Chapter 1484: Chapter 1484: Sixth Layer of the Underground Palace (Part 1)

Staring at the steps in front, Wang’s tears were streaming down his face, and his excited hands were trembling.

Wang Sijing was also incredulous, covering her mouth, "Is this, the sixth layer?"

Wang wiped the tears off his face with his large sleeves, disregarding his image, and laughed, "Yes, after hundreds of years, we’ve finally found it!"

Lin Tian’s ears perked up at these words. Waited for hundreds of years? Impossible, right? Just moments ago, wasn’t this old man calculating something? Some secret of heaven, so amazing, shouldn’t it have been found long ago? Still waiting till today?

"Grandpa, how did you find it?" Wang Sijing asked excitedly.

Wang glanced at Lin Tian behind him and said softly, "Speaking of which, Lin Tian contributed as well. He unlocked the array on the door, and a hidden compartment appeared on the model of the underground palace. I followed that clue to find this place."

At this point, Wang’s words paused. He looked at Lin Tian with complicated emotions, his lips moved twice, and he said, "When I was young, I’ve explored every corner of this underground palace. I’ve even swum under the drawbridge in the moat. But I could never find the entrance to the sixth layer."

"Not only me, Sijing, did you know? Our Wang Family has spent generations looking for this entrance. Because there’s an ancestral saying that when we enter the sixth layer of the underground palace, it will be the time for our Wang Family to soar up to the Ninth Heaven!"

While speaking, Wang was very excited, his fists instinctively clenched, and his previously pale face regained some color.

He wanted to laugh loudly to express his tumultuous feelings, but the earlier divination and that drop of blood essence had already drained his energy. Just speaking a little louder, he started coughing violently.

Wang Sijing gently patted Wang’s back, transferring inner strength into his body, trying to make him more comfortable.

Sure enough, Wang’s cough finally ceased. But the smile on his face couldn’t be stopped, as he snatched the Luban lock back from Wang Sijing’s arms.

"This Luban lock, our Wang Family has sought for hundreds of years, it’s the cherished treasure of our family for eternity."

To this statement, Lin Tian scoffed. For eternity? Isn’t that too much? Just the broken pills here? Looking at their quality, after hundreds of years, who knows if their efficacy is still intact, how could they ensure the Wang Family’s eternity?!

Wang Sijing differed, her gaze becoming fiery. Standing next to her, Lin Tian could even hear her heartbeat.

"Let’s go, let’s check it out." Wang said to Wang Sijing.

Wang Sijing nodded and followed behind him. Suddenly, she turned around and looked at Lin Tian, saying, "Can I ask you not to come down? If possible, I could kneel before you!"

Wang Sijing said seriously. Wang’s words made her aware of the gravity concerning the sixth layer, and Lin Tian had always been a variable for the Wang Family, which she had to guard against.

If this kneeling could elevate the Wang Family to great heights, it would be worth it!

Xv Jiazhi wanted to refuse, but he knew his words were useless, as he couldn’t defeat Wang Sijing. He could only hope Lin Tian wouldn’t give up!

To everyone’s surprise, Lin Tian merely smiled lightly and shook his head, saying, "You don’t need to kneel, it doesn’t mean anything to me. I also have no intention of going down."

Below is just a corpse, not the Ninth Heaven, let alone a mythical beast!

Wang Sijing’s eyes revealed a hint of surprise. In her eyes, Lin Tian was the most shameless man alive, even more annoying than a fly.

He had no intention of going down? Could it be a bluff?

In an instant, thousands of thoughts raced through Wang Sijing’s mind. To sum up, she had no trust in Lin Tian.

At this moment, the reversal happened again. Wang looked at Lin Tian and said, "Come in, all of you."

"Grandpa, what did you say?" Wang Sijing couldn’t believe her ears for a moment.

"If it weren’t for Mr. Lin, we wouldn’t know when we’d be able to open this door. He’s a person of destiny; there’s no reason to keep him out. If Mr. Lin truly has no interest, I won’t force him. Sijing, let’s go."

Saying this, Wang began to walk down toward the underground palace in a slow step.

Wang Sijing didn’t spare Lin Tian a glance, only closely following behind Wang, carefully protecting him, afraid he’d misstep.

From beginning to end, Xv Jiazhi kept observing Lin Tian’s expression and gaze. But he saw nothing, as deep as an ancient well, not even a ripple.

Xv Jiazhi very much wanted to follow, but if alone, Wang Sijing would definitely discard him. He could only pin his hopes on Lin Tian.

Everyone had curiosity, including Xv Jiazhi and Lin Tian. Although they knew below was just an incorruptible corpse, they were still curious about what caused them to brag so boldly.

Giving Chen Moxiang a glance, Lin Tian said, "Be careful."

Chen Moxiang smiled faintly, returning a reassuring look.

The two of them followed behind Wang Sijing, whereas Xv Jiazhi could only bring up the rear. Now, he didn’t even dare meet Lin Tian’s gaze directly, it was too overwhelming.

The steps weren’t very long, about thirty steps, reaching the bottom.

There was no ornate decoration here; the underground had dark tiles, and the walls were built from meter-long stone bricks. Forget dragons and phoenixes, there wasn’t even a crack, very austere.

Gazing continuously at the environment, unknowingly, Lin Tian suddenly felt warmth underfoot. A stream of warmth surged from the sole, through the acupuncture points of the foot, rushing through the limbs, torso, and vital organs. That feeling was soothing throughout, as if there was an endless supply of energy.

Not only Lin Tian, but even Chen Moxiang and the others felt the same, with Wang changing the most. His pale complexion regained some vitality, and his steps became unusually agile.

"Why is this happening?" Chen Moxiang asked curiously. It was the first time she felt something like this, her heart full of doubt.

Lin Tian chuckled, saying, "Look at the ground."

"The ground? There’s nothing there." Chen Moxiang was even more puzzled.

"Underground is a Spirit Gathering Town; although you can’t see what it’s made of, it’s definitely not ordinary. Plus, building this Spirit Gathering Town must have involved countless experts. Otherwise, a Spirit Gathering Town with such power would be hard to form." Lin Tian explained.

Though Chen Moxiang wasn’t a Cultivator, she could fully understand Lin Tian’s words.
