THE LAST KEEPER

Chapter 418: BREAKTHROW IN THE DEEP SILVER

  • Next Chapter

Hundreds of feet beneath the surface of the Endless Pool, absolute darkness gave way to a vast floor of polished black granite.

Webs of luminous silver light pulsed through the subterranean bedrock, glowing like ancient veins of liquid starfire.

Sagiri drifted slowly through the silent water, his body suspended in the center of a swirling vortex of abyssal silver currents.

The freezing water pressed against his chest with immense weight, forcing the raging fire inside his organs to a sudden, violent standstill.

Inside his spiritual channels, three massive, conflicting forces were locked in a brutal struggle for dominance.

The pure, ancient darkness of the N’folu Archive clashed against the heavy earth density of the absorbed southern relics.

Worse still, the erratic silver void energy left behind from Kiana’s needles was ripping across his pathways like jagged glass.

A silent scream escaped Sagiri’s lips underwater, sending a cloud of silver bubbles rushing toward the dark surface above.

The pain of reforging his cellular matrix was far greater than any wound he had suffered on the battlefield.

Every muscle fiber was being torn apart and rebuilt by the crushing pressure of the sacred northern pool.

Sagiri gritted his teeth, refusing to let his consciousness slip into the comforting numbness of death.

He focused his mind on the faces of his companions—Kaka holding the northern line, Kiuga’s calm strategy, Lira’s gentle smile, and Azir’s proud salute.

"I will not break," Sagiri resolved within the quiet depths of his soul. "My people need their Keeper."

Drawing upon the newly unlocked ancestral harmony from N’folu, Sagiri opened his spiritual core to the surrounding water.

Instead of fighting the abyssal currents, he allowed the luminous silver streams to flow freely through his open pores.

The sacred waters of Galka acted as an ancient alchemical catalyst, wrapping around the wild void energy inside his chest.

Slowly and methodically, the pool’s silver resonance began to weave Kiana’s foreign void traces directly into his spiritual matrix.

On his back, Nokai’s twenty floating blades broke free from their sheath, arranging themselves in a wide, rotating circle around his body.

The dark obsidian blades drank hungrily from the luminous silver veins rising from the granite floor.

Thin, brilliant lines of silver fire began to etch themselves across the black steel of each floating blade, glowing with intense clarity.

A resonant, crystalline chime vibrated through the deep water as Nokai underwent a profound ancestral transformation.

The dark relic had successfully assimilated the Sekana clan’s silver void arts, giving birth to the Silver-Veined Void Blade.

With this breakthrough, the blades could now phase seamlessly through physical barriers, sever spatial energy, and disrupt dark seals with surgical precision.

As the final silver vein locked into Nokai’s metal, the violent storm raging within Sagiri’s chest dissolved into absolute stillness.

His damaged pathways sealed shut, reinforced with unbreakable silver-black resilience that balanced the crushing weight of the absorbed relics.

His mortal vessel was finally stabilized, his life force burning with a calm, terrifying equilibrium.

Sagiri opened his dual eyes underwater.

His left eye burned with deep crimson authority, while his right eye shone with brilliant, radiant void silver.

He extended his right hand, and all twenty Silver-Veined Void Blades collapsed instantly into a single, gleaming dark sword in his grasp.

Sagiri planted his feet against the ancient bedrock and pushed upward with explosive strength.

The water parted effortlessly around his body as he shot toward the surface like a silver spear of light.

Sagiri breached the surface of the Endless Pool, flipping through the cold air before landing lightly upon the stone platform.

The dark abyssal water slid off his clothes and cloak, absorbed instantly into the fabric without leaving a single drop behind.

He stood tall in the freezing cavern, his breathing slow, steady, and effortless.

The burning fever in his veins was gone, replaced by a smooth, infinite reservoir of power circulating harmoniously through his limbs.

Sagiri sheathed Nokai across his back, feeling the blade pulse with quiet, obedient readiness against his shoulder blades.

He turned on his heel and strode up the spiral stone staircase, ascending swiftly out of the subterranean foundation.

When he pushed open the heavy iron doors into the central pentagon courtyard, the early dawn light was just breaking over the mountain peaks.

Senior instructors and armed cadets stood gathered in the courtyard, staring in stunned silence at the young man walking toward them.

The sickly, bleeding youth who had staggered into the academy hours ago was gone.

In his place stood the undisputed Sovereign of the South, his posture straight, his gaze sharp, and his presence commanding total respect.

Colossal Zaira lifted her massive head from the stones, letting out a joyful, rolling hiss as she recognized her master’s complete recovery.

Captain Fuwuka stepped forward in full heavy combat armor, his battle-scarred face filled with deep relief.

"You look like a man who just walked out of the underworld alive, Keeper," Fuwuka said, offering a crisp northern salute.

"The Endless Pool has done its work," Sagiri replied, his voice calm and clear. "What is the situation on the northern front?"

"General Zafaru’s Southern Host has made incredible speed," Fuwuka reported, unrolling a tactical map of Tagayia.

"Forty thousand southern spears have crossed the central plains and are approaching the main road junction near the foothills," Fuwuka explained.

"And Squad 25?" Sagiri asked, his crimson and silver eyes narrowing.

"They reached Kovura Pass yesterday alongside the Sandshades and Lady Kiana," Fuwuka answered, his face darkening with concern.

"Grand Zorath Zaka’s northern clans are holding the upper ridges, but Lanka’s siege engines are pounding their lines day and night."

"Over sixty thousand Soulless and heavy frost beasts are attempting to breach the pass before our armies can unite," Fuwuka added.

Sagiri looked at the map, calculating the distance and marching speed in a single glance.

"If the pass falls, Lanka will pour into the central plains and divide our forces," Sagiri said.

"Then we have no time to lose," Fuwuka agreed, stepping back toward his ready detachment of senior instructors.

Sagiri walked to the center of the courtyard and stroked Zaira’s cold, armored snout.

"You rested well, old friend?" Sagiri asked softly.

Zaira rumbled with eager power, lowering her head to let him climb aboard.

Sagiri vaulted effortlessly onto the titan serpent’s brow, settling firmly into the saddle as he gripped the reins.

"I will intercept the Southern Host at the central junction and lead forty thousand spears directly to Kovura Pass," Sagiri declared.

"May the ancestors guide your blade, Keeper," Fuwuka said, pounding his armored fist against his chest.

"They already do," Sagiri answered with a sharp, confident smile.

He pulled the reins, and Zaira let out a deafening roar that shook the watchtowers of Galka War Academy.

With a massive heave of muscle, the colossal serpent leaped over the perimeter barricade and surged down the mountain slope at blinding speed.

The Last Keeper was riding to war, fully stabilized and wielding the Silver-Veined Void Blade, ready to unite North and South to crush Glacial Lanka.
