Chapter 1: My Isekai Life Begins

As I dragged my feet, feeling down from being rejected by Cynthia Banistrate. She had called me earlier today and to my delight, invited me to a date at a local steak house.

I had showed up fifteen minutes early, eager to make a good impression. Before I knew it, my last name had been called. The time for our reservation had come.

Sitting down, I ordered a glass of water and told the waitress I was waiting for my date. Her face had switched to annoyed by the fourth time she refiled it.

I sent her a text asking if she was running behind.

What she sent back made my stomach drop.

Who would ever want to go on a date with you. You’re hideous, stupid and I hate the way you talk. Never contact me again.

That brings you to where I’m at now. Wandering the streets, trying to find a way to stop this horrible feeling in my chest. I walked for dozens of blocks crying until my voice began to crack.

Walking in front of me were a group of teenagers kicking a can around, not paying enough attention. The girl on the right’s body illuminated fully as a semi barreled toward them.

I tried to yell but my voice failed. Giving every ounce of effort in my body, I ran toward the group of kids shoving them out of the way.

Darkness followed.

The moment my awareness became apparent my body felt numb and incredibly heavy as I opened my eyes. The sharp sound of a woman laughing seemed to snap my equilibrium back to normal. As my vision cleared, I looked around, taking in my surroundings.

Instead of the city street, I was sitting across from possibly the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Long black hair, huge tits, and... wings? She continued to giggle.

"What’s so funny?"

"The way you died, it was... valiant," the woman replied. Her huge knockers bounced with each giggle. "I grabbed your soul before it went to your universe’s afterlife."

"Wait! I’M DEAD?!"

"You are, but fear not. I, the gracious and beautiful Celestia, am about to offer you the chance of a lifetime... or, in your case, a second lifetime."

The way she spoke, with such pride and unyielding confidence, made me shiver. What worried me more was that I believed every word. I was even hoping they were true. In my previous life, let’s just say I wasn’t that guy.

"What’s the catch?" I asked, my inner cynic screaming at me. "Because there’s always one when things sound too good to be true."

"Only a few things you have to agree to, or I move on to the next candidate." Her eyes shifted. "First, I have gifted you with a Harem System. Following the quests will directly influence my abilities."

"And?"

"...And, well... Did I mention I’m the god of pleasure?"

"You didn’t... What’s that have to do with me? Quit dodging the question. Why didn’t you let me pass on?"

"Sadly, because you’re a virgin. After death, that purity created an opening for me to grab your soul." She shifted in her seat before continuing. "I’ve been working on a new type of magical creation. The one thing it needed was a virgin host."

She leaned forward. Our eyes remained locked until the curve of her pristine white dress dragged my focus.

I quickly glanced at her ’assets’ before looking back up. Celestia’s lips were curled at the edge. I knew I’d been caught.

"Perverted too? Even better. You, Sam Smith, are my host," she explained with gusto. "Though you will not remain pure for much longer."

"The hell does that mean?" I shot back.

"I’ll leave the rest a mystery. Telling you more would only ruin my experience, so... Oh! Oh! One or two more things. First: I am reincarnating you into a magical world. Yes, that kind of magic."

"Wait, I’m getting isekai’d? What else do you have to say?"

"When you wake, you’ll be in a new world. The world of Veloria, specifically the Kingdom of Yagisil. Back in your body, though I’m currently working on some upgrades before I send you on—"

"Upgrades! I thought I was a pretty decent-looking guy for my age. I just could never talk to women," I quickly shot back.

"Don’t worry. Small stuff like chin size and hairstyle... mundane things like that." She cleared her throat. "Now, as you are providing me a service, I find it only necessary for me to reciprocate."

"Is there actually something in it for me? I’m wary, but explain."

"Along with a magic system, I have materialized and fabricated a home for you and your future harem members. Through the use of the system, you’ll find things will happen."

"Avoiding the conversation about harems, what the fuck do you mean, things? And why did you say it like that?"

"That’s all I feel like telling you for now. I’ll be in touch. Often," she said, her eyes gleaming. "I have put all of my trust in you. Good luck and have fun!"

When I came to, I was falling through the sky, passing through white clouds. The cold air felt like a thousand needles against my skin. I began to scream, like any rational person would.

The funny part about falling nobody tells you is that you run out of breath far before your descent is over. Forced to take a hard, deep breath, I noticed the world below me.

A colossal stone wall dominated the landscape below. It formed a perfect, seamless ring. Inside it sat a city that defied logic. Sleek steel skyscrapers stood tightly packed with gothic stone towers. The sky around me was just as busy.

Large metal vehicles tore through the clouds, leaving trails of cloud-like exhaust. People flew beside them, surfing the open air.

Then I saw the islands. Massive chunks of earth floated mid-air, carrying gigantic stone castles.

As my excitement reached a crescendo, I noticed my trajectory had me heading straight toward the largest one. Its giant stained-glass windows grew by the millisecond. The wind roared in my ears as I squeezed my eyes shut, threw my hands over my face, and braced for the inevitable impact.

It never came.

I jolted as my feet found solid ground. The smell of wood wafted through the air. Lowering my hands, I found myself standing inside a house, with no idea how I got here. A note with my name in slick calligraphy caught my attention.

Opening the note, I read it out loud. "Dear Sam, this is your new house, another one of my experiments." I huffed. "She has too much free time."

I unfolded the note further and continued. "It has plenty of mysteries to solve, but I can tell you this. As you grow your harem, the house will upgrade itself."

"What the fu—ahhh!"

While I was focused on the note, some sort of human-like robot had come into the room. Its eyes constantly adjusted as it approached. It slowly floated closer to me, its steps laughably small. It raised one of its arms.

"So sorry. I am Ignis, your autonomous butler," it said in a nearly normal voice. "From today forward, you are my master. I serve as your wingman as well." It winked with one of its robotic eyes.

"Next time, announce yourself, Ignis. You nearly gave me a heart attack..."

Out of nowhere, a large glowing rectangle blocked most of my vision. Swatting at it proved worthless as my hand went straight through it. In large lettering, QUEST blinked at me.

Remembering the Goddess had mentioned something about a system, I assumed this was it. Excited to start my new isekai life, I tried to mentally push the illuminated button. It responded by opening like an envelope. A glowing blue card materialized.

[ TASK: Take your time, search and familiarize yourself with the surrounding areas. ]

The quest card shifted to a crimson red. The quest it showed now was vastly different.
