Chapter 2175: Oh dear, who knew it would be a bad idea?

Lex did not focus on the notification for now, instead maintaining his focus on Harriot. He would deal with the quest update after he left. Fortunately, Harriot was on his way out already.

The poodle did not linger, walking out of the office once the conversation was over. Ordinarily he would just dismiss this clone of his, but he wanted to go talk to Wu Kong once before leaving. That monkey was up to something, and Harriot just needed to make sure that his schemes would not end up harming the garden, even if only indirectly.

Once he was gone, Lex turned his focus towards the notification.

Lex took a deep breath, and then sighed. Of course the quest was not simple, or easy. Unfortunately, Lex was a chronic overachiever, so hearing about the new parameters by which the quest would be judged, he already knew where he was going to establish the resort for maximum benefit.

Yet actually deploying it might have to wait until Lex was free from learning the Masterless Technique. He couldn’t be sure because if he took too long to learn the technique, he might be forced to use alternative means.

At least he could begin making preparations for the resort beforehand. Speaking of which, he would need to strengthen the space of the resort if he was going to carry out his plans. For that, he would need to get his hands on those Star Dust Dandelions, which could help him create a strong, independent space. The normal timeline for that was a thousand years, if he recalled correctly, and that certainly wouldn’t work for him.

After thinking about it for a moment, he decided he could give the dandelions ten years to mature. Now he just needed to figure out how to do such a thing. As it happened, there was a certain turtle who had been clamoring to meet the Innkeeper anyway.

"Mary, send in the turtle," said Lex as he took his seat and prepared to argue against the Sovereign. Since he was aware of what was happening inside the Inn, he could more or less guess what issue the turtle had encountered. It was truly a case of suffering from success.

It did not take long before the turtle arrived inside the office, glancing around for a moment to evaluate it.

"Oh dear, you could do with some indoor plants in this office," the turtle said, even as he brought out some pots from within his shell, placing a White Banana Bread Bush on one side, while placing Armageddon Melon Trees on another side.

Both of these plants were original creations of the turtle, made upon the request of certain guests. Who knew they’d be so popular once they were made, not to mention valuable?

After setting down some pots, the turtle began to hang some fast growing Blossom-Ivy’s on the ceiling and...

The Innkeeper coughed, as if to remind the turtle that it had come here for a reason, and interior decor was not that reason. Though, admittedly, Lex liked the idea of having a Banana Bread Bush in his office.

It was exactly as it sounded - a bush that grew fresh Banana bread that was both scrumptious and a tonic for up to Earth immortals suffering from minor poisons.

"Oh dear, a cough? You’ll need some Mentholians for that," the turtle said as it pulled out small creatures made of mint leaves. These tiny creatures cleaned the air of pollution, got rid of small pests, and were considered good luck - unless placed next to Cloverians.

Mentholians and Cloverians, when placed close together, were considered bad luck by most. Of course, as an Innkeeper for countless races, Lex knew that the superstition was fake, and mostly based in racism since their combination could give birth to a Sixteen Leaf Super Clover, which could attract leprechauns from across realms.

Leprechaun racism was rampant across the-

"No, stop sidetracking me," said the Innkeeper as he shifted his gaze from the tiny green creatures that began to crawl atop his desk, leaving behind a fresh, relaxing scent.

Metholians were one of the rare creatures that had a soul and body, but no spirit, acting solely on instinct, which is why it was safe to keep them even in confidential locations as they were incapable of things such as espionage and betrayal.

The turtle, as if caught red handed, quickly withdrew all the vines from within its shell and sat in front of the Innkeeper as if he had done nothing wrong.

"Silly Innkeeper, I am not sidetracking you. I’m improving your office," the turtle said while shaking its head. "But if you want to talk about work, then we can do that. Oh dear, who knew trying to make a Heaven using all the Heavenly trees would not be a good idea?"

The Innkeeper looked at the turtle with a completely neutral face. Honestly, he didn’t know that this would be a bad idea either, but he could have guessed as much.

"The question is, what do you want to do about this situation now?" said the Innkeeper as he turned to look towards where the turtle was planting its Heavenly trees.

There, he saw the Gardened, sitting crosslegged underneath the Bodhi tree, his body completely jacked, and radiating an exceptionally pure aura. In fact, there were eight pairs of illusory angel wings behind him, and if they solidified, the Gardener would go from being a human to an Arch-Angel. Now that should be fun.
