Yvonne Lowell turned around and gave him a fake smile. Then, catching him off guard, she drove her elbow back, jabbing him hard.

"Drop those five words, ’doesn’t act like a person,’ thanks."

"Oof!" Leo Grant clutched his stomach, his tone aggrieved. "Yvonne Lowell, are you trying to murder your own husband?!"

"Don’t play the victim. I only used thirty percent of my strength. You’re the one who started it."

Yvonne Lowell rolled her eyes in annoyance. "If you think even that hurts, it just means you can’t take it. You’re just a total weakling."

You can’t take it...

Can’t take it...

Take it...

Those few words made a vein throb on Leo Grant’s forehead as he ground out through clenched teeth,

"I’m perfectly capable! What do you mean I’m not?! And this doesn’t hurt at all!"

"Oh? Then stop playing the victim." Yvonne Lowell glanced meaningfully at the hand clutching his stomach.

Leo "Total-Wimp" "Fuming-but-Speechless-for-Now" Grant: ...

"Can you two stop whispering sweet nothings and pay attention to us poor, shocked souls?!"

Nolan Crawford spoke up, interrupting the two who were busy being all lovey-dovey.

Yvonne Lowell looked up. "Oh, snapped out of it? I thought you were all going to stand here all night and guard my gate. Get inside."

With that, she started dragging Leo Grant inside.

Nolan Crawford came to his senses and hurriedly followed after the two of them.

"Yvonne, you really kept this under wraps! I told you countless times that Falcon is my idol, and you didn’t even tell me!!!"

"Oh, I just thought your flattery sounded pretty good, so I wanted to hear more," Yvonne Lowell shrugged.

"Damn! Listen to yourself! Is that something a human being would say?!" Nolan Crawford pointed at her, his tone grief-stricken.

Leo Grant shot him a sidelong glance. "Were I to speak as a man, couldst thou comprehend my meaning?"

’If I spoke like a normal person, would you even understand me?’

’All this whining and complaining... I’m her boyfriend and I only just found out myself. What gives him the right to say anything?!’

’He’s just an extra who tagged along, and he still has the nerve to run his mouth.’

Nolan Crawford was stunned for a moment, blinking. "What’s that supposed to mean? Why the hell are you spouting that classical gibberish all of a sudden?!"

’Yvonne Lowell suppressed a smile. This guy’s insult game was getting more and more sophisticated. She’d have to remember that one.’

"Ahem, it’s getting late. I’ll have Colin show you to the guest rooms on the second floor. If you want to go out tomorrow, figure it out yourselves."

Then she patted the ’paws’ on her waist. "Let go."

The large hand wrapped around her waist tightened. "Do I have to sleep in a guest room too?"

’Hearing this, the tiny figure in Nolan Crawford’s mind started frantically chewing on a handkerchief. Here he comes! Here he comes! He’s arriving with his grand scheme to get into her bed!!!’

Yvonne Lowell was stunned for a moment by his question, then a playful smile touched her lips.

"What else? Did you actually think you could get into my bed?"

A glint appeared in Leo Grant’s eyes. He didn’t answer her question directly. "What floor are you on?"

"The fifth floor."

"Then can I sleep in the room closest to you?"

Yvonne Lowell raised an eyebrow. "Reason?"

"I can’t sleep in strange beds, and I get nervous around new people. I’ll only be able to sleep well if I’m near you. Besides, my stomach is definitely bruised. You hit me, so you have to take responsibility. You have to put medicine on it for me."

Though he knew he had no leg to stand on, Leo Grant acted with righteous indignation and refused to let go.

’Yvonne Lowell’s lip twitched. Since when was he unable to sleep in strange beds and nervous around new people...?’

"Fine, let’s go."

’Stay calm. Hold back. I’m the one who spoiled him, after all. Can’t go and ruin that handsome face.’

Nolan Crawford watched the couple get into the elevator without a backward glance, then looked at the three people next to him.

"So, we just got ditched like that? Falcon, you fool! How could you be deceived by that big bad wolf!"

’Ian Lynch’s lip twitched. Whose side was this guy on, anyway?!’

’Apparently, the power of an idol could make a person switch loyalties in an instant. Young Master Crawford wasn’t even calling her Miss Lowell anymore.’

Colin cleared his throat. "If you’ll please follow me to the second floor. The master is using the elevator, so I’m afraid you three will have to take the stairs."

’The Pavilion Master of the Shadow Pavilion was nothing at all like the rumors. Ruthless and cruel? Cold and indifferent?’

’So who was this pampered pretty boy he’d seen tonight? He didn’t look like a big shot at all.’

’As expected. In front of their true master, even a dragon would have to lie low.’

Meanwhile, the elevator doors slowly slid shut, blocking out the prying eyes of all the third wheels.

Leo Grant leaned down close to her, his voice a little hoarse. "Bonnie, in just a few short hours, you’ve given me such a huge surprise. Just how many more secrets are you hiding from me?"

Yvonne Lowell’s slender fingers traced circles on his chest. "President Grant is a man of great resources. If you want to know, you can slowly dig them up for yourself."

A tingling, electric sensation spread through his chest. Leo Grant froze for a second, but he didn’t stop her. "Not even a little hint? That’s cruel."

Yvonne Lowell raised an eyebrow. "It wouldn’t be a surprise if I just told you, now would it, President Grant?"

"Fine. I’ll be sure to ’dig’ very thoroughly." Leo Grant smiled meaningfully, putting extra emphasis on the word "dig."

"But you spent the whole night talking to that pile of third wheels. Don’t you think you should make it up to me for being ignored all evening? Hmm?"

Yvonne Lowell: ’...Is your last name Fuller, by any chance? As in, you’re full of it? Or maybe Lyon? As in, you’re lyin’?’

Seeing her silence, Leo Grant pressed on. "I can’t believe it. I can accept losing out to Leogryph, but to Boss Crawford and the others, too?"

Yvonne Lowell’s eyes glinted. "What kind of compensation did you have in mind?"

Leo Grant intermittently nuzzled his nose against hers. "How could I be the one to decide that?"

Catching a glimpse of something out of the corner of her eye, a sly look crossed Yvonne Lowell’s face. She brushed her lips against his, as light as a dragonfly touching the water’s surface.

Just as Leo Grant moved to deepen the kiss, the elevator doors opened with a DING.

Yvonne Lowell shoved him away and strode out.

Leo Grant was stunned for a moment, then a dangerous light flashed in his eyes. He quickly chased after her, grabbed her by the wrist, and pinned her against the wall.

His tone was one of exasperated disappointment. "I’m happy you used a kiss to make it up to me, I really am. But you’re such a smart girl. Why can’t you seem to learn how to kiss properly?"

Without waiting for Yvonne Lowell to react, he lowered his head and crushed his lips to hers, kissing her with a fierce urgency, as if trying to steal all the air from her lungs.

Yvonne Lowell’s knees felt weak from the kiss, and she unconsciously gripped his shirt.

After what felt like an eternity, Leo Grant reluctantly pulled away from her swollen red lips. "Bonnie, *that* is a kiss. Have you learned your lesson?"

Yvonne Lowell caught her breath and glared up at him.

Leo Grant gave her his most innocent look. "Why so quiet? Does that mean you still haven’t learned? In that case, I can..."

Yvonne Lowell shoved his face away in annoyance and jutted her chin toward the room behind him. "You can stay here. Everything’s new; no one’s used it. I’m going to take a shower."

With that, she turned and disappeared into the room diagonally across from his.

Leo Grant chuckled, walked over to her door, and called out, "Bonnie, I’ll come find you for that medicine after my shower!"
