The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1162: Complicated Relationship Dynamic

Rex came with the expectation that there was something concerning about the child.

He even rushed back to the city because of that.

But he never thought that the problem was the mother—Calidora, instead of the child. She is acting up again, cornering him against the wall because of an unreasonable cause. It was her obsessive side that came to greet him out of nowhere.

It has been quite some time since he saw this side of Calidora.

Knowing how she acted back then, Rex blamed all of this on the Eternal Curse binding them.

Ever since that curse manifested, Calidora became a psycho over him.

System, what happened to the quest about the Eternal Curse binding me and Calidora?

On that matter, Rex recalled the quest about the Eternal Curse he gained back when he was still in the university. He remembered that letting the Eternal Curse be—would be dangerous for him, and the System encouraged him to break the Eternal Curse.

Maybe if he really did then Calidora would not be as obsessive as she is right now.

However, the answer from the System made him frown.

<All issued quests prior to the System Relaying Bet quest that includes all Sudden Quest and Killing Intent quests—have been annulled, except other external quests such as the Kingdom Quest, thus, the Eternal Curse quest has been revoked.

<Breaking the Eternal Curse is possible, but the user will not be rewarded for doing it>

Upon reading this, Rex clicked his tongue in displeasure.

So that’s why the Killing Intent quest that was targeted at the Witch of Chaos disappeared.

During the night of the coronation after the reveal of Calidora’s pregnancy, he confronted the Witch, as he remembered that there was a Killing Intent quest aimed at her. Rex was going to kill her that night, but he didn’t as he couldn’t find the Killing Intent quest he recalled.

Moreover, he found a way suited to use the Witch so he decided to postpone killing her.

It’s the Witch of Chaos’s luck, she was not fated to die that night.

Even though he was extremely angry at the Witch for trying to extract the Eternal Curse from Calidora, knowing full well, that she was pregnant, he decided to make a cold-headed choice—letting the Witch off this time.

In her defense, she said that she didn’t know Calidora was pregnant.

But Rex found it ridiculous for her to not know that.

Now, with the reply from the System, it became clear why the Killing Intent quest was gone. Sёarch* The nôvelFire.net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

As it turns out, all quests have been revoked because of the System Relaying Bet quest.

Rex could only curse the Fifthborn inwardly as it was he that caused this.

I also forgot, should I tell the others about the System now to avoid that mistake again?

Just as he thought of that, his focus was pulled back to reality again.

“I’m talking to you, and yet you dare to wander elsewhere? Am I not that interesting for you?”

Calidora pushed her fingernail deeper in annoyance.

She couldn’t believe that Rex could wander his mind elsewhere in this situation.

Coming out of his daze, he focuses back on Calidora.

Upon being greeted by her pair of gleaming deadly eyes, he scoffed in utter disbelief.

I thought she already calmed down a bit now that she was carrying my child, but no.

Complaining inwardly, Rex tried to push her away but he groaned when Calidora’s fingernail pierced him even deeper. Being way stronger than her multiple times now, he was surprised that she could still hurt him.

She shouldn’t be able to, which is why Rex was stunned by this.

“How can you do this? I overpowered your part of the Eternal Curse. Also, didn’t your cursed power get absorbed by Evelyn? You should not be able to hurt me in your current state,” Rex asked, totally confused as to how this could happen.

Not only was he way stronger, but Calidora was weakened in her pregnant state.

So the fact that she was able to pierce her fingernail through his skin was quite baffling.

Just then, however, a notification appeared.

<All of the user’s stats have been reduced by 70% against Calidora Blodirra>

Hmm…? System, how does that even make sense?

<It’s an instinctive response of the body to the bearer of the user’s child called the Protector Pyrexia. Responding to Calidora, the user’s physique ‘soften’—so as not to in any way cause her harm>

Come on, this dynamic between me and Calidora never changed, and that’s a problem.

Before he could finish complaining—Calidora smirked teasingly as her fingernail glowed with blood energy as she pushed it deeper—grazing Rex’s ribs lightly, “You may be able to defeat the strongest entity in the world and make countless people kneel before you but I have and will always be in control of our dynamic—even your own body could not refute me”

“I am the mother of your child, remember that” She added with a daunting tone.

Following that, Calidora suddenly pulled him.

Brak!

Rex groaned lightly, and when he opened his eyes, he realized that Calidora was already on top of him. I know that there’s an instinct of me wanting to protect her for carrying my child, but I didn’t expect it to be this real. My body couldn’t produce any strength against her—not that I couldn’t, but it was instinctive.

Excited at the sight of Rex being dazed and confused, Calidora pinned him down.

She stepped on his chest and bent down pridefully.

Her pair of Vampiric eyes—donned in the most enchanting color of crimson gleamed, as she tied her hair into a ponytail, and went down to mount Rex with her lips—curling into a playful smirk.

In slow motion, she bites her wrist with her pointy, beautiful fangs.

Rich, dark blood welled up and flowed freely, streaming down her arm, Let’s clean the filth in your mouth shall we?” She muttered before she pooled blood in her mouth and bent down—kissing Rex again and pouring the blood pooled in her mouth into his mouth.

For a moment there, Rex was stunned—his eyes opened wide at the unexpected.

He could feel Calidora fed him blood mouth-to-mouth.

A pungent iron taste assaulted his tastebuds at this process, but shockingly, the taste turned sweet as he gulped down blood. Feeling that it was not enough, Calidora placed her bleeding wrist between their lips and let the blood drip into Rex’s mouth.

She did it with a surprising passion, and thoroughly cleaned Rex’s mouth with her tongue.

Each crevice was not safe from Calidora’s relentless but soft tongue.

