The Hidden Extra: The Lazy Prince Refuses to Ascend The Throne
Chapter 1020: Meeting Orrun Again
The City of Solen...
"Have you heard?"
"Heard what?"
"About the attack in the southern region of the Great Velmora Empire!"
"Huh? What happened? Who attacked?"
"Are you stupid? I said the southern region!"
"That’s not what I meant, damn it. I mean, who attacked it?"
"Oh, sorry. I didn’t realize what you meant. Rebel forces. It’s on a massive scale! Rumor has it that it’s not just the border towns but several nearby cities as well!"
"Are you serious? How reliable is this news?"
"Totally reliable! One hundred percent!"
The voices of two men could be heard as they walked through the city center.
They weren’t the only ones talking about it, either. Plenty of other people were having the same conversation.
"Here’s your warm bread."
"Thank you."
Nolan took the bread and walked away.
He took a bite and savored the tender beef and sweet sauce inside.
"It’s delicious," he muttered.
He kept taking bite after bite until the bread was gone before he even realized it.
Nolan took a sip of the warm milk he’d bought earlier while looking around at the busy streets.
He could hear bits and pieces of conversations around him, most of them about the rebel forces’ attack in the southern region of the Great Velmora Empire.
"The news already reached here? That was fast," he muttered before taking another sip of his milk.
But he wasn’t too surprised. The Great Velmora Empire was located on the central continent, making it an important trade hub for kingdoms from other continents.
The eastern continent, in particular, had a long history of trading with the Great Velmora Empire.
The kingdoms and empires there often bought spices from the empire.
The same went for merchants who sold high-quality fabrics and other materials to the empire.
Nolan casually made his way through the crowd and headed toward the Tower of Silence.
...
"Tower Master, I’ve gathered the formulas. Can you take a look at them?"
"Tower Master, the documents are ready. Where should I put them?"
"Tower Master..."
Several deans spoke at once, leaving Sylvia overwhelmed by the mountain of work in front of her.
She waved her hand and said tiredly, "Just put everything on that table over there."
She pointed toward the table in front of the sofa in the center of the room.
The deans hesitated for a moment.
They needed her answer right away, but when they saw her cold, serious expression, none of them dared to argue. They quickly did as she ordered.
Soon after, they left, and the office finally became quiet again.
Sylvia let out a sigh of relief and leaned back, relaxing her stiff body.
"This is such a hassle," she grumbled.
Her workload just kept piling up, leaving her with no time to relax—not even for a moment.
Once she felt better, she got back to work. But before she could even pick up her pen, someone knocked on the door.
"Tower Master, there’s some important news!"
Sylvia’s face twitched, and for a moment, she felt like smashing everything around her.
But she held herself back, took a deep breath, and replied, "Come in."
The door opened, and a servant stepped inside, looking panicked.
"What is it?"
The servant bowed his head before answering, "Sage Orrun has left his study!"
Sylvia’s grim expression slowly changed.
"What did you say?"
"Sage Orrun has left his study!"
Bang!
Sylvia slammed her palm down on the table. The loud thud made the servant flinch.
"Are you serious? Sage Orrun actually left his study?!"
Under her intense gaze, the servant swallowed nervously. He didn’t dare stay silent and quickly answered, "Y-Yes!"
Sylvia gasped. Along with the shock, she also felt a surge of excitement.
Orrun had shut himself away for six long months, and she had no idea what had happened to him.
Actually, Sylvia didn’t really mind. Orrun had given up most of his responsibilities and simply wanted to enjoy his free time.
Unless something important came up, he didn’t want to be disturbed.
The problem was that Sylvia needed his help analyzing some new spells.
Unfortunately, Orrun couldn’t be called out for six months.
She had already tried breaking down the door to his study, but she had failed. It felt as though a powerful barrier stood behind the door, absorbing all kinds of force, both magical and physical.
"I understand."
Sylvia composed herself and smiled.
"I’ll go to him!"
...
"Hahaha! It’s great to see you’re doing well, Singularity of Chaos."
Orrun hugged Nolan tightly.
Nolan couldn’t help but smile as he hugged him back.
A moment later, they let go. Orrun looked Nolan up and down before asking, "So, how was your journey? Did everything go well?"
His voice was full of excitement and curiosity.
Nolan waved his hand.
"It was a very nerve-wracking journey."
He flopped down onto the sofa and let out a long sigh.
Orrun made tea for both of them. Once he was done, he placed the two cups on the table and sat across from Nolan.
"Tell me about it."
Nolan nodded and began telling Orrun about his journey around the universe.
Orrun listened calmly at first, but his expression soon changed to one of surprise.
"Y-You traveled around the universe?" he exclaimed.
"That’s right."
Nolan took a sip of his tea, enjoying its refreshing sweetness.
"It was a journey I’ll never forget."
Orrun didn’t know what to say. Traveling around the universe sounded incredible.
If only he could have gone with Nolan, he might have even come up with a new and incredibly powerful spell.
"What a shame," he grumbled. "I couldn’t go with you. Tsk! I really regret it."
Nolan rolled his eyes. This was the second time he’d met someone who wished they could experience what he’d been through.
The universe was terrifying and desolate. But Orrun and Malverna didn’t know that.
"Forget about my journey across the universe. There’s something I want to tell you. It’s far more important than that."
Orrun blinked curiously.
"What is it?"
Nolan then told him about the punishments the gods had inflicted on him.
Orrun was shocked once again. His body trembled as fear slowly crept over him.
"Are you serious? You were punished by the gods?"
"Do you think I’d lie to you?"
Nolan rolled his eyes.
"Everyone forgot about me. My powers completely vanished. Luckily, someone helped me regain sixty percent of my power."
Orrun fell silent. Even for him, the story was difficult to process.
"But you didn’t forget me, old man. What really happened?" Nolan asked suspiciously.
Only Yllia hadn’t forgotten him. But Nolan understood why.
As for Orrun?
He was indeed powerful, but that was all. There was no way he could defy the will of the gods.
Orrun remained silent for quite a while before slowly taking a deep breath.
"Perhaps it has something to do with the space I created."
"What do you mean?"
Orrun smiled knowingly.
"I’ve created a new spell related to spatial dimensions. Want to see it?"
