Chapter 356 -304-305: Refining the Thunderbolt, Never Forgetting the Original Aspiration (Part 2)

He then went through the Jade Scrolls one by one, reading the Cultivation Observations to learn more about the Great Realm.

After reviewing the information from the numerous Jade Scrolls, Xu Chang’an gained a new understanding of the powerful Demon Race within the Great Realm.

‘Over countless ages, the powerful members of the Demon Race in the Great Realm Di Jun have become innumerable. Even those of the Harmonization Demon Race would find it difficult to move about unchallenged.’

‘Some ancient demon clans possess powerful Bloodlines. It’s common for them to activate their Talent Divine Techniques and fight foes of a higher realm! With their formidable Bloodline aptitude, breaking through to the Unity Realm is far easier for them than for an ordinary demon.’

‘And once they break through to the Unity Realm, they become powerhouses within that realm!’

‘Different Bloodline grades, different levels of enlightenment, different comprehensions of the Great Dao, different Magical Combat techniques, and different Protective Spiritual Treasures—all these factors lead to vast disparities in combat power, even among those in the Unity Realm.’

‘Some members of the Harmonization Demon Race can easily slaughter dozens or even hundreds of other demons of the same realm; they are incomparably powerful.’

‘There are formidable demons, like the Demon-Loving Demon Emperor, the Celestial Dragon Demon Saint, and the Brahma Heaven Demon Fiend, whose combat prowess is so immense that they dominate several or even dozens of Provinces! Their fame shakes the Great Realm! Even throughout the three Great Realms of the Human Race, their venerable names are spoken with awe.’

‘Members of the Harmonization Demon Race, if they get certified as Demon Fiends, can normally apply for the Iron-Cracking Level Demon Fiend certification. As long as a demon’s foundation isn’t exceptionally weak, they can generally pass and receive a Third Stage title.’

‘But… above the Iron-Cracking Level, there’s the Shangyang Level, the Ji Meng Level, the Qinyuan Level…’

Xu Chang’an had a refined, handsome face, his eyes glinting with an unusual light.

‘With my current foundation, even though I’m at the Late-stage Void Refining Realm, I could rely on my Demon Body and Spirit and my Talent Divine Techniques. If I were to get certified as a Demon Fiend, I’d be at least Iron-Cracking Level—perhaps even Shangyang Level!’

SWOOSH!

A flash of light revealed a simple, primordial orb appearing before him.

The Top-Grade Spiritual Treasure, the Primordial Thunder Armor!

This was the Top-Grade Spiritual Treasure he had once fought tooth and nail to obtain.

Now, however, it didn’t seem to offer the immense help he had once imagined.

His Demon Body and Spirit alone was comparable to an average Top-Grade Spiritual Treasure.

Although the Primordial Thunder Armor’s Grade was impressive, it was only slightly stronger than his own Demon Body and Spirit.

His progress since arriving in the Great Realm had been truly unimaginable.

‘First, I’ll refine it!’

Unleashing his Primordial Spirit Power, Xu Chang’an began the process of nurturing and refining the armor.

Normally, only a member of the Harmonization Demon Race could truly unleash the full might of a Top-Grade Spiritual Treasure.

However, he had used the panel to achieve a perfect breakthrough. His Primordial Spirit Power was immense, not in the least bit inferior to that of the Harmonization Demon Race.

With his foundation, if he refined it properly, he too could unleash the full might of the Primordial Thunder Armor.

In the Meditation Room, Xu Chang’an sat cross-legged.

Flickering lights surrounded him, making him look like a celestial being.

Time flowed by with unusual speed during cultivation.

In the blink of an eye, thirty years passed.

On this day, a boundless wave of Primordial Spirit Power surged through the Meditation Room.

Xu Chang’an’s entire body was tightly encased in a suit of jet-black armor.

Sparks of electricity arced around the armor, which flickered with the light of thunderbolts!

“This Primordial Thunder Armor truly can change size at will, moving as my heart desires!”

Xu Chang’an tried changing his body size. The Primordial Thunder Armor clung tightly to his Demon Body, transforming along with him without the slightest feeling of hindrance.

‘I can use my Primordial Spirit Power to trigger the thunderbolt sigils on the armor and unleash Thunder Divine Techniques. The might of such an attack probably far exceeds a single blow from an ordinary member of the Harmonization Demon Race. It truly is worthy of being a Top-Grade Spiritual Treasure! I underestimated it before.’

But Xu Chang’an’s realizations didn’t stop there.

The Primordial Thunder Armor possessed a spirit of its own and seemed capable of reading his very thoughts.

It responded to his every whim.

His slightest thought was transmitted instantly, achieving true synchronization.

A speed like that made even the fastest Demon Sense seem inferior by comparison.

‘I wonder how Chu Xianyi is doing.’

With his realm breakthrough, the enhancement of his Demon Body and Spirit, and the complete refining of the Primordial Thunder Armor, Xu Chang’an’s session of secluded cultivation was a resounding success.

‘It’s time to emerge from seclusion!’

After dismantling the Array, Xu Chang’an stepped out of his Meditation Room, only to find that there was still no activity from Chu Xianyi’s.

‘She’s still in seclusion?’

