Chapter 554: The Aftermath of the Battle
Chapter 554: The Aftermath of the Battle
‘If we move with an army this big, our flight speed will decrease since we would have to match the speed of the slowest person. If only we had Teleportation Array Formation here, it would have been great…’ Jian Wang thought to himself.
The distance between the Desert Region to the Central Region was quite far. It would be fine if he was moving alone, but with millions of soldiers following him, it was difficult.
‘What should I do?’
Suddenly, he heard someone chuckling behind him.
It was Asmodeus.
“You looked troubled, Jian Wang. To think that someone like you would reveal a face like this. I’m a bit surprised.” Asmodeus smiled.
“You see, we are moving with millions of soldiers. Some of them have weaker cultivation and it would take us more than a day to reach the Central Region. How about you take out some of your Array Formations?” Jian Wang winked at Asmodeus.
“Do you think Array Formations that could move millions of people are easy to make? I do have a few toys here that can lessen our travel time.” Asmodeus gave a burst of carefree laughter as he took out thousands of gigantic ships.
Each ship could accommodate hundreds of thousands of passengers and Asmodeus had thousands of such ships!
“Where the hell did you get these ships?!” Jian Wang was shocked when he saw the flying ships that Asmodeus had taken out from his space ring.
“Enough chitchat and just tell everyone to enter the ships. These little toys are powered by God Stones, so they are quite expensive to maintain. You must shoulder half of the travel cost.” Asmodeus patted Jian Wang’s shoulder with a sly smile.
“What in the wor- Ays… Dammit. Fine.” Jian Wang shook his head and told everyone to get on the flying ships.
And so, their journey began.
The intimidating fleet of flying ships made the savage beasts flee right away. No one dared to stop them along the way and they soon reached the Central Region. However, what they saw made their eyes turn wide like saucers.
A scene of chaos and destruction.
Not even an intact building remained.
Just what kind of horrifying battle happened here?
The broken walls of Celestial City finally entered their sights. The destruction here was even more pronounced than in the last cities they’ve passed by.
“Is that the golden tower?” Someone pointed at the collapsed golden tower ahead of them.
Half of the tower was gone and a huge pile of rubble was scattered around the broken tower.
Hundreds of large craters can be seen in every direction.
The faces of Jian Wang and Asmodeus turned serious as they gazed in a certain direction. Everyone followed their line of sight and soon, they saw a figure flying toward their fleet.
It was a man dressed in bloodied white robes. His face was expressionless as he stared at them.
To the surprise of everyone, they saw Jian Wang and Asmodeus flying out of their ship to greet this person.
“Jiu Shen, it looks like you’ve finally gotten your revenge.” Jian Wang glanced at the man with a complicated look on his face. He was a bit skeptical about Jiu Shen’s power, but the man proved him wrong.
There was also a small part of him that didn’t wish to acknowledge that Jiu Shen was now much stronger than him, but he didn’t show it to his face.
Jiu Shen smiled at his words. “Sword God Jian Wang, thank you for protecting my people while I’m gone…”
Jian Wang shook his head at his words. “I didn’t even have to do anything. Your people defeated Lao Gou’s minions with their own power. And please drop the honorifics. You’re already a Celestial just like us. There is no need for formalities.”
Jiu Shen nodded his head at him before he turned his gaze towards the man hovering beside Jian Wang.
Jiu Shen stretched out his arm and said. “It’s nice to see you again, Celestial Emperor Asmodeus.”
Asmodeus grabbed Jiu Shen’s outstretched hand and held it firmly as he replied. “Just call me by my name, Jiu Shen.”
For some reason, Asmodeus didn’t dare glance at his eyes.
“Alright. You should take a rest sometimes, Asmodeus. You’ve been working a lot harder than us for the last millions of years.” Jiu Shen genuinely admired this guy. He had single-handedly sealed the entrance of hell for millions of years. It was something that he couldn’t replicate even with his current power. After all, he didn’t have Asmodeus’ skill in Array Formation Making. At most, he was only at the same level as Ai Chen in that category.
Meanwhile, everyone else was patiently waiting for the three of them. Most of the soldiers were looking at Jiu Shen. They wondered what happened to his battle with Celestial Emperor Lao Gou.
Finally, a beautiful figure slowly hovered towards the three Celestials. Everyone was shocked at her bravery since her actions might somehow anger the Celestials. However, the three Celestials didn’t reprimand her for interjecting into their conversation. Jian Wang and Asmodeus even greeted her with smiles on their faces.
“Well, she’s Wine Master Jiu Shen’s woman, right? So it’s understandable…”
“Indeed.”
Everyone whispered among themselves.
Theia ignored Jian Wang and Asmodeus. Her gaze was focused on the face of Jiu Shen. Her cold gaze melted as she let out a gentle smile.
It was a smile that took everyone’s breath away.
Jiu Shen glanced at Theia with an affectionate look. He then pulled her to his embrace, disregarding the looks of envy from all men.
“It’s good to see that you’re fine…” She muttered as she listened to Jiu Shen’s heartbeat.
“Mn.”
Cough!
Jian Wang intentionally let out a cough and said. “How about you tell us what happened first? Everyone came here to know about the result of your battle with Lao Gou.”
Theia reluctantly left Jiu Shen’s embrace and hovered beside him. She was also curious about the details of their battle.