But soon Rex recovered as he forced his body to gather strength.

Not going to accept himself being toyed around like this—especially after the earlier chase, Rex called it enough, and grabbed her neck with his big hand. Rex pushed her away, wiping the blood from his mouth, and lifted her up as he stood up.

I need to train her to behave. Seems like I couldn’t treat her like a regular person.

Even at this, Calidora was still smiling—looking fixed at his lips in satisfaction.

“Enough playing around, Calidora, I never said anything about being exclusive to you. In fact, you should be happy that I kept you around because of that child inside your belly” Rex, with a deeper tone muttered—his eyes squinting in seriousness. “Keep this up and after that child is born, I might have to make you leave”

“A child needs a mother” Calidora replied firmly. “I’m sure you know that already, dear”

Regardless of Rex’s sour expression, she knew that she had the upper hand.

Nothing would change that in this matter.

“Hmm… I expected you to say that,” Rex smirked in response. “I don’t know if you know this, but I like someone who is obedient the most. Being with Evelyn, Adhara, or even Gistella is a lot better than being with you. Keep this up and they will hog my time to themselves. Do you know what I mean, Calidora?”

“Perhaps, I might like them so much to give anything they asked,” He added, smirking wider.

Upon hearing this, Calidora’s expression tightened.

Despite the message Rex conveyed being vague—she knew what he meant instantly, it was troubling, and she could feel her blood boiling just from the thought of it. She had the upper hand against the others right now, but if that happened, her effort would be a waste.

Rex nodded inwardly seeing that Calidora was calming down visibly.

Seems like his method is working.

He would need to resort to this method if he wanted Calidora to listen to him.

But then, a series of notifications assaulted his vision.

<Aggression to Calidora Blodirra has been detected!>

<Sanity stat has been reduced by 30%!>

<Warning! The user’s sanity stat is nearing 20%!>

<Please increase the user’s sanity stat before reaching the threshold for side effects!>

Upon seeing these notifications Rex clicked his tongue as simple aggression towards her had a catastrophic consequence for him. A 30% reduction in sanity stat, is no joke, and he did not want to know how much reduction an actual aggression towards Calidora would give.

He felt a pang in his mind after the appearance of the notifications.

Even though these side effects penalty is new, Rex didn’t want to try them out.

Fearing for more side effects, he puts Calidora down.

Rubbing her neck, Calidora glared at him as if she wanted to eat him whole for the threat.

In response, Rex only smirked back as there was nothing she could do to him.

“Fine, you win this time! But starting from now, your needs are mine to fulfill. Never go to any of them again,” Calidora yielded, exhaling roughly. “I am pregnant—however—I am not at the point where I can’t do anything. Are we clear on that?”

“My needs? Do you mean my sexual drive? Sex?” Rex asked.

Surprisingly, Calidora’s expression reddened when she heard that, “S- Sex…?”

“Hmm…? What are you acting surprised for?” Rex raised an eyebrow in confusion. “What else are you talking about if it’s not sex? Besides, we already did it already even though I couldn’t remember anything”

“I- I thought it was only a kiss…” Calidora muttered, showing surprising shyness.

Looking at Rex in embarrassment, she added, “Do you have to do that? I’m already pregnant”

“Sex is not only for child-making, I also need it once in a while” Rex replied, making Calidora’s complexion, as red as a tomato. But then—his mind was curious about something, “How long would it take until you gave birth? Is it even nine months?”

As opposed to answering, Calidora unlaced her dark crimson corset slowly.

She opened it, exposing a glimpse of the enticing, beautiful figure that Rex saw that night in her castle—particularly her lean but curvy torso. But Rex’s eyes were pulled to the mark—or tattoo on Calidora’s stomach.

It was a mark that took the shape of an X, a crossing of blood-red lines.

Her navel was the core of the mark.

Pointing at the mark, she explained, “More or less—a Vampire, and a Human, are the same in terms of pregnancy. However—we have this mark that will grow with the same rhythm as the baby inside. When the time to give birth is near, there would be the final mark here which will be the bloodline crest”

“It should be the Blodirra crest, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there will be a silver star instead of my family’s crest as it’s yours” She added, rubbing the spot above her navel. It is the place where the last mark would appear.

Rex listened to this attentively before he eventually nodded in understanding.

It was quite simple to understand, so it’s not a problem.

“However, when the last mark appears, our child will need a vast amount of blood energy, as it would certainly inherit your abnormal strength. I am confident—that it would be quite a lot. Also, nearing the time of birth, you have to stay with me” Calidora added.

Upon hearing this, Rex chuckled, “Stay with you? I will not be easily fooled”

“If you don’t then it will be a miscarriage, do you want to kill our baby?” Calidora asked back.

Seeing the serious expression, Rex clenched his jaw as it seemed it was not a lie.

“I get it, there’s no need to say something like that” He waved his hand with a sigh.

Approaching Calidora—Rex carried her in a princess style—as he intended to go back to the castle, “Before I do as you said, you have to do one thing for me first. Regardless of the way, make peace with Evelyn”

“Hmm?! But I don’t wa…” Before Calidora could finish, Rex already raised an eyebrow.

He gave Calidora a warning look.

Seeing this, she could only bite her lower lip, “Alright, I’ll do something about it”

Just like that, the Second Breath started.

Days passed by in a blur inside the castle’s walls with people adjusting to the new world that forced them to change or be swallowed. A lot of things needed to be addressed and the city needs to make some changes to adapt to the new world.

Not only the Clarentium Empire, but it was the same for other high-rank Supernatural races.

It was an adjustment period, the more peaceful period of the Second Breath.
