The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1962: Total Humiliation

Chapter 1962: Total Humiliation

"Do you think it’s really a good idea to let him go all out like this?" Davina asked, concerned.

It was true that these Awakened Demigods came to their safe space to kill them, and death is the only appropriate price for doing that, but she was concerned about Rex. Concerned that he might not be in a good mental state and might make a mistake.

People die because of one careless mistake.

Davina had seen it countless times on the battlefield: competent soldiers dying because of carelessness.

And she didn’t want Rex to end up like that.

"That’s precisely why we should let him go feral against these people, little sister," Lilliana teased and flashed her a smile. "Clearly, something more happened during his meeting with High Lord Rashal that he is not telling us, so it’s best for him to vent out right now rather than later when the enemies are a lot stronger. Besides, it’s hard to find an outlet appropriate for him in the city."

"Outlet? What do you mean by outlet?"

"I mean something to vent his frustration out. Providing an outlet for a man is oftentimes very simple. Just satiate their lust, and they forgot about everything, but it’s hard for Rex. His appetite is big, and we don’t have the time to fool around. We got lucky that these fools attacked us—as Rex is as excited about battle as he was about sex."

"I see..." Davina nodded her head repeatedly.

She has no experience in having a relationship with a man, so she listened attentively.

No growth could happen if she couldn’t listen and learn; that much she knew.

But then, her brows dipped into a frown, and her eyes narrowed.

"Hold on, how do you know Rex has a big appetite? And how is it that you know a lot about him?"

"Ah—experience, I should say. I have developed an eye for discerning what a man might appreciate. A skill one cultivates over time. You would understand after you live with a man for a long time."

Of course, Davina isn’t that naïve in these things to not smell the lie in each and every word.

But before she could say something more, her gaze snapped forward.

"Aled! Damn, you bastard!!"

In the distance, an Awakened Demigod holding a big hammer and light, flowery armor could be seen mourning the death of his comrade. The one that Rex killed earlier. His vengeful, flaming eyes shifted toward them before he charged.

Out of blind anger, the Awakened Demigod charged straight at them.

"Should we be worried?" Davina asked.

"Maybe put up a barrier or something," Lilliana replied, slightly worried. "Rex might be occupied."

Naturally, Davina quickly drew on the power of the moon and stars to weave a barrier of silver light around them. It stretched only a few steps wide; a small, deliberate bubble. Compact. And far stronger for it.

And when it formed, the Awakened Demigod already launched skyward.

"Let’s see how you would feel after I burned your whores alive!!"

No restraint. No mercy; the Awakened Demigod swung the flaming hammer with everything he had.

Every fiber of his being was poured into the vicious arc; his muscles flexed, his veins bulged, his heart pounded with a sorrow-filled rage that demanded blood. He would crush Davina and Lilliana into meat paste with one powerful swing.

He would break their bones, rupture their organs, and burn what remained to ash.

And ferocious, all-devouring fire that kept on getting hotter would make sure of those things.

His dear friend was dead.

Ripped away by the target they had cornered, which turns out to be a monster. And the pain that filled his chest, this raw and bleeding wound, he would repay tenfold to Rex. He didn’t know exactly who these two women were, but they were close to Rex, and that was enough.

Killing them would be the first course; the appetizer.

Later, the main dish could be torturing Rex.

He would make sure that death would not come easily for this monster who killed his friend.

Once the hammer struck, the entire pocket dimension detonated.

BOOM—!

Flames erupted in a violent, roaring blaze that shook the entire flowery plain and destabilized the space within it. A dragon of fire clawed skyward from the impact point. Everyone could hear the deep, guttural roar of the beast echoing from the depths of the flames.

It seemed the bright orange flame contained the soul of a dragon.

And for a moment, the Awakened Demigod felt the satisfaction of annihilation.

He had employed every single thing that he had into that attack in order to destroy Davina and Lilliana; the Minor Oustification of Dragonflame, the Minor Law of Fire, and even an innate power that enhanced his attack multiple times over.

Not even the strongest Awakened Demigod in their group, Farhan, could easily block his attack.

Even though he saw that Davina and Lilliana had reacted—creating a barrier to protect themselves—it would not matter. He is an Awakened Demigod, while the two were barely Demigods. Against an attack from someone like him, they wouldn’t survive.

But he was wrong.

Once the embers receded, his eyes bulged wide as both of them were fine.

Davina and Lilliana sat exactly where they had been. Unmoved. They watched him from behind another translucent, crystal-clear barrier that was hard to see with the naked eye, shimmering faintly in the fire’s dying light.

His hammer had struck perfectly, but the barrier held.

It didn’t even crack.

Even though he had attacked with everything he had, used the strongest abilities he could muster, and channeled his fury to strengthen his attack with intent, his attack had been stopped cold. Heck, he did not even leave a dent on it.

Not even the smallest dent, as if his attack was nothing.

Lilliana offered the Awakened Demigod a smile, then leaned forward with effortless grace. Her bearing was utterly composed, a blade wrapped in silk, and it cut deeper than any steel could. Seeing her calm and still, untouchable grace pushed the Awakened Demigod to madness.

