The Innkeeper

Chapter 1910 Sin City I

Chapter 1910 Sin City I

As Lex ran through this mist, his senses suppressed so much that he could not even see the walls of the canyon beside him anymore, a hand suddenly rose out of the mist and grabbed his thigh.

“This is why I hate Ghosts,” Lex groaned as he used Domination to incinerate the ghost-hand away. “They’re all perverts who like grabbing legs. How can a whole race have foot fetishes?”

Outside, both Eclipse and Harriot looked at each other. The truth was that ghosts most often grabbed legs because their most common attack tactic was to hide underground and then emerge unexpectedly, grabbing their target as quickly as possible. As such, it was natural that they would grab legs and feet, the closest things to the ground. Yet… what if that slight bit of logic was just a cover to hide their fetish?

Both of them obviously knew that this wasn’t the case… and yet, it was much more entertaining to treat it as the truth anyway.

“Oh my, how scandalous,” Eclipse said as she chuckled, covering her lips with her hand as she did.

“I always knew that there was something wrong with Ghosts,” Harriot commented, his tail wagging in the air. He didn’t care what the truth was – as long as Eclipse liked it, that was the truth!

Lex continued to run, but he disliked being so vulnerable, so the next time a ghost tried to cop a feel- er, no, as in, the next time a ghost tried to grab his leg, Lex grabbed the ghost first and yanked him out of the ground.

Then, Lex slapped the ghost a couple of times to establish some Karma between them, before fusing the Karmic Bead with the ghost. Clearly, everything here was related to Ghosts, so he wanted to deal with them once and for all.

Instantly, Lex could see hundreds of thousands of Karmic strings emerging from the Ghost and spreading all across the canyon, though Lex focused on the largest one.

Once the connection had been established, Lex grit his teeth and used a bit of brute force. Through the application of his Supremacy, and his deep understanding of Karma, Lex did something genuinely impressive for his level! He swapped the position of the random Ghost in his hand with the Ghost who had the strongest Karmic connection using only their Karma!

“Whoa!” exclaimed the Ghost of Woe as he experienced something unexpected. Unfortunately, or rather, to the woe of the ghost, that was merely Lex’s opening act.

Furious flames shot out of Lex’s mouth as he unleashed Golden Inferno on the Ghost, strengthened both by Lex’s Domination and his new cultivation level. A loud, resounding scream echoed through the canyons as the Ghost suffered serious burns, suddenly reducing the oppression on Lex by the canyon.

The Ghost tried to disappear, fading into the mist, but Lex firmly held onto its Karma, not attacking directly but channeling the attacks through the strings of Karma. This meant no matter where the ghost went, or how far it escaped, it could not run.

Once, the Innkeeper had used a mere butter knife to attack through the karmic strings across an entire realm. What Lex was doing now was merely a pale imitation of that.

“He’s not bad,” Eclipse commented as she saw Lex attacking through Karma. “Back in the day, I used to use Karmic strings similar to that to craft my web. That’s how I was able to trap my first husband.”

“Mistress, please stop referring to Eternix as your first husband already. His actual wife dumped him because of that. He still hasn’t gotten over it even after they eventually got back together,” Harriot said, feeling troubled.

“How else was I supposed to get his tears?” Eclipse asked seriously. “Also, I’m a very conservative woman. If a man has lived on my web, he must become my husband. Cohabiting with someone of the opposite gender on the same web without a proper relationship is highly uncouth.”

Eclipse was speaking very seriously, even waving her finger at Harriot, as if teaching the poodle an important life lesson.

Harriot sighed, and said nothing else. As long as the mistress was happy…

Lex, meanwhile, kept burning the ghost again and again until, eventually, the Ghost of Woe personally opened a portal out of the canyon for Lex, throwing him out! But, since the Ghost was feeling a little vindictive, the portal opened directly to the gate of Sin City.

Seeing the exit before him, Lex allowed himself to be pushed through. In the end, he didn’t need the compass to exit the canyon, but Lex genuinely believed that it helped him avoid a lot of trouble so he didn’t regret the purchase.

As for the Karmic Bead? Lex had no trouble recalling it. That bead permanently resided in Lex’s Karma, which meant that as long as Lex, or even Jack, existed, the Bead would be available to them. Only if they died would the bead become an independent, unowned treasure that others might covet.

As soon as the portal closed behind him, Lex took stock of his surroundings and noticed that he seemed to be inside a regular city. Of course, there was nothing regular in the Primordial Garden, so the first thing Lex did was try to exit. He

failed.

That’s when he read a board placed right next to the entrance.

‘What happens in Sin City stays in Sin City. Whoever comes into Sin City stays in Sin City. Basically, the city just takes, but never gives back – The Mayor’ What kind of a slogan was that? Yet based on the number of residents, and the casual attitude they all maintained, it seemed the situation here was not too bad. He just needed to find a way out. After all, this, too, was an obstacle for

him to overcome.

“Harriot, did we ever get around to making an exit for that city?” Eclipse asked, suddenly remembering one of the things on her todo list that she forgot about. “No mistress. No one has exited that city since you created it,” Harriot answered truthfully.

Suddenly, for reasons he did not understand, Lex started to get a bad feeling.
