"Is this blue wig really working?" Remi asked skeptically as he stared at the long blue haired wig that the maids were adjusting over Reina’s head.

She had been dressed up in the first set of clothes that Kai wore when he came to Ryujin mansion and surprisingly enough, they fit it with only a tad bit of alterations.

Since Reina’s mana was locked away she couldn’t even gather enough to keep her disguise device active. It would go out randomly which was troublesome. Currently, there were a lot of people who wanted to have an audience with her, she could shoo away the strangers but those whom she wanted to talk herself, she could tolerate showing them her weak side.

Davian had to leave Ryujin mansion as soon as they arrived as Grand Duke had asked for his return to their capital manor as soon as he returned from Edrisyl. Davian wasn’t willing to buy Reina assured him that there were others around and she would be fine.

The meeting went as Reina had expected, the three Underworld Lords were shocked to see her in a child state but then again, when she acted stern enough, they dropped it and then focused on the issue at hand.

Reina sighed to herself after the meeting, she had another plan for after the Trials and this battle but with her stuck in this form without any mana that would have to be postponed.

She leaned back in her seat and the invisible figure in the library materialised.

"Are you done?" Caelthir asked.

Reina resisted a groan, "No, I still have work to do."

"You’re a child," Caelthir said plucking her from the chair, "Children don’t work."

Lyall and Remi flinched watching Caelthir, if it were any ordinary person, he would have lost his arms by now but since Caelthir was a Dragon and Reina had specifically warned them about angering the other Dragons that the two were silent.

Kai watched Reina and Caelthir quietly, a concerned expression crossed his face.

He had watched Davian and Caelthir arguing when they had arrived, Kai was shocked to see his parent in a child’s form, it was a heart-melting sight but Kai was worried.

How long would she be stuck in that form?

What if she never grew back again?

What would happen to her then?

As if reading his mind, Reina looked at him.

"Are you all right, Kai?"

Kai forced a smile, reminding himself that this was his guardian they were talking about, even if there was a chance that she might not recover, she was still capable of using some other way to make up for it. And if she couldn’t, then he would do all he could to make sure all her plans get succeeded. He was her hier after all.

Caelthir carried Reina to Roan’s room, he wasn’t allowed to leave his room because he hadn’t recovered yet.

Roan sat up as he saw the two Supreme Dragons entering, he quickly fixed his attire and then inclined his head.

"Welcome back, Master."

Behind Caelthir, Remi and Lyall had followed along.

Reina patted Caelthir’s shoulder as they reached close to Roan’s bed, gesturing to be let down but Caelthir didn’t do so.

Reina looked at him, "Down."

Caelthir shook his head, "He’s sick, you’re so weak that you’ll catch it."

Reina resisted the urge to roll her eyes and patted a few more times.

"I won’t, let me down."

Caelthir was stubborn enough to not do it and Roan coughed, his face was a little flushed.

"He’s right, Master. You might catch my cold."

Reina looked at him sternly, "Shut up."

Roan clamped his mouth shut and Reina looked at Caelthir.

"Down, now."

Caelthir sighed before he begrudgingly let her down on the bed, Reina sat down at the edge of the bed and then stretched her arm to Roan.

He leaned in close and Reina placed her small head over his clammy and warm forehead.

"There is still a little fever." She mumbled.

"I’ll be fine soon." Roan insisted, his voice was hoarse and rough.

Reina narrowed her eyes, "Right. And remind me who told you to work afterhours and take up all the work?"

Roan hung his head while Reina continued, "I hired throse three juniors to make your work easier but it you insist on doing everything by yourself, why should I pay them? Might as well relieve them off their posts. Should I?"

Roan flinched, "...I’m sorry."

"Do you think that’s enough?"

Roan gulped, "I won’t overwork myself again."

"And?"

"...If there’s extra work, I’ll give it to the juniors."

"And?" Roan looked at her.

"What more is left?"

Reina frowned, "Your journey."

