Chapter 191: Dungeon Raid Complete
Chapter 191: Dungeon Raid Complete
The cheers from the crowd were the first thing that hit the two as they reappeared outside the dungeon.
Conan glanced around and noticed that they were now out of the dungeon and back in the festival’s arena, surrounded by the crowd of watchers.
His eyes stopped exactly on a certain short old man who, surprisingly, had a small smile on his face.
The gleam in his eyes told Conan that he was about to undergo another upgrade after this festival, but for now, he was satisfied.
"It seems we have another group that has completed the dungeon raid," the herald’s voice was suddenly heard.
Conan turned to him as he wondered, ’Another group?’
Which meant they weren’t the first to complete the dungeon raid?
He turned to Adrian, only to notice that the butler was walking towards their chamber’s door, and he quickly followed behind.
But not before glancing back and noticing that apart from theirs, only one other screen above the dungeon door was blank, which meant only one other group of representatives had completed the Raid.
"Do you know which other group might’ve completed before us?" Conan asked as he caught up to Adrian.
"The East," Adrian answered.
"The group with that third year?" He asked, a bit surprised.
"Yes," Adrian nodded in response.
Conan was certain that if anyone was going to clear the dungeon, it would either be Lady Renelle’s group or perhaps the Prince’s.
Then again, he recalled that his scanner had displayed the same result when he tried scanning Cassian earlier as it had when he scanned Adrian.
Perhaps, in hindsight, it wasn’t all that surprising.
Still, he was curious, "How’d you know it’s the East?"
Instead of a reply, Adrian simply pointed up, and Conan followed his finger only to notice a magic tool hanging above them.
On it was displayed what seemed to be a table, and at the very top, with a thirty-minute completion time,e was the East, followed by The Academy with thirty-nine minutes.
"I see," Conan nodded as they walked through the door and into their assigned chamber.
Waiting there was the headmistress and Isla, the latter of the two had a wide smile on her face as she watched them walk in.
She suddenly hopped off her chair and walked straight towards Adrian, and lifted both arms.
Without hesitation, the butler picked her up, already used to her antics.... Besides, he very much preferred this to being sent into one of her reality bubbles again.
"You were so cool," She said with a smile on her face, her colorful eyes seemingly lighting up.
"Hmm," Adrian simply nodded.
"And you too, Conan!" Isla then turned to Conan beside them, "especially when you used those flame dragons, it was so cool."
"I was, wasn’t I?" Conan chuckled, feeling completely satisfied at the praise.
All he had gone through felt rewarded by that single praise from her.
"You two did well," the headmistress finally spoke up, and they turned towards her.
Evelina was looking particularly at Conan, seemingly quite impressed, and she made it known, "to think that just a few months ago you were incompatible with any spirit."
Of course, she knew about him; she knew about every single student within her academy. It just depended on who was interesting enough to attract her attention.
"And to think that a human will be this powerful as a magic tool," She added as she continued looking at him, "Alvíss must be proud."
Again, she knew about the old man and his project of combining a human with a magic tool.
Although he might seem like some type of madman, the results of his work were obvious enough for all to see, and just as he intended, the entire Avera was surprised at the existence of someone like Conan.
"I noticed," Conan muttered, recalling the old man’s expression outside.
"Though," she added, almost as an afterthought, "burning through your mana reserve on the fourth floor was careless."
Conan nodded in agreement, but then again, he only did that because Adrian was around, and trying to save his mana would only make the fight harder and last longer.
"The magic tools," Evelina then turned towards Adrian and asked.
Without saving anything, Adrian retrieved all the magic tools he had collected from his [Shadow Vault] and handed them to her.
The headmistress let out a chuckle as she looked at them. This was basically all the magic tools hidden in the dungeon, and with the way Adrian was easily finding them, it was almost as if he knew exactly where they were hidden.
"I’ll handle this over to the officials," Evelina said as she stood up about the head to the door before she stopped and turned back to them.
"Rest before the tournament," she said, and finally turned around, "both of you."
"What about the other groups?" Conan asked before she reached the door.
The headmistress stopped in her tracks.
"The remaining five are still inside," she said, "the South is on the fifth floor, the royal family and the West are both on the fourth."
After a brief pause, she finally added as she turned towards the Butler, already knowing what he was most curious about, "the North is on the sixth."
"I see," Conan nodded before the headmistress finally left, leaving the three in the chamber.
Conan then crashed into one of the seats before completely relaxing, his exhaustion finally catching up to him.
His mana was quickly regenerating, so he was certain that he’d be fine in a few minutes.
Adrian, with Isla still in his hand, turned towards the screen.
"She’ll be fine," Isla suddenly muttered, "Lady Renelle is really strong."
Adrian looked at her before smiling and nodding in agreement, "She is."
He wasn’t worried about her safety, since even he knew how strong she was.
He then sat on one of the chairs opposite the screen and quietly observed the ongoing raid.
It seems his Lady would soon complete hers, so he waited.
