The Invincible Full-Moon System
Chapter 2066: Battle of Invincibility Position (1)
Savouring the sensation of killing High Millinar Julas was entirely what he wanted, not needed.
But making sure that he died was something needed.
Rex wasn’t dumb.
Dragging out the kill so that he could savour the death of his enemies who dared cross him would be risky, as the other enemies might be able to rescue them, saving them from death’s mouth. So—he made sure that it wasn’t possible.
Just like what he did to High Millinar Vlaos and Angela, he used the Divine Tainting skill.
Achieving victory within the Purgation Duel would win over High Lord Rashal for good and also save him from future enemies—but it also served as a hunting ground for him. It was a perfect place for him to increase his divinity points.
Naturally, he made sure he killed his enemies through the Divine Tainting skill.
Before he tried ending High Millinar Julas, he had already planted the Heresy Mark.
It would normally take time to do that, but with High Millinar Julas’ weakened condition, he was easily marked without a hitch. Diamantona’s power earlier had seized the body before it was activated fully—which was why Rex was caught by surprise.
But once that power left High Millinar Julas’ body, the Heresy Mark was activated.
And even from a distance, Rex could command him to commit suicide.
A streak of energy shot out from the dark ocean below and seeped into Rex’s skin.
He closed his eyes for a second, and then opened them again with a satisfied exhale through his mouth.
Once again, his divinity points rose. It had passed the five hundred thousand points now.
Rex would need to be in contact with the body to absorb the divinity points from those inflicted by the Heresy Mark. However, with the Law of Inevitability, physical contact was no longer necessary—even from a distance, he could absorb them.
Even though it wasn’t as effective, it was more than nothing.
Forcing physical contact while Diamantona’s focus was on him would only get him killed.
Diamantona’s face soured at the sight.
And then, the sadness returned. He knew that these people were going to die already. For him, that was blatantly evident from how they were acting before the Purgation Duel. But he thought he might be able to push their deaths back.
But it seemed he couldn’t.
A sigh escaped his lips as he looked back at Rex again.
"I apologize in advance for not being able to kill you painlessly, Scion Rex." He stated flatly.
"No need to fret about that," Rex smirked. "Focus on being able to kill me first. I’m concerned that you might not be able to."
Diamantona didn’t answer with words.
Instead, he answered with a titanic might that erupted from the deepest part of his body.
Kaboom—!
Diamantona’s entire body exploded with a reddish supernova.
The detonation dyed the entire sky with blinding light—a searing, all-consuming radiance that forced every eye to turn away. Even Rex needed to cover his own eyes—his arm raised against the dazzling glare, but even through his closed lids, the light burned.
It was not the warm glow of a star. It was the cold, merciless brilliance of something being reborn.
As the light receded, Rex forced his eyes open.
Pain lanced through his skull, his vision swimming with afterimages, but he endured it.
He had to see.
He had to know what he was facing.
And what he saw stole the breath from his lungs.
Diamantona’s light blue combat suit dissolved, flaking away like ash in the wind, revealing his entirely bare body beneath. His skin was polished dark obsidian—smooth and reflective. His frame was neither large nor small, somewhere in the middle, but there was a density to him now.
A weight that transcended physical mass.
His skin began to harden with a sound like icebergs sizzling against warm water.
Slowly, the surface crystallized, turning into a polished obsidian gem.
One that shimmered with an inner darkness.
Crimson crystal armor began to manifest across his frame, contrasting sharply against the obsidian skin.
It thickened above his vital parts—chest, throat, joints—layering itself like the carapace of some divine warrior. A thick black sash with crimson rims draped across his shoulders, crossing from one side to the other, and dropped down his back all the way to his heels.
The fabric moved with a life of its own, swaying gently despite the absence of wind.
Both his eyes were closed.
But then the flesh beneath them began to cut open—clean, bloodless incisions that revealed something beneath. Red crystal filled the wounds, creating narrow slits on each cheek and at his forehead. The slit beneath his right eye shimmered brightly, swirling with a red gas that contained an unbelievable amount of immortal energy.
It pulsed like a heartbeat, like a third eye that saw things no mortal could perceive.
Then his eyes opened.
A pair of full crimson balls stared back at the world.
No pupils, no irises, just endless red depths that burned with cold fire.
And behind his head, a long red crystal lance emerged, extending from the base of his skull and curving upward like a crown. Its entire length was carved with engravings—and as immortal energy seeped into it, the engravings lit up one by one, a cascading sequence of light that traveled the length of the crystal-like blood through veins.
Once the transformation was complete, another thunderous eruption spread across the entire sky.
Boom—!
Even Rex was forced back several steps in the sky once the shockwave hit.
As the light receded completely, he blinked and looked across the battlefield.
Across from him was no longer a warrior—Diamantona had turned into something divine.
He stood straight, legs pressed tightly together, arms at his sides with palms facing forward—and chin tilted high. His posture was regal, statuesque, the stance of a higher being who had descended from the higher planes.
Just before, depression haunted his eyes.
But it was gone now, replaced by something cold and outright condescending.
Everything about him screamed power unlike anything.
