The Hidden Luna of Blackmoor Valley
Chapter 275 The whispers
Chapter 275: Chapter 275 The whispers
Talia’s POV
The whispers grew louder.
They were all around me, pressing in from the walls. I could feel them in my chest, and in my bones. They were everywhere, and they would not stop.
Kaelen looked at me, and his gray eyes were filled with worry. "Talia, what is happening?"
I shook my head, with my hands pressed against my ears. "The whispers, Kaelen. They are getting louder."
He listened, but I could see he still could not hear them. "What are they saying, Talia?"
I closed my eyes, and I let the whispers wash over me. They came from all sides, wrapping around me like a blanket I could not escape.
"She is here. The last one is here. The daughter of Seraphina has arrived."
I opened my eyes, and I felt the fear rise in my chest. "They are saying I am here, Kaelen. The last one. The daughter of my mother."
Kaelen’s jaw tightened. "The last what, Talia?"
I shook my head. "The last Silvertongue, Kaelen. They know who I am."
He pulled me closer. "Talia, you are tired. The darkness is playing tricks on you."
I shook my head. "No, Kaelen. This is real. I can hear them."
I listened again, and I realized something. The whispers were not in a language I knew, but I understood them. Every word was clear, like they were speaking directly to my soul.
"Kaelen," I said. "The whispers... they are in the old Silvertongue language."
He looked at me. "You can understand them, Talia?"
I nodded, with my voice barely above a whisper. "I do not know how, Kaelen. But I can."
"I have never been able to understand the old language before," I said, my voice trembling with confusion and wonder. "It was always just sounds to me, like words I could not grasp, and like trying to hold water in my hands. But now, standing here in this tunnel, surrounded by all this ancient magic, I can understand every single word, and I do not know if that means I am getting stronger or if this place is changing me into something I do not recognize."
He squeezed my hand. "What else are they saying, Talia?"
I listened, and the whispers grew clearer. They were louder now, and more urgent.
"She carries the blood. She carries the power. Finally, she has come to free the prisoner." The whispers continued.
I felt my heart pound against my ribs. "They are talking about my mother, Kaelen. They know she is here."
Kaelen’s voice was low. "They know you are coming for her, Talia."
I nodded, with my hands trembling. "They know everything, Kaelen. Everything."
I stood up and walked to the wall. The stone was cold beneath my fingers, but I felt something else, like a pulse, and like a heartbeat beneath the rock.
"Kaelen," I said. "The walls... they are alive."
He stood and walked to me, his voice filled with concern. "What do you mean, Talia?"
I pressed my hand against the stone. "I can feel it, Kaelen. The whispers are coming from the walls."
He touched the wall beside me. "I do not feel anything, Talia."
I shook my head. "It is Silvertongue magic, Kaelen. Old magic. The walls remember."
I closed my eyes, and I let the whispers wash over me again. They were all around me, pressing in from every side.
"Look for the symbols. They will guide you to the door. The door waits for the last one."
I opened my eyes. "The symbols, Kaelen. They are telling me to look for the symbols."
He looked at me. "What symbols, Talia?"
I shook my head. "I do not know yet, Kaelen. But I will know when I see them."
I pressed my hand against the wall again, and I felt the pulse beneath my fingers. It was faint, but it was there. Like a heartbeat, and like the tunnel itself was breathing.
"Kaelen," I said. "I think the walls are trying to show me something."
He moved closer, with his voice soft. "What do you see, Talia?"
I closed my eyes, and I let my fingers trace the cold stone. The whispers were all around me, but they were not just sounds anymore. They were images, like pictures forming in my mind.
"I see... a door," I said, with my voice barely a whisper. "It is a stone door, covered in symbols."
Kaelen’s hand found mine. "Where is this door, Talia?"
I shook my head. "I do not know yet. But the whispers are showing me. They are guiding me."
I focused harder, and the image grew clearer. The door was old and worn, but the symbols on it were still visible. They glowed faintly, like they were waiting for someone to read them.
"They are Silvertongue symbols," I said. "I do not know what they mean, but I know they are important."
Kaelen squeezed my hand. "Then we will find that door, Talia. Together."
I opened my eyes and looked at him. "What if we cannot open it?"
