The Invincible Full-Moon System
Chapter 2068: Secret Family Technique
Kaboom—!
Davina staggered backward as the battle between Rex and Diamantona intensified.
She was cruising through the air when the shockwave struck, and she desperately tried to resist and keep her flight straight, but it was simply impossible. Every time Rex and Diamantona collided, Davina was forced to stop and endure before continuing on her flight.
As the supreme genius in the Spirit Realm, it was rare for her to be in a situation like this.
It had been quite a long time since she participated in a battle that severely outclassed her.
Last time was when her father clashed against an enemy Duke, and that was a few centuries ago.
Now, she was back in that situation again.
But even then, she kept moving as she was still breathing and the battle was still going.
Davina’s gaze pierced through the colorful haze and hailstorm that blotted her vision—fixing on the red shore where the two High Millinars were. One of them was severely wounded, so the other was helping to heal the wounds quickly.
She needed to reach them and disrupt what they were doing.
Once the wounded High Millinar was healed, then things would get messy again.
It was true—that the Major Laws of Coldness and Ice no longer held sway over the realm, all thanks to Vadyn, who had valiantly distracted them and forced them to focus on freeing Diamantona; however, the damage had already been done.
Being exposed for a prolonged time had taken a toll on her body.
Her lungs were riddled with holes and ice, and her body was now more rigid.
Even then, she gritted her teeth and pressed onward.
On the red shore, the steady High Millinar was siphoning his ice power into his comrade’s body.
Despite their impenetrable barriers, somehow, Vadyn managed to break through and then landed a fatal blow—a clean stab through his comrade’s stomach, and then her sword time exploded—with immortal energy, spreading glass shards.
Each tiny glass shard travelled through the insides, creating minor tears, invading the bloodstream, causing inexplicable damage with every single breath, and even clinging to vital organs. Healing him with these glass shards inside became incredibly hard.
Not because of how tiny the glass shards were, but because they still contained immortal energy.
He clicked his tongue, complaining aloud.
"How can these shards still retain immortal energy when the caster is already dead?"
"High Lord Rashal must’ve given her something to bolster her battle prowess."
"How annoying. Rich people with their many resources."
Regardless of the annoying problem, there was no time to stop and think.
Right now, his focus was solely fixed on making sure his comrade got up again—so that the two could resume their grasp on the realm using their Major Laws and help Diamantona battle the troublesome warrior on the enemy side, Rex.
It was unsurprising that he became the most troublesome out of the enemy warriors.
Since their side suffered three casualties and the enemy side lost one, the battle was now reduced to a four against three. Still in their favour, but that could change drastically in an instant, so they needed to quickly help Diamantona kill Rex before any other invisible variable came into play.
Just then, his comrade rose to his feet with gritted teeth.
An abrupt movement.
Seeing this caught the High Millinar by surprise.
But then his senses picked up something approaching fast—a shift in the air and a ripple of energy.
Not needing to see the danger, he waved his hand—and summoned an ice protection barrier shaped like a five-petaled flower. Several gleaming stars descended, exploding in a barrage against the shield along with its surroundings.
Multiple thunderous impacts resounded, and the ice barrier held extremely well.
Everything was covered in a blinding light and then smoke.
He quickly pushed aside the smoke, and then saw Davina coming from the sky.
Her eyes were fixed on them, determined, with her tails billowing behind her like banners of war.
She had seen what they were doing, and she had come to stop him.
Gritting his teeth, the High Millinar immediately activated the Major Law of Coldness again, and almost instantly, the temperature plummeted around him—the air crystallized into frost. He pushed his comrade out of the way and braced himself for Davina.
Crash—!
Davina crashed onto the red shore with a blinding and powerful emerald explosion, blowing sand along with dark water alike into the air. The impact cratered the island ground, cracks spreading outward in a web of shattered crystal and stone.
Seeing her come willingly, the High Millinar laughed.
"Arrogant fool!" He spat; his voice dripped with unfiltered contempt. "Getting close to us like this? You are the weakest warrior in the entire Purgation Duel. Do you think you can defeat me in close combat? You overestimate yourself!"
He summoned a saber in hand and prepared to overwhelm Davina.
But then, his eyes caught sight of the lag in her movements.
A slight hesitation in her limbs and the strange stiffness that a body should never have.
It seemed the Major Law of Coldness was already taking hold.
Just a minute more, and she would be utterly frozen, turning into a helpless sheep waiting for slaughter.
"Desperation would be the death of you!" He charged with an explosive speed.
But the moment Davina recovered from the thunderous crash, her tails glowed with a beautiful shimmer. Both moonlight and starlight siphoned into them, swirling, condensing—and then releasing. The gravity around them suddenly grew several times heavier.
She summoned a gravitational field that obeyed her command.
Even the High Millinar stopped dead in his tracks.
He looked down and saw his boots sinking into the sand as his body suddenly multiplied in weight.
Davina wasted no time and leaped upward.
