The Greatest Village Doctor In The World
Chapter 2619 - 2618: Fierce Battle Situation
A clear outcome is determined.
Ling Feng saw countless members of the Demon Clan being killed, yet he felt no joy at all.
In fact, deep down, he faintly felt that something seemed off.
Such weak creatures, and yet that demon offspring dared to say they want to conquer the world?
If this is all they’ve got, then it’s simply ridiculous!
During the unilateral massacre, Ling Feng glanced at the massive island below and sternly instructed Ling Yun: "Use the heavy weapons on your ship to bombard that island for me!"
If all the Demons are hiding inside, why wait for them to come out? Just bombard their lair directly!
The Ling Yun spaceship has already adjusted its posture, and at this moment, a white light appeared from the barrel of a giant cannon at the ship’s bow!
A massive white beam then shot towards the island.
"Boom!"
A huge cloud of smoke rose up, and the island was instantly blasted into a wide crater several hundred meters across.
"Keep bombarding it!"
Ling Feng was very dissatisfied with this outcome and shouted sternly.
The Ling Yun soon continued its bombardment, and in the blink of an eye turned the island into a cratered wasteland.
But strangely, despite the bombing having happened a dozen times, the island still wasn’t breached and its inhabitants remained concealed.
On the contrary, those winged Demons kept slipping out from somewhere, seemingly endless.
"Master, this island has self-repairing capabilities. According to radar scans, the places I just bombed are regenerating!" Ling Yun reported.
"What the hell..."
Ling Feng froze in shock.
His mind raced, wondering what on earth is this?
After a moment of daze, Ling Feng returned to Ling Yun, then opened the large screen to check the current battle situation.
His side hadn’t yet suffered any casualties, and all the ships and Mechanical Soldiers remained fully operational.
On the other hand, the Demons’ losses had already surpassed ten thousand.
But the current situation is that they don’t know how many enemies there are, as they keep emerging endlessly. Eventually, all of Ling Feng’s fighting forces might run out of energy.
Even though machines are indestructible to demons, they can overcome that with sheer numbers.
Ling Feng was now genuinely at a loss.
Based on Ling Yun’s calculations, the battle’s outcome could very well be as he feared.
Right now, the energy consumption of attacking ships and Mechanical Soldiers isn’t much, just around ten percent or so, but there’s no resisting the endless waves!
After contemplating for a moment, Ling Feng made a swift decision and promptly ordered: "Immediately contact Moon Base, deploy all usable forces, let’s engage in rotational battles!"
As per his plan, even if Demons couldn’t be completely annihilated, they shouldn’t leave the battlefield; the only option now is to wage a war of attrition.
Part of the forces would be put into combat, while the rest would take turns returning to Moon Base to recharge; this is the best option right now.
Since it’s about attrition warfare, let’s see who can endure the longest!
Ling Feng already thought it through: if energy on the Moon runs out, then head to the Starlight Empire, or go find Abdo!
With the current energy reserves on the Moon Base, they could sustain starship battles for up to twenty days.
By then, reinforcements could arrive in time.
Having decided that, Ling Feng boarded Gu Li’s spaceship and left, first heading to Moon Base to verify the energy status with the core.
The results were better than he expected; the Moon Base’s energy reserves were adequate for all the ships to fight for twenty days.
However, if the energy is depleted, it would take a considerable amount of time to replenish such large quantities again.
Compared to money, energy is now the most valuable asset in Ling Feng’s hands.
But right now, there’s no room for considerations.
After utilizing all deployable weapons, Ling Feng teleported to the Starlight Empire.
Upon finding the Queen, he described Earth’s situation, which left the Empress of Starlight stunned.
Afterward, she sternly said, "The demon offspring is prepared, it seems like it truly aims to wage an attrition battle."
"I don’t really wish to use large-scale weapons because their effect could be negligible; mainly because we lack understanding of that island’s operations, or why the Demons are so numerous," Ling Feng replied.
"Yes, and one more thing to note; those slain so far are minor creatures. The Demons might possess more powerful battle tools that haven’t yet been unleashed," the Empress of Starlight responded.
"I understand. The current worry is that these Demons haven’t really been killed, as they might belong to the same regenerative type as the demon offspring. If that’s the case, not only will my energy reserves be drained, but even the Starlight Empire might get entangled!" Ling Feng said.
Upon hearing this, the Empress of Starlight squinted: "Indeed, at this rate, it really becomes a major issue!"
"Time’s running short, I’ll try to find a way to tackle that thing quickly."
Ling Feng took a deep breath, turned, and prepared to leave after speaking.
The Empress of Starlight immediately followed him: "Let me accompany you; if you’re not on-site, someone must oversee the battle."
"Then it would be my pleasure."
Ling Feng nodded, and together they left, returning to Lingyun Island.
Next, they proceeded to the battlefield, and upon arrival, it was covered by a sea of Ling Feng’s ships, almost blocking out the sky.
Some countries on Earth have already dispatched ships and planes to investigate, but upon witnessing such a scene, none dared to approach.
Subsequently, they opted against close reconnaissance and instead used satellites to observe the scene directly.
However, the effect of that was hardly ideal, as the sky was nearly filled with ships.
News of fierce battles in the sea near Lingyun Island quickly spread. Due to bandwidth issues with satellites, live broadcasts couldn’t be conducted, so information was relayed through images.
Despite this, people worldwide still gleaned some information from the news.
Naturally, faced with such a situation, people were as puzzled as Ling Feng, unable to think of solutions.
Meanwhile, in the upper echelons of various governments, secretive meetings were simultaneously being held, discussing ways to resolve this crisis.
If Ling Feng couldn’t hold on, then what would happen to Earthlings?
At this point, Ling Feng had already returned to Li Dynasty and found Abdo.
After hearing his description, Abdo appeared baffled: "Such creatures exist as well?"
Even he, from a supergalactic civilization, had never heard of such indestructible and unending creatures like the Demon Clan.
Solitarily taken aback, Abdo responded to Ling Feng: "I’ll contact Chairman Bruce immediately to see what he suggests!"
"Great, if willing to assist, please prepare a substantial number of ships for me," Ling Feng said.
Abdo nodded, then added: "Mr. Ling Feng, don’t worry; there must be a way to resolve this matter!"