The thought flashed through his mind, and Xu Chang’an couldn’t help but chuckle in amusement.

‘The Void Refining Realm is different, after all. A few decades of seclusion is perfectly normal. According to the Cultivation Observations I’ve read, some members of the Harmonization Demon Race will readily go into seclusion for tens of thousands of years. Compared to that, a few decades is like a short nap!’

Since Chu Xianyi had yet to emerge, Xu Chang’an was in no hurry.

Before entering seclusion, they had agreed that the day they emerged would be the day they applied for Demon Fiend certification.

Only those at the Mid-stage Void Refining Realm were qualified to apply for Demon Fiend certification.

Setting himself aside, Xu Chang’an found Chu Xianyi to be remarkably confident.

She was certain that by the time she emerged from seclusion, she would have broken through to the Mid-stage Void Refining Realm.

After all, the Void Refining Realm was unlike any other. It was perfectly normal for a cultivator to be stuck for tens or even hundreds of thousands of years while trying to break through from the Early Stage to the Middle Stage.

‘With all the constant fighting and realm breakthroughs, my Alchemy Skill has been neglected. Come to think of it, it’s been many years since I’ve practiced Alchemy.’

Xu Chang’an smiled wryly.

His Alchemy Skill had been with him ever since he first set foot on the Demon Path back on Langlang Mountain.

Now that he had achieved so much in his cultivation, he had let it fall by the wayside.

‘Since Chu Xianyi hasn’t come out yet, this is the perfect chance to pick my Alchemy Skill back up!’

Xu Chang’an possessed a Tier Seven Alchemy legacy.

Although he had already sold it, he still had a copy for himself.

‘I just need an Alchemy Furnace and some primary and secondary materials.’

With this in mind, Xu Chang’an left his immortal cave and made another trip to Kunpeng Palace.

He still had some Spirit Crystals on him, enough to buy an Alchemy Furnace and some Alchemy Spirit Plants.

His Alchemy Skill was currently only at Tier Three Middle Grade, so the Spiritual Herbs and Plants he needed to purchase were not particularly valuable compared to his overall wealth.

On his trip out, Xu Chang’an purchased a Tier Five High Grade Alchemy Furnace, which cost him over one hundred and seventy Spirit Crystals.

In addition to the Alchemy Furnace, he also bought a variety of Tier Three and Tier Four Spiritual Herbs and Plants.

Given his current Alchemy Skill, these materials should last him for quite some time.

Placing the Pill Furnace, preparing the Spirit Medicine, setting up the Array…

Xu Chang’an proceeded with each task in an orderly fashion.

In a daze, his thoughts drifted, as if he had returned to years long past.

Back then, his foundation had been shallow, and he had yet to find his footing in the vast Cultivation Realm.

Now, he no longer practiced Alchemy for the sake of cultivation, but simply to stay true to his original passion.

The Demon Path was a lonely one, and the pursuit of the Dao was arduous. Having a beloved skill to practice on the side was surely a blessing.

As raging flames burned and swirled, Xu Chang’an stood silently before the massive Alchemy Furnace.

Though he hadn’t practiced Alchemy in years, his experience remained.

And with the explosive growth of his Realm, he could now execute some extremely subtle control techniques with ease.

Normally, refining Elixirs was an extremely draining mental task.

But for Xu Chang’an, who was essentially practicing Alchemy on a level far below his own power, the process felt remarkably easy.

Through constant practice, in just two years, Xu Chang’an’s Alchemy Skill reached Tier Three High Grade.

He didn’t waste the Elixirs he successfully refined over these two years, consuming them one by one to convert them into Energy for his panel.

Seven years after becoming a Tier Three High-grade Alchemist, Xu Chang’an’s Alchemy Skill advanced to the Quasi-Fourth Tier.

Another nine years later, Xu Chang’an’s Alchemy Skill officially entered the realm of Tier Four.

Over the next fifty years, Xu Chang’an’s Alchemy Skill broke through successively to Tier Four Middle Grade, Tier Four High Grade, and finally, Quasi-Fifth Tier!

During that time, Xu Chang’an occasionally went out to purchase more Spiritual Herbs and Plants, spending a fair amount of Spirit Crystals.

Just as Xu Chang’an was attempting to break through to the realm of a Tier Five Alchemist, Chu Xianyi, who had been in seclusion for many years, finally emerged.

After a hundred years in seclusion, Chu Xianyi emerged, and her Realm gave Xu Chang’an quite a shock.

Late-stage Void Refining!

Chu Xianyi’s Realm had actually reached the Late-stage of Void Refining!

Her rate of cultivation was not the slightest bit slower than his own!

What astonishing talent!

But Xu Chang’an wasn’t the only one who was surprised.

So was Chu Xianyi.

‘He…’

Sensing the aura of Xu Chang’an’s Late-stage Void Refining Realm, a flicker of astonishment crossed Chu Xianyi’s beautiful eyes.

“Peacock King, it’s been a while,” Xu Chang’an said with a smile.

Chu Xianyi was taken aback for a moment.

‘A hundred years in seclusion… it really has been a long time,’ she thought.

Her lips parted slightly as she replied in kind.

“It has been a long time.”

The two demons looked at each other and smiled, everything understood without a word being said.