Her intent was clear—she was going to end this quickly if she could.
Like a raw and hostile manifestation of the moon and stars, she swung her arm in a raw punch.
Seeing this, the High Millinar sneered inside. A punch from someone like her would do nothing to him. He lazily raised his saber to block, capable of moving still despite the heavy gravity. But when her fist connected to his blade, his face twisted.
CLANG—!
The force was heavier than he expected. Far heavier.
A hiss escaped his lips as the force travelled through him violently.
He was forced to place his second hand—on the flat of the blade to endure the blow. His arms trembled, and his bones creaked under the pressure. The heavy gravity, her gravity, was increasing the raw force of her attacks several times over.
Davina didn’t stop there.
Knowing that she wouldn’t get a second chance to surprise the High Millinar, she continued her offense.
Her body moved fluidly to the next attack, front-flipping—and brought down her tails against the saber, launching the High Millinar across the shore. He tumbled, rolled, and caught himself, skidding to a halt in a ready posture.
As a High Millinar, his battle experience was vast, and he was no less than an expert.
Every move he made highlighted that.
His wrathful eyes snapped back to her, reddened by shame—he had not expected to be pushed back by a weakling. He focused on the Major Law of Coldness once more—gradually activating it to the fullest extent, determined to accelerate its grip on Davina and end this quickly.
Almost instantly, the temperature dropped, and the air crystallized.
A bit late, but he realized his error now.
Rex came along with Davina, so—she might also have something up her sleeve, and he should not wait around and let her use it. Doing so would only bring death to him faster; that was what Diamantona said before the Purgation Duel.
And then he saw it; Davina staggered on her charge—her body seized up.
He wasted no time and struck.
At the last moment, a greenish hue covered Davina’s body.
The stiffness that seized her receded, just a little, just enough. She sidestepped the attack, her movement fluid again—and stabbed her claws into his side. She carved out his liver in one brutal motion, the organ coming free in her grip, and then a kick sent him flying.
It happened in an instant.
Before he realized it, he was already skidding across the red shore, blood pouring from the wound.
He came to a stop and hissed in pain, clutching his side.
And then, his gaze returned to his Davina, but there was clear shock in it.
"What was that...?" A rasping voice escaped his lips as he watched a greenish flicker that subtly coated Davina’s form—outlining her for a second before disappearing again. "How did he break free? She was clearly at her limit already."
Something was wrong about her, and it brought a chill down the High Millinar’s spine.
It was obvious that Davina was affected by the Major Law of Coldness.
Before assuming her weakness, he already probed her internal energy flow—and sensed his power was already overwhelming her. He didn’t assume, as that was a rookie mistake. He had checked her and was certain about his deduction.
However, at the last second, that ice-grip lessened and allowed her to counterattack.
From his perspective, it was almost like Davina had full control over the Major Law of Coldness.
Something impossible to do.
And then his eyes widened in realization. "Unless she has a Law as powerful as mine..."
As impossible as that sounds, there was no other explanation.
On the other hand—Davina smiled inwardly as he watched the horror and shock on the High Millinar’s face. She did not blame him for feeling that way. It would be unnerving for someone to break free from a Major Law’s influence like it was nothing.
But Davina also has a trump card.
’I’ll have you to thank for this, big sister.’ She thought inside.
Just earlier, before the Purgation Duel started—Lilliana had gifted her something that would immensely help her survive the high-level battle. She was the weakest, that was for certain, and Lilliana seemed to be concerned for her safety.
So, Lilliana gave her something.
Gave Davina the Minor Law of Time that she had gotten as a gift from the Warden of Time.
Of course, Davina was utterly shocked.
She had never known a Law could be gifted away like this. In fact, it shouldn’t have been possible—a Law belonged to a God, and that God would surely rage if its power were handed to another. Yet Lilliana insisted it wasn’t impossible.
Even though she was the genius, Lilliana was the eldest.
Before her birth, Lilliana was close to their mother and knew more about the family.
From their mother, Lilliana learned a secret technique that allowed Law transfer.
It could only be done between those tied in blood, and since they were sisters, that fit.
Of course, this technique came at a cost, as it would risk the wrath of a God, but there are steps that could be taken to minimize this risk. Lilliana didn’t have the time to perform those steps, but she took the risk anyway for her little sister.
Davina had been using the Minor Law of Time.
She made sure that she only used it subtly so that nobody would notice.
It was precisely how she managed to endure the Major Law of Coldness and Ice gripping her.
Davina used the Minor Law of Time to rewind time for her body—buying her more time to endure the Major Laws. Had that not been the case, she would probably die or at least become a burden. Something that would be a lifetime of embarrassment for her.
But thanks to Lilliana, she endured and survived up until this point.
Across, the High Millinar gritted his teeth and shot back up again, "What kind of Law do you have? No Demigod of your caliber could wield a Major Law."
"I have the Minor Law of Time," Davina smirked. "A mere Minor Law suppressed your Major Law. How embarrassing."
