.”
The immortal widened his eyes as he forcefully twisted his body, allowing the arrow that ignored—or more like teleported through—his defense to land on his shoulder.
This time, his thick skin couldn’t handle the arrow, so he was pierced clean, leaving something small behind for him to worry about.
“Poison.”
The immortal muttered, his expression turning ugly.
“No need to look dull, bro. It is just something that will kill you in three hours’ time.” Klaus grinned. “You have plenty of time to avenge your death.”
The mocking smile on Klaus’s face triggered the immortal, causing him to unleash his aura.
Klaus was pushed back, but the smirk on his face remained.
’Took the bait. Now use more strength so you can die quickly.’ Klaus smiled and tapped into the void energy and started firing more normal arrows at the immortal, who was now chasing and defending against the arrows coming at him.
Suddenly, he disappeared in a flash, reappearing behind Klaus. In that instant, his moving fist was coated in a potent immortal aura and aimed for Klaus’s back.
Tracking him and defending are two different things. Klaus saw him punch, but he was out of time to defend.
Nevertheless, Klaus twisted quickly, summoning a wall of lightning. The impact shook the air, pushing them apart. Klaus coughed up blood, but he smiled.
’I love the void.’
On the outside, a fist coated with an immortal aura would have dealt serious damage to his body. However, inside the void, with his 70,000% boost in defense, he only coughed blood.
Klaus took a deep breath. ’His teleportation speed is faster than I expected,’ he thought.
The immortal appeared again, this time with glowing fists.
He swung hard, aiming to end the ant that dared poison him. Klaus dodged, but the shockwave still sent him skidding back.
Thanks to being pushed back, Klaus released another arrow, this one glowing brighter than before. It exploded midair, scattering hundreds of smaller bolts.
The immortal shielded himself, but Klaus had already calculated a dozen ways to take advantage of this, and so he moved, the void aiding his speed.
