Chapter 1127: Coronation (1)
Knowing the wellness of the punishment, Kyran didn’t bother informing Rex about it.
As Rex instructed—there was no need to inform him of everything that Kyran did—so that he could focus on other important matters, and this marked Kyran’s effective start as his official representative.
Of course, it’s off the record as Kyran’s matters of handling things shouldn’t be known.
If it was on record, then that person would probably be Evelyn.
Needing to replenish his energy, for the upcoming events of the day—Rex ate all the food on the table heartily. So do Flunra, and Kyran, they also still need to prepare. All of them are still in their pajamas, naturally, they need to change.
“Have the two of you gained your attires for the coronation?” Rex asked after eating.
Flunra shrugged his shoulders, “The Luna is the one arranging that,”
“Yeah, Evelyn came by to me a couple of days ago, asking about the type of attires I would wear—during the coronation. She said that—the design would be made by a designer from Ratmawati City, while the making process would be done by the Elves,” Kyran replied.
Upon hearing this, Rex nodded his head repeatedly.
I did tell the girls that I couldn’t be bothered by it as recuperating comes first.
Rex smiled wryly at the realization, turns out the Elven delegate was here about the attires.
As that became clear, the three separated and went back to their chambers.
However, when Rex was about to head to the alley heading to his chamber—he opted to turn the other way and headed to the terrace instead. Stepping out into the sunlight, he basked in its warmth for a moment.
Letting the warm hands of the sunlight touch his skin was enough to make him feel alive.
Not as rejuvenating as the moonlight, but this soothes his human side.
Making his way to the dark, brass-colored balustrade—Rex gazed down upon Dargena City.
From the towering terrace of the castle, he could see the city was bustling with life, it was a mosaic of colors and cultures, each thread weaving different stories. Today, however, was a memorable day, the dawn of the new era.
The coronation day of the emperor of the newly established empire, the Clarentium Empire.
Under the new empire were varying Supernatural nations.
Amongst them were the Elves, Tigerman, Dwarves, Orcs, and the Dark Elves.
People, hailing from varying backgrounds, crowded the thoroughfares. All of their faces were a kaleidoscope of anticipation and jubilation—mirrored the unity of an empire bound by hope and triumph.
Flags fluttered proudly, banners emblazoned with victory unfurled against the clear blue sky.
It has been a week—but the recent triumph against the Executor still sought for celebrations.
All gathered at the main district of the city—the sounds of laughter, and celebration mingled as all awaited the castle’s gate to be opened. It was a special day, a day to hold the promise of a brighter future under the reign of their new emperor.
Other than the others being safe, this was another satisfaction to Rex’s inner desire.
He was happy that he could somehow make this all happen.
“Maybe because of all the fighting I did, but it feels like yesterday when I ended my hatred of the Supernaturals, with the death of Ruston. And now, I somehow managed to create a place for Supernaturals and Humans to co-exist” Rex mumbled to himself, feeling surreal.
Everything was moving so quickly but he was glad that it was moving in a better direction.
Looking up at the clear sky, Rex smiled inwardly.
“I only wish all of you were here to witness my achievements firsthand,” He mused, reflecting on the past with a pang of regret that neither his biological nor foster parents were here with him anymore. “I wonder if my actions would be acceptable to them,”
“Probably not…” He finished with a guilty smile, knowing the atrocities he did to get here.
Just then, a loud shout came from the inside.
Rex frowned and looked over his shoulder, seeing two maids hesitantly approaching him.
“Your Majesty,” the two greeted and bowed respectfully.
Still peering inside the castle, Rex asked, “What is it? What is all that shouting for?”
“Forgive us for interrupting your peaceful moments, but Your Majesty is being expected to be in the main bed chamber,” One of the maids informed, trying to sound as polite as possible. It was clear that the maids, knew how high Rex’s standing was, and was briefed by Sebrof. “It’s time for Your Majesty’s dressing”
Upon hearing this, Rex could only massage his forehead.
It must’ve been Adhara and Evelyn who were searching for him, and that probably gave a big headache for these two maids as they saw Rex was in his peace. But then again, he did need to change so they should have just informed him.
However, he understands why they were hesitant.
Rex sighed before he cast one last look at the city street below as a thought came to mind.
Considering his strength, he should also achieve the same unity of both sides as I did. Then, he must’ve witnessed the same scene I see now. To think that he somehow ended up with a decision to destroy this beautiful sight, he must be a lunatic.
Naturally, Rex was commenting about the Supreme One.
Based on the Fifthborn’s last words, he sought peace initially for both sides.
It was only later that the Supreme One decided to commit genocide on the Supernaturals.
Just thinking about it made Rex’s view of the Supreme One even lower.
Creating the Executors was already a bad idea, but that kind of decision is even worse.
No logical explanation, was able to justify the Supreme One’s decision, it was backed only by irrational motives, such as a desire to watch the whole world burn or a state of insanity could possibly aligned with such a narrative.
I would know the actual reason eventually, but I doubt it would change my view of him.
Rex shook his head and turned around.
He knew that he would need to learn about the Supreme One in order to study the System.
