Chapter 1545 - 1545: Didn't Soften At All
Rex reached out his hand and undressed her lower part.
Mainly, he was taking off the armor on her right leg and also the stocking she wore underneath it.
“What are you doing? Is this what you’re aiming for all along, you perverted barbarian?!” Mira shouted.
She was horrified at the sight of Rex taking off her leg armor.
“Don’t overestimate yourself,” Rex sneered in response. “You’re not that pretty that I would go to this length to assault you. To finish the transformation, I need to put my pack mark on you. I can’t really put it out in the open, now, can I?”
Though her house wasn’t as respectable as the Aurelius House, Mira is still a noblewoman.
She must have several personal maids who would help in her daily activities, and all of them must’ve known her skin, like it was the back of their hands. If Rex put the Silverstar Mark on an open place, like her arms or neck, everyone would notice, and it would raise questions.
Due to that, he decided to put it in a place where it’s hard for anyone to see, even if Mira were naked.
Mire bit her lower lip as Rex’s hand touched her thigh and traced upward.
He kept going up, until his hand was barely an inch away from her most intimate part.
Once he decided on where to put the mark on, he lifted up her right leg a little, fixed his hand on a place near her intimate part, and underneath her curvy bottom. Nobody would dare to look over there, that is, if Mira had no husband.
But even then, it was manageable if the mark was there.
Using nothing but his will, he activated the Silverstar Mark at the palm of his hand, and marked Mira.
It didn’t take long, a few seconds.
Unlike branding the rune earlier, Mira only felt a warm sensation that lasted briefly.
Soon, a notification appeared.
<Mira Liz Ravencort has been fully transformed and registered as an Outer Pack Member!>
<Congratulations on expanding the Silverstar Pack further!>
<Does the user want to unleash her transformation freely or place a limiter?>
Place a limiter. I can’t have her accidentally turn into her Werewolf form now, can I?
Despite managing to turn Mira into a Werewolf—Rex seized her Werewolf form like he did on Flunra, or even Giana back then. She would retain the characteristics of a Werewolf, such as regeneration and becoming stronger the angrier she becomes, but she couldn’t turn.
She would be stuck in her normal form.
A simple touch that Mira would certainly appreciate if she knew.
“Done…” Rex nodded as he fell straight on his back.
Being on the other hand of Mira’s offensive capabilities were not a fun time; his regeneration was forced to work twice as hard, and that sapped a lot of his stamina. He was acting strong since the situation was not settled yet.
Now that it was, his legs immediately buckled.
“I didn’t come here for this…” Rex mumbled under his breath, sighing exhaustedly.
On the other hand, Mira could feel her body regenerating from the wounds.
It didn’t take long before she felt like she was in full power again, at least stamina-wise.
Sitting up, Mira looked down at her hands and body, inspecting her ‘new’ self.
She was checking whether she actually turned into a hulking monster like Rex did, but to her surprise, there didn’t seem to be any visible changes to her appearance, or at least there was not one that stood out too much.
Even then, she could feel that something fundamental to her had changed.
“I feel… invincible,” Mira whispered, a thrill pulsing through her veins as her blood surged—hot, fast, and efficient. Her senses sharpened to an almost unbearable clarity, too. “I can see and hear everything… the growls of Voidal Monsters somewhere, a wooden plank snapping beneath the rubble, even the sound of heartbeats.”
From Rex earlier, she only knew about regeneration and physical breakthroughs.
She wasn’t aware that her senses would also be enhanced like this.
“Part of the perks,” Rex said while still lying down. “It’s going to be more surprising in your other form.”
Upon hearing this, Mira turned towards Rex.
“What am I now? What did you turn me into? I at least should know what I am.” She asked.
Rex nodded—she does have the right to know about what she really becomes, “On top of being a Spirit, you are now—a Werewolf. A Beta of the Silverstar Pack. If you ever come down to the Mortal Realm, mention who you are, and you’ll be treated with respect… or killed.”
Despite knowing that telling others about this would get him into trouble, he decided to tell Mira the truth.
She was already a Silverstar Pack member, so she wouldn’t betray him.
Or at least, she wouldn’t betray him consciously.
“A Werewolf? Mortal Realm…?” Mira raised an eyebrow. “You’re not from our realm? This realm?”
“Nope, I’m only visiting,” Rex answered nonchalantly.
Of course, like everyone who heard about his origin, Mira was stunned.
Or at least, Rex assumed that Mira was stunned as he didn’t even bother to raise his head to look at her.
As he assumed, Mira was shocked, but not for the reason he assumed.
Instead, Mira was shocked because a person from the Mortal Realm could be as strong as Rex.
Given a bit more time, Rex would probably reach her rank, catching up to her painstakingly long ascent to obtain the power she has right now. It was a direct slap to her face, one that Rex did not even realize.
Naturally, she was annoyed, but it was then that she realized something.
‘It’s hard to stay mad at him,’ Mira frowned, feeling a weird, invisible connection between her and Rex.
Climbing back to her feet, Mira patted her armor and clothes before focusing on Rex again.
