Chapter 2314: Chapter 2314

"Hey." Zhao Li’s voice first came from inside the house, then she followed out.

Jiaojiao ran up and hugged her: "Godmother, I really missed you."

Zhao Li hugged her back, affectionately rubbing her cheek with hers: "Godmother missed you too, my darling, have you lost weight again? I could pinch your little waist in one hand."

"It tickles, it tickles." Jiaojiao giggled and dodged away.

"Auntie." Lu Meng, somewhat excited yet forcibly restrained, tugged at his clothes.

Jiaojiao looked down, squatted, and gazed at the increasingly refined Lu Meng: "Xiaomeng, hello, long time no see."

Lu Meng blushed: "Long time no see, I missed Auntie."

Jiaojiao smiled and saw Lu Zhiwei coming out from over there, immediately called out, and peeked inside: "Hasn’t Brother Zishu returned yet?"

"Not yet, he’ll be back at noon." Zhao Li replied.

"Oh." Jiaojiao nodded, then came over and took her arm: "Then godfather and godmother don’t need to cook at home, come eat at my house, Grandma is cooking."

Zhao Li and Lu Zhiwei had arrived home in the early morning. The house was tidied up before, so there wasn’t much to do, and both of them were indeed too lazy to cook, so they went to the Ruan Family home together at Jiaojiao’s invitation.

Although the two families had less interaction recently, after all, there were so many years of friendship. It’s more accurate to say they are one family rather than two. They were so familiar with each other, not overly polite, and meeting again was no different from usual.

When Zhao Li went into the kitchen to help, Ruan Jianguo and Lu Zhiwei were chatting in the living room. After a little while, the sound of a car parking came from outside. Jiaojiao peeked out and saw Lu Zishu, dressed in a trench coat, coming in.

Seeing Lu Zishu for the first time, Jiaojiao was stunned.

She felt as if she vaguely saw Lu Zishu from her previous life.

Wearing glasses with metal frames, carrying a briefcase, he walked in with a trench coat, looking completely different than before.

Even when he walked right up to her, Jiaojiao hadn’t snapped out of it.

Lu Zishu entered, saw Jiaojiao staring blankly at him, nodded in greeting, then sidestepped her and walked over to the other side of the sofa, calling out to Ruan Jianguo and Lu Zhiwei: "Uncle, Dad."

Lu Zhiwei looked at him in surprise: "Weren’t you busy until noon?"

Lu Zishu placed the briefcase down, took off his trench coat and casually draped it over the sofa armrest, then reached up to loosen his somewhat tightly tied tie, explaining: "It’s all sorted out, so I came back first."

Lu Zhiwei nodded.

Beside him, Ruan Jianguo looked at Lu Zishu and said: "Zishu has matured recently, hasn’t he?"

"Don’t praise him, his tail will be up in the air." Lu Zhiwei quickly said.

Upon hearing this, Lu Zishu just smiled, continuing to listen quietly to their chatter, very different from the boy from before who never ran out of things to say and couldn’t sit still for two minutes without feeling restless.

Jiaojiao was still staring at him blankly, her heart heavy with pain.

Before, she always lamented how noisy Lu Zishu was, unlike the Lu Zishu from her past life. But when he truly became the Lu Zishu from her past life, she realized that such growth comes at the cost of pain.

And she really doesn’t want to see this kind of Lu Zishu.

Jiaojiao suddenly felt a bit of an ache in her nose. She averted her gaze, not wanting anyone to notice her change, and got up to leave the living room.
