Yvonne Lowell nodded. "Alright, I’ll go in and see him. Don’t mind me."

"Yes, Miss Lowell."

Silas Lynch happily made himself scarce. He still had to hurry and finish his work to tag along for a free meal, and after dinner, he had to get back to his girlfriend.

Yvonne Lowell walked to Leo Grant’s office door and knocked. After hearing a "Come in," she pushed the door open and stepped inside.

"What is it?"

The man sitting at the desk was so busy he didn’t even lift his head, his eyes still fixed on the documents before him, his tone tinged with impatience.

Yvonne Lowell walked over and stood before him. She deliberately put on a high-pitched, cutesy voice. "President Grant, I have a little document here that needs your signature~"

Hearing his girlfriend’s playful voice, Leo Grant snapped his head up. The impatience on his face instantly melted away, replaced by a warm expression.

"Secretary Lowell, what document needs my signature? A marriage license application, perhaps?"

Yvonne Lowell pointed to the floor-to-ceiling windows. "President Grant, the sun is still up. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves."

"A man can dream. Besides, it’s bound to happen sooner or later."

Leo Grant got up, walked over, and pulled her into his arms. "Why didn’t you tell me you were coming? Are you all done with your things?"

"Yep. I finished up and figured I’d swing by to do a spot check, see if you were hiding some other woman in a gilded cage behind my back," Yvonne Lowell teased.

Leo Grant tucked a stray strand of hair from her cheek behind her ear and said softly,

"How could I keep a beautiful woman hidden away when you’re not here? You’re the only beautiful woman for me. You know that. In front of anyone else, I’m practically a eunuch."

Yvonne Lowell shot him an exasperated look and tapped a finger on the garment bag she had just set on the desk.

"Enough of your nonsense. Get back to work. We’re leaving as soon as we change."

Leo Grant’s gaze shifted to the desk. He froze for a moment. "What clothes?"

"They’re for dinner later. What, you don’t want to change?" Yvonne Lowell raised an eyebrow.

"I’ll change! I’ll go right now..."

Yvonne Lowell quickly cut him off. "You’ll go right now... and finish your work. Get a move on, or we’re eating dinner here in the office."

"Yes, yes! I guarantee I’ll complete my mission ahead of schedule."

Leo Grant gave her a quick kiss, then sat back down and dutifully returned to his toil.

Yvonne Lowell took the two outfits into the private lounge. "It’s still early, so no rush. I’m going to get changed first."

"Got it, boss lady. I’ll be a good boy and work hard," Leo Grant answered obediently.

’The birthday boy is a one-day gig; the workhorse is forever. It’s fate.’

...

Yvonne Lowell finished changing, then took out the makeup bag she brought and put on some light makeup.

’Good thing that while she rarely wore makeup, she used to do disguises for missions all the time, so her skills were still pretty sharp.’

’Besides, she couldn’t exactly call a stylist right now—that would give the whole game away.’

Just as she finished applying her lipstick, there was a knock on the door, and with it, Leo Grant’s voice. "Bonnie, are you ready?"

"I’m ready, come on in," Yvonne Lowell answered casually as she started tidying up the various bottles and jars on the table.

Leo Grant pushed the door open and went in. When he saw the scene in the lounge, he froze on the spot, his Adam’s apple bobbing almost imperceptibly.

Yvonne Lowell was wearing a long, silver, strapless gown that revealed her prominent shoulder blades. The dress cinched at her waist, making it look impossibly slender.

’This dress, though... it looked familiar. He felt like he’d seen it somewhere before...’

Yvonne Lowell finished tidying the tabletop, but Leo Grant still hadn’t said a thing. Finding it a bit strange, she turned to look at him.

Seeing the big oaf still standing dumbly at the door, she pursed her lips. "What are you gaping at? Are you finished?"

Leo Grant snapped back to his senses and walked towards her. "Yeah, I’m done."

It was only then that he noticed the slit in the front of her gown, which ran high above her knee. The overlapping design of the skirt added a beautiful sense of depth.

In contrast, the Purple Jade Buddha Pendant on her neck and the Buddha Bead Bracelet on her wrist seemed a bit out of place.

Both of these were gifts from Leo Grant. Ever since she started wearing them, he had never seen her take them off unless it was absolutely necessary.

Leo Grant’s eyes darkened. ’Such a good girl.’

Right now, she looked like a fairy fallen to earth, and it made him want to spirit her away and hide her from the eyes of the world.

"If you’re done, then hurry up and change. Your clothes are hanging on the rack. I’ll wait for you outside."

Yvonne Lowell jerked her chin towards the clothing rack behind him and turned to walk out.

But he suddenly wrapped an arm around her waist. Even through the fabric of her gown, she could feel the warmth from his large hand.

"No rush. It’s still early," Leo Grant said in a husky voice, his deep eyes filled with fiery passion.

Sensing his intention, Yvonne Lowell promptly covered his mouth with her hand. "I have lipstick on. And hurry up, or we’ll be late."

Leo Grant seized the opportunity to kiss her small hand before pulling it away. He said, his voice full of meaning,

"Alright. You can owe me this one."

’And when she pays it back, it’ll be with interest.’

...

When Leo Grant came out after changing, Yvonne Lowell was sitting on the sofa, playing on her phone.

"Bonnie, I’m ready."

Yvonne Lowell looked up, a satisfied smile playing on her lips. "It fits you quite well."

’It was worth the trouble of secretly getting his suit measurements from Silas Lynch and having it altered and delivered overnight.’

Leo Grant walked over and sat down beside her, asking, "Are these two outfits ilpianeta’s pièce de résistance, La Via Lattea?"

If at first he only thought Yvonne Lowell’s dress looked familiar, the moment he saw the exclusive embroidered logo on the suit, he understood everything.

ilpianeta—Italian for "The Planet"—is a world-renowned high-end luxury brand. All of its pieces are named after galaxies.

He owned nearly all of their men’s accessories and suits, with the exception of the "not for sale" pieces.

And these two outfits were the house’s signature piece, La Via Lattea, or "The Milky Way," personally designed and crafted by the founder, Y. Both the men’s and women’s versions were one-of-a-kind "not for sale" items, unique in all the world.

Yvonne Lowell raised an eyebrow. "You’ve got a good eye."

"But aren’t these ’not for sale’?"

’The house’s signature piece, which was supposed to be in a glass display case at ilpianeta’s Country E headquarters. And yet, here he was, wearing the men’s silver-gray suit...’

Leo Grant felt his heart turn to mush. ’The amount of effort and favors it must have taken to acquire these...’

Yvonne Lowell shrugged nonchalantly. "’Not for sale’ just means the price wasn’t high enough. Plus, I have some pull with the owner, so I got my hands on them."

’And they were her own creations, anyway. Was there any doubt she could get them if she wanted?’

Seeing that he was about to get sentimental, Yvonne Lowell pulled him to his feet. "Let’s go, birthday boy. It’s getting late."

Leo Grant obediently let her lead him out. Despite his expressionless face, a hint of joy was visible to any onlooker.

Meanwhile, the secretaries who saw their boss leaving early started buzzing in the company group chat.

Somehow, though, the gossip that started as, "Miss Lowell and the boss left early for a date, and the boss changed into a crazy handsome outfit,"

had morphed into, "Miss Lowell came to the company for a date with the boss, and she was wearing a different outfit when she left."
