Chapter 2506: Dream Sect

"The most important realm in the universe?" Lex repeated, a number of different answers flashing through his mind. The answer clearly depended on whether or not Arch-Heaven could be considered another realm or not.

The general consensus was that it was not a realm, and instead constituted a special part of the universe which granted access to the natives of Vael?n to interact with, and in a limited capacity, influence the larger and wider operations of the universe itself. The higher the position, the greater ones could influence the universe. Ultimately, however, that influence was not something permanent, and could at most be considered the authority to handle tasks on a case by case basis.

As for what the actual drawbacks for having such a position were, there was no clear consensus. For now it appeared that whoever held a position could simply leave Arch-Heaven when and as they wished.

All of that, for now though, was irrelevant since the universe was clearly about to undergo some major changes. Even if Arch-Heaven was not the most important realm, Lex imagined that privilege should have previously belonged to some place like the Primal realm.

Now, though, he had to admit that Liz was probably right. Eclipse had not been shy about revealing her strength when she finally did it, and he doubted that there was anyone around who would want to confront her. Or at least he hoped not.

Fights over the right to be recognized as the strongest would, generally, include some very powerful beings. A fight for the right to be recognized as the strongest in the universe would cause far more destruction and devastation than they had already faced.

"Well? Are you impressed?" Liz asked as she tossed the badge to Lex. "In truth, this is compensation. Originally I made a deal with Oaka for him to offer you some help during your fight. But before he could offer that help, the axe fell and you disappeared from the Dream realm. Thus, according to our contract, he failed to uphold his end of the bargain.

"So, to compensate me, he had to use up a whole lot of his personal wealth to grant me this badge. He even went as far as saying that you’re the first person in the entire universe to gain access to these privileges in the Dream realm since the Dream Master had not planned on letting outsiders have this access yet. But you seem to have good relations with Oaka or maybe someone higher up which is why he could give this to me."

Lex did not explain that he was on good terms with the Dream Master herself. Some things were best not spread. Even if Liz herself had no bad intentions, there were too many ways that things could go wrong. Instead, he simply observed the badge closely.

"Did Oaka mention what these privileges are?" Lex asked. "Or have they not started yet?"

He had no need to access the Dream Arena, so while that particular benefit was amazing, it did not actually benefit him in any way.

"Many have already started," Liz said as she leaned back on her sofa and spread her arms out, sitting like a gangster in a low budget movie. "Oaka gave me a whole orientation on it. Using the badge, you can enter the Dream realm with your real body, even now, during this universal transition period - whatever that means. Naturally, you can also exit whenever you wish.

"The higher privilege tier also allows you to buy certain treasures that are unique to the Dream realm, and have been collected since ancient times. They’re not available anywhere else in the universe. Oh, and with this badge you can redeem a number of special techniques from the Dream Sect.

"Most of its members are Sandmen. I’m not sure how powerful the sect is, but Oaka hinted that it was very powerful. I personally think that it was the Dream Sect that was responsible for kidnapping Dao Lords and putting them to sleep."

Liz knew quite a lot about the missing Dao Lords because she was among the members who had been sent to the Dream realm by the Tower of Providence to rescue them. That mission had failed miserably.

Lex nodded. Although he had not heard of the Dream Sect before, its affiliation with Eclipse was more than enough to assure him that it was incredibly powerful. If he connected it, then, to the Dao Lord kidnappings... it was definitely worth checking out. Their techniques would not be something to look down on.

Liz watched Lex take in everything she said and not show any major reaction, but her feeling of smugness was unaffected. Everything she had said before this was merely the appetiser. Why would she be so confident in her gift if that is all it amounted to?

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot," she said casually, looking at her nails as if determining whether they needed to be cut. "The badge also gives you access to the Dream Lake. It’s no big deal, the lake merely helps you form a Dao Heart. There’s nothing else in the universe like it. Not a big deal."

Lex’s eyes widened as he looked at Liz stunned. A lake that helped form Dao Hearts? Although Lex himself did not yet know what that was exactly, he’d never heard of any treasures that could consistently and repeatedly help with such a thing!

Sure, there were probably such treasures out there in the universe, but they were rare and unique. Using one meant there was one less in the universe. Anything related to the Dao was exceptionally rare, let alone something that helped one form a Dao Heart.

A deep, overflowing sense of satisfaction filled Liz as she watched Lex’s reaction.

"Did I mention that the badge can be used to enter the lake multiple times? I think the limit is once every ten thousand years or something like that."
