Chapter 2155: Growing Supremacy
Chapter 2155: Growing Supremacy
Contrary to what it appeared like to literally everyone within that asteroid field, Paul included, Lex was not raging with silent fury. In fact, internally he was as giddy as a child as he tested out his new powers.
Yes, his tendency to tell his enemies to kneel was becoming somewhat of a predictable habit, but could he be blamed? Since this was one of his most repeated tricks, it was easy to compare. For example, how effective it was when he did it to a bunch of Heaven Immortals compared to how effective it was now, against six Celestial Immortals.
In truth, what he had done was infinitely more complex than utter a single word. Within the span of time it took to utter that one word, Lex had manipulated the laws of karma tens of thousands of times, creating the perfect foundation.
When his enemies looked at Lex, they formed Karma with him. When they thought of him, they formed Karma. When they talked about him, they formed Karma. From planning on how to fight him, to analysing his ability, positioning themselves relative to him, forming intentions to attack him, all of it formed Karma.
Now traditionally, these lines of Karma were too thin to do anything, which is why he reinforced them. The more Karma they accumulated with him, the quicker and stronger he made the strings connecting them at an exponential pace such that... by the time Lex uttered the word to ’kneel’, they no longer formed ordinary karmic strings. No, what bound them to Lex was the web of an Eclipsecrawler Sentinel.
If Eclipse herself had not had her abilities restricted, she would have sensed the application of that web which had not appeared in the open universe since she retreated to the Primordial Garden.
With such immensely strong Karmic ties as a foundation, Lex used his Dao Intentions, combined with his Domination, to control the ruling law of Tether... tethering them to his will. When he further used it to utter the word kneel, the laws all around him scrambled to obey.
For now, Lex was not using actual Dao. No, he was merely using laws to faintly and weakly replicate its effects, and even that was further diminished by the fact that he only had a 25% Dao Body, meaning the effect only displayed one fourth of its already weakened strength.
To mere Celestial Immortals, though, it was an overwhelming, undeniable command that overrode their own control even over their own laws.
In the brief moment that it took for them to kneel, they were cut off from controlling laws, for it was the law of Tether controlling them.
Lex moved, his every action, his every intention strengthening the Karma between him and the six Celestials, weakening them beyond even their current state.
Naraka, the sword that was formed in part from Lex’s own bones, became the perfect carrier for his Dao Intentions, carrying them without burden as the sword swung through empty space. Through Tether they were chained to his will, and through Anchor they received their penance.
Even though the six Celestials were all far from Lex, when his blade slashed through the air, they all felt a soul ripping agony, as if the sword had cut through space itself to cleave off their souls.
A cry, no, a howl of utter despair shrieked through the void of spaces six Celestials all suffered soul damage within seconds of Lex’s arrival - something that had not happened during the weeks that this fight had been ongoing.
The moment their knees finally touched the ground, they were momentarily freed from the burden of unquestionable obedience, and they did not delay. Each of them shattered a token hidden within their bodies, instantly teleporting them away from the asteroid field, abandoning the countless immortals they had brought to battle.
A typical fight among Celestial Immortals lasted months or years without significant progress. It was very much a battle of wit and strategy as it was a fight of raw power and laws, for it was atypical for any to have such overwhelming command of any of the eight ruling laws, thus it became a competition of finesse and ingenuity. That was not the case today.
Today, a Heaven Immortal came before them and displayed unquestionable supremacy over laws he should not have been able to touch, broadening their horizons to the terrors of the universe.
Lex immediately felt his Tenet strengthen, as his display of Supremacy against stronger foes very much allowed him to gain tremendous feedback. Even just standing there, Lex became stronger after a single moment than he was when he slashed out that sword.
He had a feeling that if he wished, and if he expended a bit of energy, he could resummon those Celestials as their connection through Tether had not faded. Yet he did not do that, for fighting them was not his intention to begin with.
Lex put away his weapons, and surveyed the stillness that had filled the asteroid field, taking in all the shock and horror that gripped everyone there. He could not help but smirk. Who said taking unorthodox paths in cultivation wasn’t worth it? Could he have done any of this if he was just cultivating normally?
The best part was, he had only used his Dao Body. Lex had not yet leveraged his Primordial aura or Nephilim candidacy in this fight at all.
Fortunately, since he was wearing a mask, none could see his smirk, or the awe inspiring image he had created in front of them all would be ruined.
"So, old geezer, now that I’ve helped you with this fight, how about we chat?" Lex asked, turning towards Kenta’s father.
"Who the hell told you to do that?" the old geezer asked angrily, which was not the reaction Lex had been expecting. "We spent months here pretending to fight each other so we wouldn’t need to go to a real battlefield, and now you’ve gone and ruined it. What do you want us to do now? Go and fight actual battles?"
