The Imperial Martial Pill Venerable
Chapter 627: Pulling Rank
Still buying, or not?
Qin Ya approached, spear in hand, his killing intent palpable. His gaze was like a bitter winter wind in the dead of December, and the palpable chill made everyone shiver.
Faced with Qin Ya’s question, Bai Lintian and Lin He felt a chill run down their spines.
The gruesome image of the Half-Venerable Martial Artist who had just been brutally slaughtered kept replaying in their minds.
‘Gods, what kind of person is he?!’
A King slaughtering Half-Venerables as if they were dogs! Sure, they were just ordinary Half-Venerables, nothing compared to the masters on the Celestial List, but they were Half-Venerables nonetheless!
“I… I… We’re not buying,” Lin He stammered.
Qin Ya said lightly, “You’re the ones who said it.”
“Yes, yes, we’re not buying.”
“Stop.”
Just then, a shout came from the distance.
Immediately after, a dozen or so Capital Guards in armor, holding long spears, rushed over. They completely surrounded Qin Ya and his companions, their menacing aura suggesting they could attack at any moment.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
The lead Capital Guard, a man in his thirties or forties with a stubbled chin, exuded a terrifying pressure. His Cultivation was at the Half-Venerable Realm!
Seeing the Capital Guard Army arrive, Lin He and Bai Lintian’s faces lit up with joy.
With Lin He’s help, Bai Lintian immediately stood up. He walked over to the Capital Guard, took out a green seal, and said, “I am Bai Lintian, a noble. This madman tried to kill me in the street and has already murdered over a dozen Half-Venerables. His crimes are heinous!”
The Capital Guards’ expressions grew odd upon hearing this.
‘Bai Lintian, Noble Bai, you’ve got to be kidding me.’
‘This is just a mere King. He can kill you? And on top of that, he killed over a dozen Half-Venerables? That has to be the biggest joke in the world.’
Seeing the looks on the Capital Guards’ faces, Bai Lintian knew they didn’t quite believe him. This frustrated him, because to be honest, he didn’t quite believe it either.
But it was the truth!
“Gentlemen, if you don’t believe me, you can ask anyone else.”
Seeing that Bai Lintian’s attitude didn’t seem fake, the Capital Guards hesitated. They then grabbed a few passersby to question. After hearing the answers, they were utterly shocked.
‘My god, does he have to be so vicious?’
‘A King actually achieved such a terrifying combat record.’
SWOOSH, SWOOSH, SWOOSH…
The dozen or so Capital Guards surrounded Qin Ya, their long spears pointed at him, their expressions grave.
Although they hadn’t seen Qin Ya fight with their own eyes, they didn’t dare to be careless.
At that moment, a figure flew over.
After Mo Cang arrived, he also revealed his status as a New Noble and said in a cold voice, “These two were trying to forcefully seize my Spiritual Artifact. My friend only stepped in because he couldn’t stand by and watch. What reason do you have to arrest him?”
Hearing this, Lin He and Bai Lintian, who were standing to the side, felt their faces darken.
‘Buy! We were going to buy it! Since when were we trying to steal it?!’
‘Slander! This is blatant slander!’
The Capital Guard Army, however, was now in a difficult position.
They hadn’t expected two New Nobles to be involved. The stubble-chinned Capital Guard commander’s gaze shifted between the two, his expression hardening slightly. Then, he made a decision.
‘This New Noble is a complete stranger. A total newcomer at a glance.’
‘But Bai Lintian is different. He’s an established New Noble and a candidate for Celestial Nobility. Even if he’s just a candidate, he’s not someone I can afford to offend.’
“Men, take these two into custody.”
The lead Capital Guard’s face hardened as he pointed at the two and barked the order.
Seeing this, Bai Lintian and Lin He broke into smug smiles.
‘Hmph. So what if you’re powerful? Here in the Divine Capital, status is just as crucial as strength, and that’s where you can’t compare.’
‘If he dares to defy the Capital Guards, he’ll be making an enemy of the Supervision Mansion. At that point, no amount of Cultivation will save him. You’re still too green to mess with me.’
As these thoughts flowed through Bai Lintian’s mind, the arrogance on his face grew even thicker.
At this moment, Qin Ya took a step forward. He let out a cold snort, his eyes filled with disdain. He took out an object and said indifferently, “Open your eyes and take a good look at what this is.”
WHOOSH…
A purple light bloomed, surging toward the sky.
The light gradually receded, and only then did the crowd get a clear look at the object.
It was a… purple Seal!
Runes flowed across the Seal’s surface, making it look mysterious, profound, and exceptionally noble.
Upon seeing it, the pupils of the Capital Guards contracted sharply, their faces showing utter disbelief. Bai Lintian and Lin He, in particular, were stunned speechless!
It was as if ten thousand heavenly thunderclaps had exploded in their minds with a deafening RUMBLE.
‘This… how is this possible?’
‘This purple Seal is… the Celestial Nobility Seal!’
“Impossible! Impossible! How could you possibly have the Celestial Nobility Seal?” Bai Lintian roared, unwilling to accept it. His eyes were bloodshot, his face twisted into a savage expression.
It wasn’t just him; everyone else was equally stunned.
Celestial Nobility!
There were millions upon millions of Martial Artists in the Divine Capital, but there were only seventy-two positions for Celestial Nobility. Each one was granted their own territory to establish their own power.
It was a symbol of status, a representation of glory and power.
But how could someone with such a status be a mere King?!
The crowd couldn’t imagine it, and they dared not believe it.
As for the Capital Guards, they were terrified out of their wits, breaking out in a cold sweat. ‘Gods, a Celestial Noble! We were just about to arrest a member of the Celestial Nobility!’
One had to understand that without the Divine Lord’s personal authorization, even the Supervision Mansion couldn’t easily arrest a Celestial Noble, let alone mere Capital Guards like them.
In that instant, the Capital Guards felt a bone-deep hatred for Bai Lintian.
‘Damn it, you bastard, are you blind?! How dare you offend a Celestial Noble! It’s true you’re a candidate for Celestial Nobility, but you’re just a fucking candidate!’
‘The current Celestial Noble of the Bai Family has incredibly high Cultivation; he could probably live for several hundred more years without any problem. You, the candidate, will have to wait at least that long!’
‘But this guy? He’s a genuine, bona fide Celestial Noble!’
“We were unaware of Your Excellency’s presence. We have offended you and beg for your forgiveness.”
The once-menacing Capital Guards instantly backed down, bowing and apologizing with the utmost deference. They were terrified that Qin Ya might, in a fit of displeasure, slaughter them all.
At this moment, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM…
A tremendous roar suddenly echoed from high up in the sky.
Everyone looked up, their faces filled with surprise.
“That’s… the Divine Guard Army. Why are they here again?”
“Didn’t they just arrest the Celestial Noble of the Wu Family?”
“Wait, I think they’re flying down.”
High in the sky, Ce Tian, the Commander of the Divine Guard Army, was holding a Divine Intent. He had gathered his men and was on his way to pass judgment on the Wu Family. Midway there, however, he saw Qin Ya surrounded by numerous Capital Guards below. His gaze focused, and after a moment of thought, he descended.
‘This Qin Ya is a Celestial Noble personally appointed by the Divine Lord. Although he’s young, he must have some extraordinary, hidden qualities. He seems to have run into a bit of trouble. I should help him if I can, if only to prevent those blind Capital Guards from causing more problems.’
