Chapter 1946 Beautiful graveyard

Chapter 1946 Beautiful graveyard

While the jackal was freaking out, quickly trying to fix things from his podium, Lex felt the scan probing deep within his being, assessing every facet of his existence. From the panic he could see on the jackals face, he could tell that this was far from ordinary.

Lex swore to himself that if the reason his parents left him on earth was because he was secretly from another universe he was going to flip out. But, after entertaining the ridiculous thought, Lex began considering a much more realistic scenario. Was it possible that he had something on him, or perhaps he had contact with someone from another universe? Could it be that the systems were from another universe?

But that didn’t make sense, especially considering how strictly his system warned him about it not associating with Universal Rejection. That told him that the system cared tremendously about the rules of the universe. Then again, that was exactly the kind of behavior someone would have when they were trying to avoid detection.

Before Lex’s imagination could go wild, the red light around him disappeared, and the deeper scan ended, having discovered nothing of concern.

Neither Lex nor the jackal knew why the registration process had encountered that small hiccup, but seeing how it eventually ended normally, both of them were relieved.

“Congratulations,” the jackal said with a wide grin, as if he hadn’t been panicking mere moments ago. “You are now officially registered in the Arch-Heaven. Your limiter will reduce over the next few hours by 0.1%, which is probably the biggest jump you will see any time soon. Trust me, it’s not easy to reduce the effect of your limiter – I’ve worked for endless years to reduce my limiter as much as I have.

“Anyway, you asked about others. I don’t know the location of too many people since I’ve never encountered a settlement, and most people have a tendency to move around searching for a way to get an official position. My best suggestion is that if you’re looking for people, search for Spirit essence rivers or lakes. They usually make good cultivation spots.”

Lex nodded.

“Thanks for the help. I guess I’ll see you around,” Lex said as he got ready to exit.

“You know, being here is not all bad,” the jackal said as if giving some advice, though his expression expressed that he might have been talking to himself. “The absence of distractions or interruptions is very good for your cultivation. Look at me – at this rate, it’s only a matter of time before I discover my Dao.”

Though his words were very positive, his tone was almost pleading, as if the jackal was hoping it would come true. Lex merely chuckled as he exited the building, though his casual expression changed the moment he stepped out.

One reason for his expression change was the fact that his surroundings had changed. No longer was he in the middle of a cozy, natural landscape with ordinary trees, grass and cotton blobs that could replace clouds. No, the warm and welcoming landscape had changed.

Everything had gone from being ordinary to everything being extraordinary, far beyond him or anything he had ever seen. Even the colors of nature had changed. From bright and warm colors, everything had become stronger, and gained an element of grandiosity. Even the grass that barely climbed up till Lex’s knees actually felt like it was towering above him from the sheer aura it gave off.

Lex was not the kind of person to develop an inferiority complex, but over here, he was truly, genuinely inferior. In fact, he had glimpsed upon the wonders of the Primordial Age in the Primordial Garden tended by Eclipse, yet even that paled in comparison to everything around him.

Had his mind been any weaker, Lex would have stumbled back into the hall he came from just to get a reprieve from the mere exposure of everything around him.

But since the aura didn’t actually harm him or actually oppress him in any way, Lex managed to recover, even if it exerted a certain type of pressure on his mind.

That allowed him to focus on the second reason he had changed his expression upon stepping out. While he was within that room, in front of the golden jackal whose aura Lex could not detect, he dared not have any stray thoughts. Now that he was out, Lex allowed himself to ponder over the most likely reason why the registration had encountered an issue.

Lex was almost certain that the traces of Regal Embrace were what had caused the reaction. There was something about that cultivation technique that was just too suspicious. The only way the description of that cultivation technique could be true was if someone had truly survived the explosion of an entire universe while using that technique.

Lex felt that despite everything that technique had to offer, it was a good thing that he had given it up.

Lex took a deep breath, gathering his focus as he did, and once again tried to trace the karmic string of the guy who had messed with his tribulation. This time, despite his weakness, Lex could vaguely sense how far his target was.

Lex gathered his determination, and stepped forward, entering Arch-Heaven properly. Gone were the simple grass lands and easy to chop down trees. Everything here made Lex feel like an ant, so much so that Lex suspected even Dao Lords might be dwarfed here.

It was not that the lands here were filled with treasures, each of them incredibly valuable. No, it was the absolute strength of the laws that made up this place that bled into the atmosphere, and those laws were far stronger than any Lex had experienced. Perhaps, even calling them laws might not be

accurate anymore.

Whatever it was, the intensity of the land truly made it feel as if it was worthy of being the core of the universe.

From within the white, marble tree, the jackal merely watched as Lex left, shaking his head. If these lands were so easy to roam, he would not have secluded himself at his post, simply cultivating in loneliness despite his high cultivation realm.

One might not even realize it before they were taken by death in these lands. This was not some treasure filled paradise. A more accurate description of it would probably be to call it a beautiful graveyard.

The jackal closed his eyes and began cultivating. At least within this building, at his post, he was safe. The rules made it so.
