Chapter 446: Chapter 167: Boss, Weren’t You on a Health Regimen Recently?

"I wonder what kind of fish this is," Feng Yaoyang mused to himself before digging in.

TCH! Just having the rice noodle roll in his mouth wasn’t enough; he had to smack his lips a few times, as if that was the only way to experience its full flavor.

The addition of the fish slices made this bite an unparalleled explosion of fresh, savory flavor!

"Three types of rice noodle rolls, three completely different textures and flavors. Even the aftertaste is completely different for each one!"

"And the lack of a complex sauce only serves to highlight the pure, savory flavor of the rolls themselves, and that delicate texture..."

Feng Yaoyang made short work of the several portions of rice noodle rolls, feeling like he could easily put away another three!

Ah Wu, sitting opposite him, was dumbfounded.

Ever since he’d been with Feng Yaoyang, the big boss had always been incredibly self-disciplined when it came to food and drink.

There were rules about not eating after a certain hour, eating smaller, more frequent meals, only eating until he was sixty percent full—all kinds of health philosophies.

For years, he had been responsible for his boss’s diet, strictly adhering to those healthy eating plans.

But this...

"Order three more for me!"

Ah Wu was utterly floored by his boss’s words. "Boss, you’ve already eaten four servings!"

"Have I?" Feng Yaoyang wiped his mouth. "I’m still not satisfied. Let’s get three more servings!"

Ah Wu tried to reason with him. "But you still have two other snacks to try. Won’t you be too full for them later?"

Feng Yaoyang smacked his lips. "Good point! Alright, then I’ll just have a final three servings! I absolutely won’t eat anything else after that."

Ah Wu wiped his forehead, realizing a thin sheen of sweat had formed.

He got up and walked to the service window. "Boss Su, we’ll have another three... no, six servings. Six more servings of rice noodle rolls, two of each type."

’Is this a joke?’

’I’m supposed to be the food taster, and I’ve been waiting forever without a single bite. Damn it!’

Su Chen didn’t refuse.

Normally, for custom meal service, he had the final say on portion sizes. But Feng Yaoyang was so generous, casually dropping a hundred thousand.

At that price, eating a bit more was perfectly fine.

Besides, making snacks wasn’t like cooking full dishes. The effort was the same for one serving or two. There was no need to prep special ingredients, and the pre-soaked rice slurry was enough to make a hundred or so servings.

Just as Su Chen was about to start pouring the rice slurry, a cheeky, slightly sycophantic voice called out.

"What did I say? Perfect timing is better than being early! Boss Su, are you really making rice noodle rolls with your own hands? How much are you selling them for?"

Su Chen jutted his chin toward Feng Yaoyang’s table. "This is a custom-ordered meal for that guest. If you want to eat, you’ll have to wait. At the very least, you have to wait until he’s finished."

Fang Chang pulled the man behind him forward. "Whatever you say, goes! Come on, Zhang Yi, give Boss Su a proper apology. And don’t mess up again, you hear?"

The stout Zhang Yi bowed and scraped. "Boss Su, about setting up that paid group last time... that was my bad. I was just..."

Su Chen waved a dismissive hand. "What’s there to apologize for? It’s nothing."

It hadn’t been a big deal in the first place. He hadn’t harmed Delicious’s business, and besides, he was a good friend of Boss Fang’s. Su Chen couldn’t be bothered to make an issue of it.

However, Feng Yaoyang, who was sitting at his table, pricked up his ears.

’Well, I’ll be. So this is the punk who set up that paid info group and scammed me out of fifty bucks?’

But he’d gotten the money back in the end, so Feng Yaoyang couldn’t be bothered with it either. He turned back to continue his conversation with Ah Wu.

Seeing that Boss Su wasn’t going to hold it against him, Zhang Yi finally breathed a huge sigh of relief.

"Alright, you don’t need to pre-order the third-floor dishes. Just bring your mother-in-law and brother-in-law over a little early next time." Fang Chang clapped Zhang Yi on the shoulder. "You’re not in a rush to get back today, are you? Let’s grab some home-style food, just the two of us."

"No rush, no rush." Finally off the blacklist at Delicious, Zhang Yi felt completely refreshed. "It’s my treat today!"

"Forget about it." Fang Chang found a table. "Just order what I tell you to. Get the sweet-style Braised Pork Belly, an order of Mapo Tofu, and you have to get the Stir-Fried Yellow Beef. I guarantee they’ll leave you speechless."

These were all dishes Fang Chang himself had once painstakingly waited in line for, so he knew their flavor was absolutely beyond question.

When Zhang Yi returned after placing the order, Fang Chang leaned across the table, motioned for Zhang Yi to lean in, and whispered, "Hey, man, I’m going to let you in on something. You have to promise me this goes no further. You absolutely cannot tell another living soul!"

Seeing Fang Chang’s rare, serious expression, Zhang Yi replied, "You can count on me."

Fang Chang was still cautious, scanning their surroundings. All the other patrons were absorbed in their meals, creating a lively atmosphere, but very few were actually talking.

Only then did he lean back in. "Boss Su is planning to open a whole floor for snacks. See that? Like all that stuff the big boss from Xiangjiang is eating."

"Don’t say I never look out for you. Instead of slaving away at that crap job of yours every day, you should come here and rent a stall when the time comes. With Boss Su’s snacks, I bet you could make six months of your current salary in just one month. Easily."

Zhang Yi was stunned. "Are you serious?"

Fang Chang nodded confidently. "But like I said, this information stops with you. You absolutely cannot let it get out!"

Zhang Yi understood the gravity of this news. "Absolutely. Quick, tell me everything."

Fang Chang wasn’t in a rush. He first went over to the wall dispenser to get two cups of water. "Your mother-in-law is always looking down on you, right? Let’s be honest, it’s because you don’t make enough money."

"I’ll give you some more inside info. Look at Boss Su’s place—don’t be fooled just because only the second and third floors are open right now. Let me put it this way: the amount of meat this place goes through in a single day is more than what several of the restaurants I supply across the city use in a whole week. You tell me how good business is."
