The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 455 - Don't Lie!

Everything blew above Amaira's head. In fact, she found it hard to stand on her toes, where she had to take the support of the wall. 'Does… that mean.. mum is actually cheating on dad?'

Never in her wildest dream could she expect something like this. Moreover, her heart was already not ready to believe such a  drastic change in her.

"Agh...yes… yes.. do it this way!" The moans were very vibrant to hear and her mood.

It went down to the level where there was no scope of even recovering from the mental stress that had been put.

Without thinking twice, Amaira ran out of the place. Climbing down from the half-constructed stairs, she came out of the building in a hurry.

Her eyes were already covered with the mist, where there was no sign of calming down. Tears were on the edge of coming.

All Amaira felt was her heart not even beating but despite everything, she can never come to terms that such a big deal took place.

"No...no… how can you do this mum?" She was continuously questioning herself. Such a big bomb was dropped over her head which was almost non-digestible.

Coming out of the building, Amaira kept on running. She didn't hide behind the bushes either but to run...and run with all her energy.

The wind blew past her but passing out, she kept on running until Amaira realized that she had reached near one of the docs.

On the other side, there was a giant river view.

Since it was all night, the entire place was absolutely silent. Night lamps were lit, making everything look extra beautiful but at the same time, enough to give her some peace in her mind.

For the next few minutes, all Amaira did was to stand near the railings, while holding them with her clenched hand.

In the back of her mind, she had cursed many people trillions of times.

However, at the same time, it made no sense to her. 'If...mother was cheating on my dad..and she said that she wanted something?'' What does this mean?

Was her mother with her father only for money? Amaira could conclude with an answer.

Her brain was malfunctioning. It was harder to describe her feelings of the current moment... Facing someone, especially her father with this guilt would rip her apart.

And most probably, her father never learned of this. From her mother's words with the stranger, she had somewhere guessed that it was still not revealed to the rest of the world.

'But who could be the person with whom mother talked?' she can't remember seeing the face.

Only what entered her ears was the husky voice of the person. It was hard giving her any clue where she was standing all, with the thousands of emotions that rested inside her mind and heart.

With the light wind blowing on her face, Amaira's heartbeat was tagging up. Either upwards or down, it seemed to have no meaning to come out.

'How am I supposed to live with this thought in my mind now?'

A frown curved on Amaira's face. Subconsciously, she brought her hands upwards, near her arms to rub it slightly. It was windy for sure.

But her heart wasn't ready to accept any valid reason for whatsoever that happened and she witnessed it with naked eyes. It was almost impossible to forget, since it had printed a long-lasting memory...

At last, Amaira kept her lost expressions plastered as she started to walk around. Without having any idea where the direction led her to, Amaira kept on walking without thinking twice.

With her hand tugged in her pocket, the lips turning into a straight line, Amaira kept on walking with no clue....  she was surely totally lost.

However, something unexpected and dangerous happened.

"W-what..noo!" Amaira had immediately lifted her hand when she felt a car approaching her. She brought her hand to her face, anticipating for the car to crash and run over her body.

Yet, nothing like what she predicted happened.

Rather, the large sound of brakes was heard by her ears. With her slow actions, she peeked through the space between her fingers, finding the car had just stopped a few distances away from her leg...

A tired sigh escaped her lips, when Amaira removed her hands. She brought her hand to her chest, to feel relief washing over her head. 'Thank god...'

"AMAIRA! What the hell are you doing here?!"

A stern voice made her halt back. Lifting her eyes, she came across none other than Ryan.

He had stepped out of his car, to stare into her direction "Who the hell roam like this in the middle of the road and that too, this late?!"

"I'm sorry...you can go now." was all she muttered.

Keeping her head low, Amaira crossed the pathway through the road to come to the other side of the road.

She was least interested in letting her worry drown into his ears either. Biting her lower lip, her hands had converted into a fist inside her trench coat's pocket.

Yet Amaira didn't stop due to his intense gaze on her back. She kept on moving her legs in the direction, not giving Ryan even a glance.

Whereas, Ryan's mind was present in deep conflict. 'Why the hell is she roaming like this? And that too alone? Has something happened to her?' His worries intensified on the last thought.

Without thinking straight, Ryan closed the door of his car and immediately followed her way. He went behind her, trying to cope up with her speed.

At this moment, he realized that she was trying to run away from him.

"Amaira!"

"Ryan, don't even follow me! I don't wish to see your face!"

With her shrill voice, Amaira just kept on walking. She had kept her head, not letting it come in contact with anyone else.

But what she forgot was the stubbornness of Ryan, which was way higher than what she could imagine.

Ryan increased his pace, ran in her direction to finally hold her arm, to make her stop in her tracks. Looking straight into her eyes, he bluntly asked, "You are crying. Yet you hold the audacity to say that nothing happened? Don't lie to my face at least..."