But no matter what it is, if placed in the same position—I would never make that decision.
…
Late morning, the entrance of the castle.
It came the time of Rex’s coronation which was held at the great hall of the castle.
But before that, there was the initial ceremony.
Upon the grand doors swung open, they revealed the opulent courtyard that was a beautiful spectacle of regal splendor. Draped with swathes of crimson, gold, and black, the courtyard exuded an aura of majesty that befits to be walked upon by a position higher than kings and queens.
A divine regality set for only the position of an emperor.
Towering banners fluttered proudly in the wind, bearing the sigils of nations—while powerful soldiers clad in armor of shining material—stood sentinel along the perimeter. Each poised a high realm individual from the Supernaturals and Humans who held a royal rapier in hand.
Moving in a union, these powerful soldiers pointed their royal rapiers skywards as a greeting.
A royal pathway for the main figure who was about to come out of the castle.
Located behind them—were the dignitaries and nobility from all corners of nations under the new empire, a sea of colors, their elaborate attire shimmering in the soft glow. From the front near the entrance to the further position near the gate—the Elves, Dwarves, Tigermen, Orcs, Humans—and lastly, the Dark Elves were arrayed accordingly.
Each stood shoulder to shoulder, a gathering of nobilities—high-ranking members of society.
Moreover, their kings and queens were also present for this royal procession.
Clad in the grandest attire they could produce, they were standing right outside the gate.
Also, Elder Tilrith and Elder Nolacula were present—located by the kings and queens.
It was a testament of unity and also respect to the new emperor.
Positioned about twenty meters away from the gate was a rock with the people who came to see the coronation circling around behind the wall of guards. Naturally, it was no original rock that was created solely for this day.
Standing beside the rock with a black spear that radiates with power was Evelyn herself.
Her appearance had undergone a transformation—she was now adorned in a carmine, royal dress that matched with her fiery red hair which cascaded down in waves of regal elegance—the magical fabric enveloped her form, folding and flowing gracefully towards the center.
At the stomach, a silver crescent moon symbol added celestial allure to her beauty.
Intricate decorations and accessories of white gold perfected her dress.
Just her presence alone was enough to make her the center of attention until the ceremony.
As the murmurs of anticipation bulged into a crescendo of excitement, the sound of trumpets heralded the arrival, of the soon-to-be crowned emperor. Everyone, within the courtyard was tensed when the trumpets pierced their ears.
In an instant, the entire place was infiltrated by a palpable energy befitting of a ruler.
Rex eventually stepped out of the castle and into the light.
Despite the ongoing rumors that he was wounded from the battle—there doesn’t seem to be any indication of that as he began to walk the carpet with pulsating power. His overbearingly strong aura was enough to tell that he was full of vigor.
His black ceremonial robe with inner crimson that fell to one shoulder fluttered overbearingly.
Casting an approving look to the nobilities present, Rex stepped into the eyes’ of the mass.
Upon exiting the castle’s courtyard—the onlookers now could view him.
Out of reflex, all of them held their breath at his spectacular sight.
Everywhere within the area was silent, only the sound of Rex’s footsteps could be heard.
Exuding readiness to embrace the mantle of leadership—his commanding presence drew all eyes towards him, his gaze steady and unwavering as he approached Evelyn. It was obvious to see that Evelyn was proud and increasingly excited as he drew nearer.
None of the people knew what the ceremony would be like.
All of them were questioning what this initial process was for—but were excited to know.
Giving her a light smile, Rex stopped in his tracks beside Evelyn.
Bowing gracefully, she handed the black spear which Rex accepted with grace.
It was only then that the powerful soldiers, that were walling the onlookers made their move, gathering their energies to create a sky-high barrier. Judging from the vibrating power within the barrier, it easily reached the seventh-rank realm.
Only when the barrier was erected that Rex proceed to the special rock.
Taking a couple more steps forward, he looked down at the rock and found five holes in it, a symbolization and also a promise of Rex’s ascent as the emperor. Nodding firmly, Rex raised the black spear before infusing it with his own energy.
Kaboom!!
Violent shockwaves rippled through the air but were stopped by the erected barrier.
As his energy reached its zenith, Rex executed a commanding gesture—driving the spear in hand forcefully into the rock—unleashing an even more potent shockwave. Rex—settled the spear into one of the five holes, cracking the rock with a blend of his own energy and chaos, illuminating it with an intense glow.
Eventually, the shockwave faded and left one glowing white star on the rock.
Upon closer inspection, there were still four more un-illuminated stars.
Seeing this detail, coupled with the chaos energy that was being made visibly by the erected barrier—the onlookers gasped in realization. As opposed to the regular ceremony, Rex began with a declaration and promise.
It was clear now that the black spear belonged to one of the Executors, the Fifthborn.
The one that Rex managed to defeat in the previous battle.
On top of that, seeing that there were four remaining holes in the rock—it was obvious what he meant by them. It was a declaration of power—a pledge to his people that no matter who came to bring them harm, all of them would meet their demise.
During the initial process of the coronation, Rex decided to create an exclusive trademark.
If he could defeat the impossible enemy, then no foe is impossible for him.
