The Greatest Village Doctor In The World

Chapter 2612 - 2611: Searching for People

Though Little Jin was huge, compared to a planet, its size was absolutely insignificant.

Therefore, it smoothly entered the atmosphere of the blue planet without encountering any obstacle.

Because of this, Ling Feng felt that his secret infiltration had been quite successful.

After entering the atmosphere, Little Jin slowed down its flight speed and gradually descended towards the ground, and Ling Feng and Li Fei’er observed the situation below on the Continent.

The result was surprising; they saw plains and hills, large swaths of forest, but temporarily didn’t see any traces of human habitation.

When they reached an altitude of ten thousand meters, Little Jin asked, "Master, should we fly ahead to search for a nearby populated place?"

"Alright!"

Ling Feng nodded.

Little Jin stopped the descent and began flying forward.

Below, there were mountains and rivers, yet no shadow of people, leaving Ling Feng and Li Fei’er somewhat bewildered.

Following that, Little Jin flew forward for hundreds of kilometers, but still, there was no discovery!

"This is truly strange!"

Ling Feng muttered, turning to Li Fei’er, "Logically speaking, having seven planets on the same orbit implies a population explosion—one planet couldn’t accommodate them anymore—yet here, we can’t see a single person?"

"Yes, it’s indeed peculiar, but since the civilization is different, maybe they prefer communal living, residing in ultra-large cities?"

Li Fei’er commented, then laughed, "Too bad you didn’t bring the Empress of Starlight; otherwise, using her instruments to scan would reveal everything."

"I have the instrument, but I don’t want to use it."

Ling Feng shook his head, "We are on a secret infiltration mission; we cannot let them discover us. Otherwise, aside from being hard to explain, it might also invite trouble!"

"Oh well, then let’s take it slow. Since we’re here, spending more time is not a big deal!" Li Fei’er nodded.

Ling Feng murmured an agreement, spotting a plain with lush greenery that seemed like wild grass, and instructed Little Jin, "Let’s land ahead; we can rest here without urgency!"

"Understood, Master."

Little Jin responded and started descending.

Soon, it landed on the grassy area.

Ling Feng, upon landing and seeing the green plants below barely reaching his knees, paused for a moment.

Li Fei’er also paused, "This looks like crops rather than wild grass!"

"Looks like wheat."

Ling Feng picked a green stalk, opened and smelled it.

He then realized these plants seemed to be cereal crops, resembling wheat.

However, looking around the plain covered entirely by such plants without any fields or pathways, it felt as though these plants were not deliberately cultivated but growing like wild grass.

Parting the plants, the ground revealed rotten, yellowed stalks, further confirming Ling Feng’s thoughts.

These crops naturally died, dropped seeds, and sprouted into new growth without human intervention.

Considering this, Ling Feng’s heart suddenly sank!

Large-scale cereal crops unmanaged—could this imply that the planet is truly devoid of inhabitants?

If there were any residents, they wouldn’t allow such wastage of food!

"It’s really bizarre!"

Ling Feng remarked, gazing around, then told Little Jin, "This place isn’t suitable for settling; let’s move towards those mountains and find an open flat area!"

"Alright, Master."

Little Jin nodded, and after Ling Feng and Li Fei’er climbed its back, it instantly took flight.

After approximately ten minutes, they reached a hillside and found a flat area where Ling Feng and Li Fei’er returned to the ground.

The view here was excellent, almost offering a sight of the entire plain ahead, prompting Ling Feng to sit on a flat stone, turning to Li Fei’er, "Perhaps during the ensuing millennia, something happened here—of which we are utterly unaware—nor can we fathom their lifestyle or customs."

"Yes, but once we find someone, we’ll uncover the circumstances. Uncle, don’t worry; eventually, we’ll unravel the mysteries!" Li Fei’er assured.

"Hmm, looks like it’ll take longer." Ling Feng chuckled, choosing not to say more.

After sitting for a while, Ling Feng stood up, recalling Little Jin hovering in mid-air, then jumped back with Li Fei’er, resuming their search.

In the following period, they flew westward, covering over a thousand kilometers without making any discoveries.

The weight of doubts in Ling Feng’s mind grew heavier, finding it baffling.

However, after flying another hundred kilometers, Little Jin suddenly exclaimed, "Master, look there!"

Ling Feng hesitated, quickly peering down, and spotted a Mountain Peak.

The peak had been modified, entirely bare rock, sculpted into a human figure!

Though still distant, an obvious view of the person’s complete outline was visible.

The surrounding mountains were lush with vegetation, except for this peak, carved into a person.

Flying closer, Ling Feng saw the landmark clearly as a middle-aged man with a beard, appearing incredibly imposing.

While a stone sculpture, its craftsmanship was exceptionally detailed, capturing numerous nuances, even including distinct textures on the person’s clothes.

In front of the statue was a massive plaza paved with stone slabs, though weeds already thrived in its cracks, hinting at years of neglect.

After landing on the plaza, Ling Feng and Li Fei’er gazed up at the hundred-meter-tall sculpture, both feeling an overwhelming sense of awe.

"Here, we might find records documenting this man’s achievements, but unfortunately, we possibly won’t understand the writing." Ling Feng commented.

"Carving a mountain into a person’s likeness surely shows how remarkable he was?" Li Fei’er suggested.

Ling Feng agreed, followed by a resigned smile, "It’s just unfortunate that we can’t find anyone; otherwise, all our doubts could be cleared."

"Uncle, don’t lose heart; there are still six other planets. I don’t believe we won’t find a single person. Even if deserted, discovering an animal would suffice; I bet I can extract some information!" Li Fei’er consoled.

With her reassurance, Ling Feng felt less disappointed, nodding in resolve, "Indeed, I trust we’ll comprehend the situation!"

As the sun set, the two chose not to continue searching, instead settling down on the plaza, pitching tents to spend the night.

When dusk fully descended, a brilliant starry sky unfolded, exceptionally beautiful. Leaning on Ling Feng’s shoulder, Li Fei’er murmured, "Uncle, if all seven planets are uninhabited, shall we relocate here? The environment is wonderful!"