And as his full form was revealed, the aura he emanated skyrocketed. The charged air around him bent. The dark ocean beneath him parted, and the sky itself seemed to brighten up as if the realm was fully bowing to its new master.
In the spectators’ seats, several High Lords rose from their seats.
"What is this aura...?"
"Impossible! How can a transformation increase his power this much?!"
Diamantona was on the upper echelon of the 2-star Awakened Demigod rank, which was already quite high. But now, his aura was emanating power closer to the 4-star Awakened Demigod rank. It was such an exponential boost in power that caught the High Lords off guard.
Boosting power past several minor ranks or even a major rank exists in the lower realms.
But in the god Realm, the difference between each small increase was simply too much.
Just increasing one’s power from the lower echelon of a rank to the middle was already considered a trump card for most. Anything beyond that would be considered a God-like power. And yet, Diamantona exceeded even that.
None of them expected the battle to go to such a length.
"One could devour divinity points, and the other exploded in strength..."
"Where in the universe did High Lord Ursa and Rashal find these two?"
Shock rippled across the spectators.
Despite the initial shock, many of them were glad that Diamantona also surpassed expectations.
Now, it wasn’t so hopeless anymore. Someone could defeat Rex.
Back on the battlefield, Davina stared at Diamantona and her heart clenched hard.
She covered her mouth—and gasped for breath when the enormous aura reached her. Both of her eyes widened in absolute horror. Just being near Diamantona was enough to press her lungs so hard that the act of breathing became a chore.
’Is this aura really coming from one person?’ She thought, shoulders shaking.
Not stopping at that, a searing air pressed onto her from all sides, forcing her to look away.
For a second, Davina saw bloodlust gleaming from Diamantona’s eyes. She could see a world drowned in blood, causing her legs to go weak. ’Such an immense killing intent! How-how many people did he kill to get such an enormous killing intent?! Even Rex’s was not as suffocating at this!’
Across countless battlefields, she had never felt dread like this before.
Being in a militarily disadvantaged position was nothing new to her, but this was beyond even that.
It felt like she was fighting an army of steel using only a wooden stick.
No chance of winning at all.
Just then, something squeezed her shoulder. It was a hand.
Rex placed a hand on her shoulder and squeezed while still staring at Diamantona floating across from him. And despite the situation, he glanced at her and flashed her a smile. "Don’t be afraid. As long as I am here, nothing bad will happen."
As soon as those words seeped into her ears, the overwhelming sensations disappeared in an instant.
His voice alone was enough to help her withstand the pressure coming from Diamantona.
It was magical.
No—his back was simply so big and strong that even Diamantona’s presence couldn’t go past it.
"Let us not waste any time, Scion Rex." Diamantona’s voice boomed through the air as he floated even higher, making sure that he was looking down on Rex, not the other way around. "Unleash your might, and let us settle this once and for all. Though your Invincibility Position was lower than mine, I don’t mind granting you death and sparing you from more pain. I know you’ve been through a lot."
Rex’s lips sliced up into a nasty grin.
He didn’t mind being looked down upon, but the way Diamantona spoke as if he understood everything was making him angry. Still, anger was more than welcome here. Only one of them would come out of this alive, not both, so he needed as much anger as he could.
"Lycanthrope."
KABOOM—!
Agreeing that there was no need for probing one another, Rex immediately activated his new skill.
Activated the Lycanthrope skill.
A destructive detonation of energy erupted from his body, dyeing the sky with the same blinding ferocity that Diamantona had unleashed moments before. The light was not red this time—it was a deep, cosmic silver, threaded with veins of black and gold and many other colours.
His werewolf form began to morph, twisting, breaking, reforming.
Bone cracked. Muscles twisted. Fur swayed and then receded.
Rex shed most of his beast traits, becoming something even more human than beast.
A hybrid between two worlds, the perfect fusion of man and wolf, of mortal and divine.
His frame straightened even further and his posture shifted from predatory to regal. His face sharpened, features refining, the snout pulling back into something closer to human—but still marked by the ancient lineage of his kind.
His stamina drained rapidly, the transformation costing him more than he had anticipated.
But the output was more than worth it.
A gurgling growl escaped his lips as his aura began to morph alongside his body. His energies churned, transforming into something else—something greater. But what caught everyone off guard, what made Diamantona’s eyes narrow and the spectators lean forward, was that even his immortal energy began to churn.
It swirled within him like it was about to transform into something else entirely.
Something beyond immortal.
For a moment, it seemed as though Rex was about to transcend.
About to break through a barrier that no one had ever crossed.
But then the churning receded. It reclined back, settling into its normal form.
Only then did the crowd exhale.
Even so, as the transformation completed—Rex unleashed a destructive aura that spread for miles. The ocean beneath him heated, steam rising in thick columns, and the dark water bubbling from the sheer intensity of his presence.
Above, the sky cracked open as the Greater Moon and Full Moons shifted their focus onto him.
Once everything returned to normal, his Lycan Form was revealed.
He was something more regal than his werewolf form. More deadly. All King Marks were activated at once, elevating his presence to an overwhelming degree. His aura matched Diamantona one-to-one.
"A battle of Invincibility Position," Rex smirked and pointed at Diamantona. "Either I die—or you do."
