Climbing onto the mutated eagle’s body, he looked at it in the eyes.

“Are we done now?” Rex asked, slightly panting. “I’m not aiming you—I’m aiming the mutated falcon. If I killed it, wouldn’t it not be better for you? You would dominate the sky after I leave, and you could practically do whatever you want”

Rex bargained, trying to make the mutated eagle understand that this would be its win too.