Roan appeared confused as his eyebrows furrowed and he covered his mouth as he coughed.

"What journey?"

Reina tilted her head and then looked at Remi who stood near the door, as soon as he met Reina’s gaze, he averted his eyes.

"Remi, you didn’t tell him?"

"Tell me what?" Roan looked in between both of them.

Reina sighed, "If I had to tell him myself, why would I give those envelopes to you Remi?"

Remi quickly lowered his head, "I-I’m sorry, Master. I didn’t get a chance!"

Reina ran a hand through her hair and then looked back at Roan who was still clueless.

She shook her head and then started.

"I didn’t expect this," she gestured at her body, "so, I had decided to send you and Remi with Miri to Mordino to supervise ous Oasis Foundation branch over there for a month. It was like a vacation for you two since you haven’t taken one."

Roan stared at Reina before pointed out, "We still have to work over there though, how is that a vacation?"

"You have to check some reports that will be already prepared and once you’re done with that- it’ll probably take you around one week so, after that you can do what you want."

Roan pondered over it for a moment and Reina added, "Besides, Miri herself looks into the workings of Oasis Foundation over there so, there won’t be much for you to do."

Roan’s eyes glistened as he caught Reina’s hand dramatically, "My Master, my amazing, out of the world adorable Master!"

Reina gave him a deadpan expression, "I get it. But if you can’t give me your word that you won’t overwork yourself even there then you’re not going."

"I promise!" Roan almost shouted but then he covered his mouth as he coughed.

Reina sighed and reached out patting his soft, damp red hair.

"You did well while I was away, good work." She said.

Roan hummed feeling her little fingers tousling his hair before she turned to Remi.

"Those envelopes have your formal notice of vacation."

Remi nodded, still avoiding her eyes which made Reina wonder what was wrong with him. She noticed one particular thing though, apart from avoiding her eyes, Remi was particularly avoiding looking at Roan.

Roan glanced at Roan and then back at Remi and a thought popped in her head.

Something must have happened between them.

The thought made her lips twitch as she fought a smile and she told Roan.

"Get well enough before you depart." Reina said, Roan nodded.

"And," she leaned in, "use this chance to confess."

Roan’s eyes widened as his entire face went red and Caelthir quickly pulled Reina away from Roan.

"He’s sick and coughing, don’t go so close to him!" Caelthir chided, despite hearing what she told Roan.

He carried her again and Reina looked at Remi, "Remi,"

Remi straightened up, "Yes, Master."

"I’ll leave Roan to you. Take care of him."

The tips of Remi’s ears and his cheeks started turning red as he stuttered, "Uh-uh... Me?"

Reina tilted her head, "You don’t want to?"

Remi opened his mouth and then closed it back again, his eyes drifting over to Roan who was looking at them. His eyes were somehow glistening even more for some reason and the expression on his face made Remi feel as if someone had reached out and grabbed his heart.

"I... I will do it, Master."

Reina smiled, "All right."

Caelthir walked out of Roan’s room not commenting over anything and Lyall walked behind them.

"Did you notify my family that I’m back?" Reina asked Lyall.

"Yes, Master."

"It’s surprising that they haven’t come yet." She mumbled.

"Duke Aurelius and Marquis Fairisles ate at the palace with other nobles for a meeting and Young Duke, Archmage and Princess Alys are in Northwest, so only Lady Konstantinous is arriving for lunch."

Reina nodded, people were busy all around her but she couldn’t do much except for wait. It reminded her of the time when she was stuck in the body of a cat and then reminded her of the day of her past life when she was dying. She was relieved back then but the feeling of losing her senses and her life oozing out of her had left an impression on her.

If she would admit something with all honesty then, it would be that she didn’t want to experience the feeling of that kind of death again. Death was an inevitable thing for every living being but she hoped that it would come peaceful for her in this life. The kind of sleep which she would accept with relief knowing that everyone around her were safe and sound and ther was no need for her to fight anything anymore.

The kind of peaceful happy ending that the characters in stories had.