“What happened to my monster form?” She asked.
“I put a limiter on you—you will not be able to access your monster form,” Rex answered. “As long as you’re undercover, I’m going to keep the limiter on you to prevent accidental transformation. It’s quite a common occurrence. And with a temper like yours, it’s best this way.”
“My temper?” Mira scoffed in disbelief. “I’m practically a saint for not killing a barbarian like you right now, who massacred an entire house of a lord protected by the empire and even gave me no choice but to surrender myself and become a monster.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Rex gestured for her to back off with his hand. “I don’t want to argue, I’m tired.”
Hearing this, Mira was fuming.
But as she wanted to argue again, she paused.
“Undercover?” She repeated questioningly.
Upon hearing this, Rex opened one eye to look at her and nodded his head, “Yes, you’re going to gather intelligence for me. I’m sure a noblewoman like you has her own means to do this, so give me results as soon as possible.”
“About what?” Mira asked again, feeling a little bit uneasy inside.
“About Princess Davina,” Rex finally said blatantly. “I’m going to participate in the Nameless Dragon Arena tournament. I needed something from her, and you’re going to help me achieve that.”
“No way,” Mira said in shock. “No way! I won’t help you with this! I knew it… I knew that you were a perverted barbarian. Even if you turn me into a monster, I wouldn’t betray the princess. She has done nothing but good for my family, so I won’t do this for you!”
Rex was quite flabbergasted.
He thought turning her into a pack member would soften her a bit, but it didn’t.
Seems like Princess Davina is really respected. I assume everyone around her put her in high regard.
“I’ve never been called a perverted barbarian by a pack member before,” Rex sighed, pushing himself to his feet after resting long enough to stand. “But I’ll let it slide since you’re still new. You should have connected the dots by now. I’m not from this realm, so obviously, I’m here for something.”
“And I’m sure as heck didn’t come here for Princess Davina.” He continued firmly.
Perhaps, in this realm, Princess Davina was the prima donna, the woman everyone adored and certainly wanted, but he didn’t care. All he wanted was the Duke’s royal rank, so that he could gain access to the Sky City and save Devo.
Naturally, Rex told Mira exactly that.
At this point, both of them were on the same side, so she should know what he came here for.
Giving Rex a chance to explain himself, Mira listened to him attentively and soon realized that she was assuming things. He really needed to marry Princess Davina. “Fine, I believe you. You have done your research well. You do need a considerable standing to visit the Sky City, but it’s not Princess Davina you should be aiming for. It’s her father, Duke Lorcan.”
“Once you marry her, you should get close to him as soon as possible.” She added.
Upon hearing this, Rex raised a brow, “Why is that?”
“Visiting the Sky City would require the royal medallion of either a Duke, a Duchess, the Empress, or the Emperor himself. Not the house’ medallion, but their personal stamp, so your ticket to go there is on Duke Lorcan’s hands,” Mira explained.
Rex could only feel overwhelmed by this information.
Even when he managed to somehow marry Princess Davina, he still couldn’t get what he wanted.
But still, he needed to become her husband to get close to Duke Lorcan.
“Just promise me that you’re not going to harm Princess Davina, and I’ll help,” Mira finally said.
“I promise,” Rex nodded. “I won’t harm her. Not that I can since she’s probably stronger than me.”
“Okay, I’ll help,” Mira eventually agreed as she turned around to leave. “Where can I find you? I will certainly get the result within the next few days. Princess Davina retained close relationships with those under her reign, so I can easily probe her.”
“Send a messenger to the Aurelius House,” Rex answered. “I’m probably there. If I’m not there, talk to Lady April, the Thirteenth Princess of the house. She knows me, and I trust her to deliver the message to me.”
“Another Werewolf, I see?” Mira glanced over her shoulder sharply.
Rex shook his head, “No, you’re the only one I turned, so be honored a little, will you?”
“Hmph!” Mira scoffed and dashed away, leaving the premises.
She didn’t forget to bring Rodrick with her, as she had heard his conversation with Rex earlier.
Seeing how Mira barely changed her attitude—even when she was turned into a Werewolf, Rex could only shake his head, “It was either that my influence on her was lesser, since she’s technically stronger, or she’s good at hiding it. Either way, I can at least trust her to do her task.”
Before she left, Rex didn’t forget to scan her stats.
…

…
Rex scanned Mira’s stats and whistled.
“Woah, I didn’t realize she was that strong,” He murmured inwardly, surprised to see that Mira’s stats were almost triple his stats. “She really did hold back against me. Had she fought me in full power from the start, my chances of winning would be quite low.”
Trailing his eyes to the race section, he was intrigued.
Out of the existing pack members, none of them has this kind of bloodline before.
But as he was about to ask the System what kind of power this bloodline possessed, and how it compared to the others, his eyes caught sight of the status section. At the end, he found that Mira was mildly excited.
“Heh…” Rex sneered. “You enjoy that new power, yet you’re glaring at me like I wronged you. Typical damn noble.”
