The Grey Rat's Demon Path
Chapter 361 - 311: Cyan Wood World, Demon Fiend Trial
Chapter 361 -310-311: Cyan Wood World, Demon Fiend Trial
The white-haired woman was also a Demon Fiend from the Demon Palace.
With her Cultivation having reached such a Realm, her memory was naturally astonishing.
Xu Chang’an and Chu Xianyi had only just arrived and hadn’t said a word, yet she recognized them.
“You’re lucky. A suitable trial mission appeared so quickly!”
“We waited over forty years for a mission. You call that lucky?”
Xu Chang’an was slightly taken aback.
“Of course. Under normal circumstances, it wouldn’t be surprising to wait several hundred or even a thousand years!” the white-haired woman added.
“In that case… I guess our luck really is good!”
Xu Chang’an said with a smile.
“Stand here!”
The white-haired woman indicated a spot on the Jade Platform.
Xu Chang’an looked closely and saw some very faint patterns carved there. He had a vague idea of what it was.
Xu Chang’an and Chu Xianyi stepped onto the Jade Platform and stood still.
As she raised her hand, Primordial Spirit Power surged forth.
BUZZ… BUZZ… BUZZ…
The pattern beneath Xu Chang’an’s feet lit up faintly.
Then, the light grew brighter. As it flickered, ripples in space began to appear.
“There will be a Demon Fiend to receive you on the other side. Go on, don’t worry!”
The instant the white-haired woman’s voice fell, the light flashed intensely.
Xu Chang’an and Chu Xianyi’s figures vanished from within the Demon Palace.
When they reappeared, they were already outside Kongchen Demon City.
“A Teleportation Array really is convenient,” Xu Chang’an mused, looking out at the Vast Land around them.
In the blink of an eye, they had gone from the Demon Palace to this place.
At that moment, a massive Spiritual Boat was already hovering in mid-air.
This Spiritual Boat was far larger than Chu Xianyi’s Vermilion Bird. It was pitch-black and gleamed with a metallic luster.
“Looks like quite a few members of the Demon Race have already arrived!”
From time to time, members of the Demon Race wearing Demon Fiend emblems flew over.
Judging by the patterns on their medals, these Demon Fiends were almost all Tier Two Yingzhao-level Demon Fiends.
‘Is it only members of the Demon Race participating in the Demon Fiend certification mission for the first time who get teleported directly from the Demon City?’
Xu Chang’an wondered.
Without dwelling on it, he and Chu Xianyi flew toward the Spiritual Boat in mid-air.
At the entrance to the Spiritual Boat, a Demon Fiend stood, treading on the air.
His entire body was bluish-purple, and he had a single cyan horn. His face resembled that of an old man.
This was a humanoid member of the Demon Race who had retained some of his demonic features.
‘An Iron-Cracking Level Demon Fiend!’
Xu Chang’an’s gaze sharpened.
Most Demon Fiends who came for the mission wore a Demon Monster Medal.
When the One-Horned Elder saw such medals, he would let them directly onto the Spiritual Boat.
Xu Chang’an and Chu Xianyi had not yet passed the Demon Fiend certification, so they naturally had no medals to wear.
As a result, they were stopped outside the Spiritual Boat by the One-Horned Elder.
“Please present your Demon Fiend credentials!” the One-Horned Elder said, looking at Xu Chang’an and Chu Xianyi with an unreadable expression.
Hearing this, Xu Chang’an took out the leathery Demon Fiend credential from his Storage Bracelet.
Chu Xianyi, at his side, did the same.
After confirming there were no issues, the One-Horned Elder nodded slightly.
“You may enter.”
“After you board the Spiritual Boat, head to the back!”
the One-Horned Elder added.
Xu Chang’an and Chu Xianyi entered the Spiritual Boat and saw an extremely wide aisle.
Xu Chang’an instinctively looked toward the front.
At the very front of the Spiritual Boat were enclosed private compartments, followed by individual seats with large gaps between them, offering good privacy.
After looking at the front, he then looked toward the back.
The back of the Spiritual Boat was filled with densely packed rows of seats.
At this point, quite a few members of the Demon Race were already seated.
‘Does everyone taking the Demon Fiend certification for the first time have to sit in the back? Or is it…’
In just an instant, Xu Chang’an had his answer.
Many of the Demon Race members sitting there were wearing Demon Monster Medals!
Judging by the patterns, most were Tier One Flying Monster-level Demon Fiends.
A very small number wore the medals of Tier Two Yingzhao-level Demon Fiends.
“Two more have arrived!”
“Never seen them before!”
“They’re not wearing Demon Monster Medals. Can’t tell if they’re Flying Strange Level or Ying Zhao Level!”
“…”
As soon as Xu Chang’an and Chu Xianyi entered the back of the Spiritual Boat, a series of voices piped up.
Inside the Spiritual Boat, instead of using Demon Sense to communicate, they had chosen the most primitive method.
“Let’s sit there,”
Chu Xianyi said to Xu Chang’an, pointing to a spot by the side.
Her voice was as cold as ever, but Xu Chang’an detected a hint of closeness in it.
‘Well, that hint of closeness is only in comparison to how she was before!’
Xu Chang’an and Chu Xianyi took their seats in turn.
An Array was set up along the side of the Spiritual Boat, allowing them to see the scenery outside!
Soon, new Demon Fiends entered the back of the Spiritual Boat.
The surrounding chatter quickly shifted to the newcomers.
“It’s Blood-toothed Crocodile Ling Feng!”
“A veteran Yingzhao Demon Fiend. He’s completed several extremely difficult missions, not only escaping unscathed but also reaping handsome rewards.”
“Huh!? This is… He’s broken through to the Unity Realm!”
“HISS~ It’s true!”
“The Unity Realm! I’ve been stuck at the Late-stage Void Refining for almost three million years and still haven’t found a chance to break through!”
“Relax, stay calm! The bottleneck to the Unity Realm is incredibly difficult! It’s perfectly normal to be stuck for even ten million years!”
“So, you’re saying Blood-toothed Crocodile Ling Feng is preparing to challenge for the rank of Iron-Cracking Level Demon Fiend!”
“Yeah, that must be it.”
“…”
Hearing this, Xu Chang’an looked over.
He saw that the one called Blood-toothed Crocodile Ling Feng was a robust man with a crimson face and flowing hair.
Though called a man, he had actually retained some features of his true demonic form.
A set of sharp teeth, mostly exposed, glinted with a cold light.
‘It really is the Unity Realm!’
The other party wasn’t hiding his aura, so Xu Chang’an sensed it easily.