He was supposed to be the Awakened Demigod.

A being that stood higher in existence in comparison to Lilliana.

Someone far stronger. Someone whom she should bow down to.

But at this moment, under her gaze, it feels like she is the higher being. Not him.

"Do not trouble yourself so... recklessly. I am not your enemy," She paused, letting the words settle in his mind. Then, her eyes pointed at the vortex to the side before returning to his. "And do trust me when I say this—you do not wish to face him when his anger has grown bigger than this. My advice is that you should accept death gracefully."

"I never doubted him," Davina crossed her arms and shrugged.

As heart-racing as watching the full power of an Awakened Demigod was, she knew they were safe.

One thing that she was certain of most about Rex was that he would do anything to protect them.

"Don’t act like you’re not worried earlier, sister."

"Entertain me this once, will you? I was having fun with this gentleman here, and you’re ruining it."

Davina snorted as she was never fond of something like this.

But she supposed the Awakened Demigod tried to kill them, so he had it coming.

"I’ve killed animals that could decimate your entire realm with one breath. I’ve killed powerful beings that are much stronger than you. I have scoured realms after realms, slaughtered people, destroyed kingdoms, sunk an entire continent!" the Awakened Demigod roared, eyes blazing hotter as he pushed the hammer against the barrier more strongly. "Countless lowly women like you had begged me to kiss my feet, and you dare make fun of me?!"

"You’ve been around the realms and learned the world of the strong, bravo," Lilliana said soothingly, but her tone was dripping with sarcasm. She turned to Davina, "Did you hear that, sister? He’s a man with vast experience."

For more than a hundred years, he had been in the military; he had never been this humiliated before.

Not even his bullying seniors have ever made him feel this much humiliation.

As a future Millinar, he commanded respect and awe wherever he set foot. And yet this lesser being—a woman who was barely a Demigod—mocked him without restraint as though he were even less than an insect beneath her notice.

In the space of a heartbeat, his disbelief soured into raw fury again.

Ruthlessly, the flaming hammer became a blur of desperate, frenzied strikes. Each one carried the full weight of his sorrow, humiliation, and rage. Flames splashed everywhere, but the barrier held. It did not shimmer with strain.

It simply stood between him and the sisters with serenity and the absoluteness of protection.

"Still trying, eh?" Lilliana smiled tauntingly; she rubbed her index finger against her supple lower lip—watching the struggle with delight. And then her eyes looked over the Awakened Demigod. "I’m really advising you to help your comrades; one of them is about to die."

Some of the Awakened Demigods were being mauled by the stronger phantom wolves, which had power equivalent to a Demigod. Normally, none of the phantom wolves would be able to fare against these elite soldiers, but the Almighty Bearing was powerful.

And it weakened them enough to the point where the phantom wolves became a real threat.

Despite the taunt, the Awakened Demigod ignored it completely.

He tuned out the noises and focused on the moment.

’How is this possible?’ His chest heaved, and his mind reeled.

Only those who are far stronger than he could create a barrier this hard. For a barrier that was created by these two barely Demigod women, it shouldn’t hold. Even if he humbled himself to believe that the two women were stronger than expected, a few strikes for him should at least do something.

But the barrier held.

And then he finally saw it—coating the barrier were two additional layers of the power of law.

It was woven so seamlessly into the crystal surface that he had missed them in his rage.

One layer dispersed his flame before the hammer truly made contact, unravelling the Minor Law of Fire like a thread from a spool. And the other densified the barrier itself—compressing its structure to an impossible hardness.

Together, they made the shield impenetrable.

He could swing until his arms fell off, and he wouldn’t be able to break through.

’Law...? Not Minor Law? Only a proper Demigod could attain the full power of a Law. And only those who had ascended beyond Demigod could wield more than one,’ the Awakened Demigod’s gaze shifted toward the vortex as a realization dawned upon him like a lightning strike, and through its swirl, a pair of crimson eyes stared back. ’It’s him?! He possesses two Laws?!’

’Even then, to infuse two Laws, the foundation must be strong enough. These two weaklings would not be able to create a barrier strong enough to hold two Laws!’

Just then, he suddenly felt a sting on his shoulder.

It wasn’t coming from his flames as he was immune to it, so it must be something else.

He snapped towards his shoulder and saw the mark of a crown there, which contained an insurmountable amount of energy that felt heavy and dense. ’I was marked?! When?! And how come I didn’t realize it? How did that bastard manage this?!’

On the other hand, inside the vortex, Rex laughed deviously.

Now that his Divinity Points swelled, the skills that he couldn’t use before because they were too weak are usable again. His crimson eyes then fixated on Farhan again, "Now... Prepare yourself. I am going to retaliate for real, and I don’t want you dying too easily."

Farhan reacted quickly, knowing that things were getting too dangerous.

He was about to end Rex, and so did Mayla and Guarani.

But before their very eyes, Rex’s body dissolved into the wind and merged with the vortex.

"What?!"
