The Kind of Evil
Chapter 649: Ungraspable.
"And? What do you need from us?" Satan asked as she looked at Sanya. "Knowing you’re an ancient being of this world, knowledge isn’t what you lack, at least the knowledge of this world," she raised her brows.
Sanya let go of Kilen’s chin from her grasp and slowly took a few steps away from him. She looked at Ermaine, and she noticed that the girl that the humans had tried to kill had grown a lot more powerful. She had seen Saints, the current ones and the previous ones, but she had never seen anything like Ermaine.
"Her," Sanya pointed at Ermaine.
Satan glanced at Ermaine and noticed that Ermaine wasn’t expecting to be pointed at.
"The humans believed in prophecy, and for whatever reasons, some of them came true that weren’t mere coincidence," Sanya explained and kept her eyes on Ermaine. "You’re right, I have all the knowledge of this world, but not beyond it. That’s why I need to know these things beyond this world," she answered.
Lucifer stared at Sanya with a condescending look. She couldn’t wait to see Sanya struggle to understand higher beings and especially about God.
"It would be wise to choose to be ignorant in this matter. However, I will entertain your thoughts," Satan said in a soft mutter. "Ask away, Lady Sanya," she opened her arms and smiled at Sanya.
Sanya looked at Kilen and then looked at Ermaine for a moment.
"Saints, they’re chosen by the Gods? But she’s not chosen by Gods, you chose her," Sanya looked at Satan while mentioning Ermaine. "The Gods that you and those Saints worshiped, they are the same beings?" She asked.
Satan tilted her head and smiled at Sanya’s statement about Ermaine. She slowly walked toward Ermaine and stood behind Ermaine as she put her hands on Ermaine’s shoulders.
"Yes, all saints were chosen by Him, and they all worshiped the same God even though they named Him differently. He does not care about names," Satan answered as she nodded. "However, you’re wrong about this child. Can you still called it unchosen when she was chosen to be..." she paused to look down at Ermaine’s head. "This?" Her hands gestured at Ermaine’s body. "If she wasn’t chosen, she should be dead or be somewhere else, to be some insignificant mortal by now," she added.
Sanya placed her hand under her chin and her gaze fixated on Ermaine before she nodded with understanding.
"This God of yours, sent a being to exterminate the True Dragons. Then, this God of yours chose Saints like Kilen and sent them to hunt Orthias, my people. Two different events but same patterns, why?" Sanya glanced at Satan.
"There’s no rain without water. One must cease to exist first before something else to exist, but in the end, they’re all the same, but different," Satan answered without showing any expression.
"What with the riddles?" Sanya asked.
"Because you know air exists but you can’t exactly tell what it is physically. That’s how hard it is to interpret God," Satan answered, and her expression and tone had changed drastically when God was the main topic. "As I said earlier, it would be wise to choose to be ignorant in this matter. Not because you’re incapable, because we are all," she pointed out.
"You spoke of God as if you respected that being, and yet you killed humans, turned them against each other. Is your God that ignorance?" Sanya asked.
Lucifer and his brethren’s eyes widened slightly when Sanya confronted Satan. They were the few beings who knew Satan, and knew how close she was to God because she was The shadow that God’s throne cast. They didn’t care when Sanya called God ignorant, but they feared the reaction of a being who had never stepped outside of her boundary and had obeyed every God’s command.
"Is that really the only interpretation you have?" Satan asked as she slowly tilted her head and then a smile appeared on her face.
Sanya’s eyes flinched when another interpretation had just appeared in her head the moment Satan asked that question.
"Your God allowed it," Sanya pointed out.
Satan’s smile widened from ear to ear, and it was so eerie that Sanya found it disturbing. Lucifer and the others were terrified and immediately lowered their heads because they had never seen Satan make such an expression before. The only one that didn’t see the smile was no other than Ermaine, who stood in front of her with her back facing Satan.
"Is that your conclusion, Lady Sanya?" Satan asked, still with that eerie smile on her face.
Sanya averted her gaze and decided to look at Kilen because she understood what kind of being she was talking to. She knew that if she couldn’t understand the being in front of her, there was no chance to knowing the being that created Satan.
"Do you understand now? It’s wise to be ignorant in this matter," Satan asked. "Now, are you ready to ask the real question as to why you need our help?"
Sanya uncrossed her arms and walked toward Kilen until she stood beside him.
"I agreed with the treaty because we have the common enemy. Now, is that the truth that the angels are your enemy? Or are you pretending?" Sanya asked.
"Enemy? No, they’re more like competitor. Of course, that won’t change the fact that I want them disappear from this world. I can assure you, I have no intention of taking the same side as them even if our goal is the same. That also applies to them, they have no intention of coming to my side," Satan answered as she wrapped her arms around Ermaine’s body and rested her chin on top of Ermaine’s head. "What else?" She asked again.
"If I offer you this mortal, will you have an advantage of fighting the angels?" Sanya asked.
"Him? Well, it’s possible. His memories are valuable, and there will be a lot of information that I can use against the cult and even sabotage their ultimate goal," Satan answered as she nodded. "So you want to give him to us? We will be grateful if you do. However, I want to see if he’s truly alive as you have mentioned before," she glanced at Kilen.
Sanya looked at Kilen and with a flick of her hand, the roots that had emerged and become one with his body suddenly began to move. They watched as the roots tore his skin and flesh, and slowly but surely, his eyes began to show life in them. He was unaware that his body was being torn apart because his body was numb from being imprisoned for centuries. However, with the divine power he possessed, his body began to regenerate and recover rapidly.
Slowly but surely, Kilen regained consciousness, and his mind was still hazy because he didn’t remember what had happened, where she was, or the people in front of him. The moment he realized the blood around him, it brought him back to the memory of the last time he remembered. He remembered the palace, the banquet hall, and the piles of corpses with dismembered bodies. When he saw the white-haired woman in front of him, the fear and the terror had just come to surface again because the woman in front of him right now was the same woman that had turned the banquet hall into a sea of blood. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂
"Well... well... well, good morning sleepyhead," Satan chuckled softly as she leaned down and put her face in front of Kilen. "We are going to have a lot of fun together..."
