The Kidnapped Bride

"But you have a wife too…"

Alice heard this from outside of the cabin with her heart already feeling itself on the bay of slipping down from the ground into the deeper sea. 

She waited for the answer with her ears already alarmed. 

"So what? It's alright, she has no idea about you. I will talk with her about this." 

Talk? Is there anything left in between to talk? Alice's eyes flew to her stomach which had the baby bump already out, clear enough to be seen. 

Her eyes crumbled when she immediately opened the door of the cabin to come across the view of Shawn holding his dear pregnant secretary in his hands. 

"Shawn…" mumbling his name, she gained his attention when Shawn instantly lifted his eyes to find the horrific sight he could ever see, "Alice…what a-are you.." 

There were no words to define when he stood on his toes after seeing her frightened expressions. She was shocked, dumbfounded at the position where her legs were stuck to the ground itself.

"Pregnant…y-you made her pregnant?" she asked in a low and doubted voice, hoping to get a negative answer. But all she received was silence…

As her eyes traveled to see the lady who stood beside Shawn, only Alice knew how her heart broke into millions of pieces already. Her lips turned dry with her entire life-shattering just in front of herself..but she never wanted this. Never! How come she was made a fool?! How?!

Subconsciously she took a few steps ahead to come closer to the lady and look straight into her eyes. There was a tinge of fury that covered but more than that, an unexpected betrayal that she faced. No….how can her husband do this with her? 

Her hand was formed into a fist already when she opened her mouth, "So,  are you carrying his child?" 

"Ma'am…Mrs. Johnson….I..I.." Shirley was unable to mutter even a single thing. Her eyes flew to the ground in guilt but Alice already found her answer. 

She raised her hand to slap her but then….it stopped in the middle air itself, shocking Shawn as well as the secretary who stood behind her. 

Shirley already covered her face with her hand while her other handheld her stomach. Her actions already made her mind realize that this lady is also pregnant. 

A scoff left her lips when she took a few steps behind with a clear-cut display of emotions, "Wow Shawn…literally wow! Weren't you the one who wanted to marry me and have a family?!? Then where did this lady come in between us?" 

"Ali-Alice….it's..a mistake…"

"Mistake?" a laugh escaped from Alice's mouth when she shook her head, "Mistake which you were ready to give your own name? Why did a mistake happen when your love was entirely for me? Wasn't I the holder of your heart and body?" 

Her question was sharp to make Shawn already alarmed and his lips turned into a straight line. He could feel his throat going dry on seeing her broken expressions that were giving a churning sensation in his stomach. 

In contrast to him, Alice felt her entire world getting down into the pieces from where it was even hard to join them. 

They were broke in such a way where she found no way to mend them. Today… the husband whom she loved all through the years..whose sign of love she is carrying in her stomach has betrayed her…

"There is nothing….left between us to talk anymore, Shawn. Nothing…" she mumbled when her eyes got heavy with tears which were hard to control anymore. 

Turning around, she stormed off from his cabin to walk out of the third floor.  Behind her, came his secretary who didn't say even a single thing but to drop her off at her car since he could understand what she must be undergoing. 

Leaving Shawn alone with his mistress, Alice walked out of the third floor. She came out of his building to walk near her car with the secretary following her behind. 

But her turmoil of emotions made her stop at the moment. Her gaze went down to her body to feel herself leaking..'Did my water break?' She knew this was the case already. 

Stumbling in her walk, she turned her head to the driver who was standing near the car when she shouted, "BRING ME TO THE HOSPITAL!"

The same information reached Shawn who made his way to the hospital leaving all his work behind. In a bit of a hurry, he looked at the receptionist, "T-t-there must be a pregnant lady brought here! A-Alice…"

"Yes sir, she is taken to the delivery room. She is ready for the delivery." Shawn nodded his head. 

After taking the directions, he walked through the corridors to come outside of the room where Alice lay inside. 

With a sigh escaping his mouth, he took a deep breath to gather the courage to come closer to the door of the room. 

From the transparent glass, he looked inside to see her doing everything to push the child out. She was yelling, while the nurses motivated her to give the push again. The sight should be making him happy, but unknowingly, it made the unknown sensation travel to his heart. 

A frown curved on his forehead when he stood there in a daze, for God knows how many minutes until…he heard a cry. 

She did it again, she again gave him the piece of their love..

Unfortunately, he already broke that love of hers. He gave her the worst present one could give on their delivery time. A cheating husband…

"Congratulations Sir, you are once again a father…" he heard his bodyguard's voice from behind who congratulated him but to him? This was nothing but purely hollow congratulations.

A smile appeared on his face with his eyes narrowed to realize, "But will she let me meet my child this time?"
