Chapter 346: Chapter 346 The old magic 2

Talia’s POV

I let out a deep breath, I closed my eyes, and I let my hands fall to my sides. I stopped trying, and I just breathed. I let the air fill my lungs, and I let the tension leave my body.

And then I felt it like a warmth spreading through my chest, and a power stirring in my veins. It was gentle at first, like a whisper in the wind. Then it grew stronger, like a flame catching fire.

I opened my eyes, and I saw the light flickering on my fingertips. It was faint, barely visible, but it was there.

"Good," my mother said. "You are learning, Talia. You are remembering who you are."

She stepped back, and I saw her hands beginning to move again. "Now, I will teach you the first of the old spells. This one is called the Shield of Light. It will protect you from dark magic."

I watched her hands trace a new pattern in the air, and I heard the words flowing from her lips.

"Luminara shal’eth," she said, and her voice was soft but powerful. "Vas’kala mor’eth. Protect the one who speaks the truth."

I watched the air shimmer around her hands, and I saw a faint golden light forming. It was beautiful, and I felt the warmth radiating from it.

"Now you try," she said. "Repeat after me. Luminara shal’eth. Vas’kala mor’eth."

I raised my hands, and I tried to copy her movements. "Luminara shal’eth," I said. "Vas’kala mor’eth."

Nothing happened.

"Again," my mother said. "But this time, feel the words. Do not just say them. Feel them."

I closed my eyes, and I let the words settle in my chest. I imagined the warmth spreading through my body, and I felt the power building.

"Luminara shal’eth," I said, and my voice was stronger. "Vas’kala mor’eth."

The air around my hands shimmered, and I saw a faint golden light forming. It was weak, barely there, but it was real.

"Good," my mother said. "Again. Stronger."

I took a breath, and I pushed harder. "Luminara shal’eth! Vas’kala mor’eth!"

The light exploded from my hands, bright and golden. I felt the warmth spreading through my body, and I felt the power surging through my veins.

I opened my eyes, and I saw the shield of light surrounding me. It was beautiful, and I felt safe.

"You did it," my mother said, and I heard the tears in her voice. "You did it, Talia."

I looked at my hands, at the light still flickering on my fingertips, and I felt the tears burning in my eyes.

"Teach me more," I said. "Teach me everything."

The days passed, and I practiced.

I stood in the clearing, and I felt the magic flowing through me. It was easier now, more natural. The words came more easily, and the power answered more quickly. I could feel it building inside me, growing stronger with every passing day.

My mother taught me more spells. She taught me the Song of Healing, the Whisper of Truth, and the Call of the Ancestors. Each one was different, each one powerful, and each one connected me deeper to my bloodline.

"The Song of Healing," she said, and I watched her hands move through the air. "Vas’kala shal’eth, mor’eth lumina. Heal the broken, mend the fallen."

I repeated the words, and I felt the warmth spreading through my hands. I reached out, and I touched a wilted flower. It bloomed again, vibrant and alive.

I looked at my mother, and I saw the tears in her eyes. "You are a true Silvertongue, Talia. You have the gift."

I looked at my hands, and I felt the power surging through me.

I had spent so long feeling powerless, and feeling like I was at the mercy of forces beyond my control. But standing here, with the old magic flowing through my veins and the warmth of my mother’s pride surrounding me, I felt something I had not felt in a very long time. I felt strong, I felt capable, and I felt like I could face whatever came next and come out the other side.

"I am ready," I said. "I am ready to face him."

My mother watched me, and I saw the pride in her tired eyes.

"You are learning quickly," she said. "Faster than I expected, Talia. Much faster."

I looked at her, and I felt the warmth spreading through my chest. "I had a good teacher, Mother."

She smiled, and I saw the tears in her eyes. "You are ready, Talia. You are ready to face Malachai."

I looked at the sky, and I felt the determination settling in my chest.

The fight was coming, and I knew that it would be hard. But I was not afraid, because I had my mother, I had Kaelen, and I had the old magic.

And that was enough.
