"Charge! Slaughter the enemy forces!"

The cries of the Holy Empire of Valtanir’s soldiers rang out across the battlefield.

The imperial soldiers raised their swords and waited for orders from Elina and Freya.

But neither of them moved. They just sat quietly on their horses, their faces expressionless.

Just as the enemy forces were about to reach them, something unexpected happened.

Hundreds of magic circles suddenly appeared in the sky. They appeared so quickly that Corvin and Arkam didn’t even have time to notice them.

Whoosh!

Hundreds of energy spheres made of lightning and fire formed in the air before hurtling toward the enemy forces.

BOOM!

The Valtanir soldiers at the forefront of the charge were blown apart in an instant, their bodies reduced to bloody chunks.

The sight left Corvin and Arkam stunned. But before they could react, Elina’s command rang out from the front.

"Attack!"

The imperial soldiers charged forward with renewed vigor, their morale soaring as if they had been possessed.

The cavalry spurred their horses forward, while the infantry drew their swords and charged like a swarm of ants.

Corvin and Arkam panicked.

They had no idea what had happened to their troops, but they couldn’t simply retreat.

With no other choice, they pushed aside their confusion and charged forward.

The battle erupted across the battlefield, as tension and murderous intent filled the Corvil Plains for dozens of kilometers.

Meanwhile, two kilometers away, Evalyn and five thousand cavalry stood in formation.

A mysterious veil concealed them, keeping the enemy from noticing their presence.

"The battle has begun, Lady Evalyn. Now’s the time."

A woman’s soft voice came from beside her.

Evalyn drew her sword and shouted, "Open the portal!"

Whoosh!

A gigantic portal appeared before them. Evalyn pulled on her horse’s reins and charged through it, followed closely by the five thousand cavalry troops.

"Cast your holy magic! Defend against the attacks from the hundreds of magic circles in the sky! Don’t let them hit our front lines!"

A middle-aged priest shouted at the top of his lungs.

The priests behind him continued chanting sacred spells to protect their troops on the front lines.

Suddenly...

Buzz!

A loud buzzing sound came from behind them. The priests were startled and began to turn around, but before they could react, one of them suddenly lost his head.

His head fell to the ground and rolled away.

The other priests stared in horror, their eyes wide with fear.

Suddenly, one of them shouted.

"The enemy is here! We’re under attack from behind!"

Panic spread among the priests.

The middle-aged priest looked into the distance and saw a gigantic gate standing wide open. Evalyn and five thousand cavalry were charging straight toward them.

"W-What!? How is this possible!?"

His face went pale with fear.

But before they could react, Evalyn leaped off her horse and spread her white wings like an angel.

Her eyes shone with a brilliant white light, and an ancient symbol appeared on her forehead.

She raised her sword high before shouting, "Hero Technique: Falling Star!"

Buzz!

The Divine Sword of Luminus shone brilliantly as she swung it forward.

A slash of light shot toward the priests.

"Damn it!"

The middle-aged priest panicked and hurriedly raised his staff overhead.

"Holy Magic: Absolute Barrier!"

Buzz!

A massive magical barrier appeared and blocked the attack. However, Evalyn’s strike was simply too powerful.

The barrier didn’t even last a minute before shattering into pieces.

Evalyn grinned as she swung her sword again.

Whoosh!

Her lightning-fast slash easily cut through a dozen priests who hadn’t even had time to prepare.

The middle-aged priest panicked, but the attack didn’t stop there.

Hundreds of cavalrymen following Evalyn immediately broke through the priests’ formation and attacked them fiercely.

The priests fell one by one. No matter how hard they fought back, they stood no chance against the well-trained, fully armed cavalry.

"Damn it! How could this happen!? Why didn’t anyone notice!?"

The middle-aged priest shouted in panic and anger.

Neither Corvin nor Arkam had warned him about the sudden attack. Their rear ranks had completely collapsed, yet not a single soldier on the front lines had noticed what was happening.

High in the sky, Evalyn swung her sword from side to side and from top to bottom.

Each swing unleashed a one-meter-wide slash of light that sliced through the Valtanir priests.

Just as she was about to unleash her ultimate move, her danger alarm suddenly went off.

Her eyes widened as she quickly flapped her wings and retreated.

BOOM!

A giant hand made of fire descended from the sky, crushing dozens of imperial cavalry soldiers.

Evalyn looked up and fixed her gaze on a man in a black cloak floating ten meters above her.

’A mage? But why didn’t I sense his presence?’ she wondered.

Before she could figure out who he was, the black-cloaked mage raised his hand. A fireball four meters in diameter formed in his palm.

Without hesitation, he hurled it toward Evalyn.

Evalyn didn’t dodge. If she did, the soldiers below her would be caught in the attack.

She bent her knees in midair before darting straight toward the fireball.

Slash!

She sliced the fireball in half, causing it to explode. Black smoke spread in every direction.

Whoosh!

Evalyn burst through the smoke, raising her sword and slashing at the man.

Bang!

A blue barrier blocked her attack.

Evalyn’s eyes widened in shock.

"A Celestial Mage!?"

The man snapped his fingers.

Dozens of magic circles appeared around him. In the next second, hundreds of fireballs formed and shot toward Evalyn, striking her all at once.

BOOM!

The explosion was even more powerful than the last one.

Whoosh!

Evalyn shot out of the explosion before flapping her wings and soaring into the sky.

She looked a little disheveled, with black smudges on the right side of her face and in her hair.

But she paid no attention to her appearance. Her eyes remained fixed on the man, full of wariness.

"Who are you, really?"

She’d never heard of the rebel forces having a Celestial Mage, and neither had the Valtanir forces.

Even if this man had been hiding since yesterday, Evalyn should’ve been able to sense him. The same went for Cassiopeia, Phoenix, and Draco.

No matter how good a mage was at hiding their power, they couldn’t completely hide the mana coming from their body.

Yet neither Cassiopeia, Phoenix, nor Draco had said anything about a Celestial Mage being among the enemy forces, not even to her or Elina.

The man didn’t answer her question. His face was hidden behind a half-mask.

A smile spread across his face as he sneered, "Fool..."
